The Lions signed Kennedy from their practice squad to their active roster Thursday.

Kennedy initially missed the cut for Detroit's 53-man roster for 2026, but he's now back in the fold with Week 1 underway. He could be tasked with punt-return duties Sunday versus the Saints.

Kacmarek (calf) was a limited participant in practice for the second day in a row Thursday, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.

The tight end emerged from the Dolphins' last preseason game with an undisclosed issue that was eventually revealed to be a calf injury. He appears to still be dealing with it, though he did tell Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald on Wednesday that he expects to play in Miami's season opener Sunday against Las Vegas. The third-round pick is the backup to Greg Dulcich on the depth chart.

Thompson (hip) was a limited participant at practice Thursday.

Thompson's injury was previously undisclosed, but it's now known that it's a hip injury that threatens to keep him out of Week 1 action. He'll likely have to practice in full Friday to avoid taking an injury designation going into the weekend.

Bell estimated Thursday that his conditioning is back to "80 to 85 percent" following last season's torn ACL, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.

Bell underwent surgery for a clean tear of his ACL last December and isn't on the injury report for Miami's Week 1 game against the Raiders on Sunday, but the rookie wideout is still working back into game shape. While he won't be on a proverbial "pitch count" against Las Vegas, there's a chance the Dolphins use multiple receivers with some sort of rotation. Bell is listed as a starter, but he's highly unlikely to run 100 percent of the routes Sunday. He could develop into the team's No. 1 wide receiver by the end of the season.

Klare (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's season-opener versus San Francisco in Melbourne, Australia, Nate Atkins of The Athletic reports.

The Rams liked Klare enough to select him in the second round of the NFL Draft in April, but he's not going to be an option for the team in Week 1. Los Angeles has a crowded tight-end room that includes three veterans in Colby Parkinson, Tyler Higbee and Davis Allen along with second-year pro Terrance Ferguson, so Klare may not log much playing time this year as long as those above him in the pecking order are healthy.

Daniels (coach's decision) is a healthy scratch for Thursday's matchup versus San Francisco in Melbourne, Australia, Nate Atkins of The Athletic reports.

Daniels was able to make the Rams' 53-man roster with a strong showing during the preseason, but he isn't high enough in the pecking order at this point to be active on gameday. Los Angeles will roll with Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Jordan Whittington, Konata Mumpfield and Xavier Smith as its WR corps Thursday.

Atwell (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's tilt against the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, Nate Atkins of The Athletic reports.

Atwell was with the Dolphins during the offseason until the Rams traded for him Aug. 27, though he should be fairly well-versed in the team's playbook after spending each of the past five campaigns with Los Angeles. It seemed Atwell could have a fairly big role in the Dolphins' thin wideout corps, but now that he's back with the Rams, he'll be competing with the likes of Konata Mumpfield, Xavier Smith and Jordan Whittington for playing time (and active status) behind Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. It remains to be seen if Nacua will be suspended by the league at some point; if that were to happen, Atwell could move into a more significant role.

Simpson is inactive as the Rams' emergency third quarterback for Thursday's matchup against San Francisco in Melbourne, Australia, Nate Atkins of The Athletic reports.

It thus appears Stetson Bennett has won Los Angeles' No. 2 QB job, at least for the first game of the season. Simpson, who was taken by the Rams in the first round of April's NFL Draft, can make his NFL debut Thursday only if both starter Matthew Stafford and Bennett have to exit due to injury, illness, or ejection.

Lock is likely to start in Week 2 against the Cardinals, as Ian Rapoport of ESPN and NFL Network reports that Sam Darnold (hip) is expected to miss at least one game.

Lock stepped up in relief after Darnold was hurt in the first quarter of Wednesday's season opener, as the backup guided the Seahawks to a 13-10 win over the Patriots while finishing the game with 187 passing yards and one touchdown. Darnold hasn't officially been ruled out for Week 2, but the Seahawks are likely to take a cautious approach with their starting QB since the strength of Seattle's team is the defense, so Lock is in good position to hold the fort effectively while Darnold recovers. Lock has a 10-18 career regular-season record as a starter.

Bennett is set to work as the Rams' backup quarterback behind Matthew Stafford on Thursday versus San Francisco, Nate Atkins of The Athletic reports.

Rookie Ty Simpson has been deemed Los Angeles' emergency third quarterback for the season opener in Melbourne, Australia, leaving Bennett to serve as Stafford's backup. Bennett has yet to take an NFL regular-season snap and doesn't figure to see action Thursday unless Stafford has to exit early or the game turns into a blowout by either side.
