Brown (hamstring) was limited Friday in practice and if he is not at 100%, then Hurts passing upside is capped a bit. In addition, Saquon Barkley was the one to find the endzone on the ground when in the red zone last week. The Eagles quarterback will have rushing touchdowns in 2024, but the number compared to previous years is likely to come down and it makes Hurts' upside come down with it. All that said, Hurts faced plenty of adversity last week and was a solid fantasy option, and should be considered top five at his position heading into Monday night.

However, things will likely get sorted out ahead of the Eagles Week 2 meeting with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night. With that said, Hurts will remain a must-start in all fantasy formats.

In what should be a tightly contested game between two playoff hopefuls, Hurts should be considered a top three option during the opening week of the regular season.

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara had himself a day on Sunday in the 44-19 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The veteran rushed 20 times for 115 yards and three touchdowns, adding two catches for 65 yards and an additional touchdown through the air. It was a vintage Kamara performance, as the 29-year-old has looked reignited in Klint Kubiak's offense. In the second quarter, he showcased his explosiveness on a 57-yard touchdown reception to go up 21-6. Despite the matchup being tough on paper, Kamara still finished as the RB1 on the day. He should be in all lineups next week against Philadelphia.

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara had a strong Week 1, taking all of the high-quality touches out of the Saints' backfield. Kamara faces a much tougher matchup than the running back-friendly Carolina defense this week as New Orleans travels to Dallas on Sunday. Kamara should see a healthy enough volume to be placed in starting lineups, but the Cowboys' defense is a tough matchup for all positions. They surrendered just 54 rushing yards to running backs a week ago. The matchup knocks Kamara into RB2 range for this week.

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara looked good in Sunday's decisive win over the Panthers. The veteran ran the ball 15 times, accumulating 83 yards and a touchdown. He also got involved on the receiving end, catching all five targets for 27 yards. Kamara and the Saints had contract discussions over the last few months. However, a deal didn't get done, meaning further talks will likely wait until after the 2024-25 campaign. Despite not getting a new deal, Kamara remains focused on his play. "I'm not worried about it," said Kamara when asked about the unsuccessful negotiations. "I'm here to play. I'm gonna play. I'm gonna perform." It appears the 29-year-old is more focused than ever, which is great news for fantasy managers. Keep him starting in all formats when the Saints meet the Cowboys in Week 2.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson (quadriceps) is officially labeled day-to-day, per head coach Kevin O'Connell. Jefferson picked up a minor injury in the team's 23-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers this past Sunday. The superstar wideout reeled in four of seven targets for 133 yards and scored in the team's win, including a 97-yard bomb delivered by quarterback Sam Darnold while standing in his own end zone. Fantasy managers should anticipate the 25-year-old to appear on the team's injury report ahead of their Week 3 home matchup against the Houston Texans. It does not appear that he is in danger of missing time, although this is a situation to monitor for the time being. If Jefferson were to sit out, Jalen Nailor would assuredly see a more prominent role, especially if Jordan Addison (ankle) were still sidelined.

Los Angeles Chargers running back Gus Edwards led the Chargers backfield in carries in a Week 2 win over the Carolina Panthers. Edwards carried the ball 18 times, gaining 59 yards. He was not targeted in the passing game. Edwards' 18 carries led the backfield but his 59 yards were far less than the 131 put up by J.K. Dobbins. Edwards will continue to have a grinding and goal line role on this offense, but Dobbins has clearly lifted himself above Edwards in the pecking order. He will be a touchdown dependent fantasy option with mostly unpredictable boom and bust weeks going forward.

Los Angeles Chargers running back Gus Edwards will look to establish himself in his role in a Week 2 game against the Carolina Panthers. Edwards and J.K. Dobbins were expected to have an almost even share of the backfield this season, but in Week 1, Dobbins put up 139 combined yards while Edwards gained just 28. Edwards was on the field for 42% of the offensive snaps and ran just six passing routes compared to 17 for Dobbins. The way Edwards plays always makes him a threat to score a goal line touchdown, but he'll likely need to find the end zone in order to put up a decent fantasy performance. He's a risky RB3 even with an excellent matchup against a Panthers offense that was torched on the ground in Week 1.

Los Angeles Chargers running back Gus Edwards couldn't find too much room to run in a Week 1 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. Edwards ran the ball 11 times, gaining 26 yards. He caught his only target for a two yard gain. Edwards led the team in carries, but saw fellow running back J.K. Dobbins pick up 135 yards on 10 carries. Edwards will always have a role in this backfield, but if Dobbins stays healthy, Edwards could be in much more of a support role than expected.

Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott will face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2 on Monday night. The 29-year-old was perfect in the opener, nailing two short-field goals and converting all four of his extra-point attempts. While it was a good week for kickers around the league last week, Elliott remains a top-tier fantasy option going up against Atlanta, who just allowed Steelers kicker Chris Boswell to score six field goals against them in Week 1. Continue to fire up Elliott as an elite fantasy option in Week 2.

The veteran made both field goal attempts, successfully draining kicks from 38 yards and 21 yards, respectfully. He also made all four extra-point tries. Elliott, who signed a four-year extension this offseason, was one of the best fantasy kickers throughout the 2023-24 campaign. That's not expected to change, meaning he should remain in all fantasy lineups heading into the Eagles Week 2 showdown with the Falcons.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott struggled in the home opener, throwing two interceptions in a blowout 44-19 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Prescott went 27-for-39 with 293 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions while rushing for 12 yards on two attempts. The Cowboys seemed to have plenty of momentum heading into Week 2 after Prescott agreed to a lucrative contract extension, and the team secured a win over the Cleveland Browns. However, Prescott looked completely out of sync, throwing two first-half interceptions and getting sacked three times. While it's still too early to overreact, Prescott will look to bounce back against a tough Ravens defense that allowed 26 points to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott returns home for a Week 2 matchup against the New Orleans Saints for his first game in Dallas since signing a massive new contract. The Saints beat up on the Panthers in Week 1. Prescott, meanwhile, led Dallas to a runaway win at Cleveland in the opener and was 19-of-32 passing for 179 yards and a touchdown. The game got out of hand, so Prescott slowed things down a bit. In his return home, expect the Cowboys signal caller to be busier and thus have a better fantasy showing. Prescott figures to push for top-five fantasy quarterback status this season and he should this individual week as well. As he continues to build rapport with his top target CeeDee Lamb, his numbers should be better than Week 1. He will be without tight end Jake Ferguson but has plenty of other targets to spread the ball to. There is not much to take away from the Saints' defensive showing in Week 1 as the Panthers' offense was woeful. Start Prescott with confidence.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott led his team to a Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns. Prescott attempted 32 passes, completing 19 of them for 179 yards and a touchdown. He took three sacks, losing 16 yards and adding three back on one carry. He fumbled, but it was recovered by Dallas. The Cowboys defense and special teams were on fire in this one, leaving Prescott to not have to do too much. His touchdown pass went to Brandin Cooks on a 21-yard pass in the first quarter. The Cowboys will go home to face the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.

With Brown out, DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson will be Philly's top two receivers, with tight ends Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra also seeing more targets from quarterback Jalen Hurts in the passing game. We'll have a better idea of Brown's status for Week 3 when the Eagles return to practice on Wednesday, but fantasy managers should already be looking for a replacement. Browns is a must-start, high-end WR1 when healthy. He caught five of 10 targets for 119 yards and a TD in the Week 1 win over the Green Bay Packers.

The Eagles will move forward with DeVonta Smith as their No. 1 receiver on Monday with additional opportunities for Saquon Barkley and Dallas Goedert.Jahan Dotson should get more looks, too, but he's not a dependable option for fantasy lineups in leagues with 14 teams or fewer.

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said he will not rule out tight end David Njoku (ankle) for the Week 3 game against the New York Giants "yet." Njoku suffered an ankle sprain in the Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and was inactive in Sunday's 18-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Njoku is considered week-to-week with his ankle sprain, and depending on what he can do in practices this week, he could have a shot to return after missing just one game. Without the 28-year-old in Jacksonville, backup Jordan Akins caught his only target for a 10-yard gain on a day in which quarterback Deshaun Watson didn't look all that great again with 186 passing yards on 34 attempts. When healthy, Njoku is a low-end TE1 in what has looked like a lackluster Cleveland offense so far. Check back later this week to see if Njoku is able to return to the practice field.

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) will miss Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to an ankle injury. Njoku suffered the ankle injury in Week 1 and is considered week-to-week. The 28-year-old limped off the field after being rolled up on by an opposing defender in Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys and was feared to have a high ankle sprain. He has a history of foot and ankle issues, which is concerning for his future production. However, there aren't many good options for fantasy at tight end, so he's a must-start when he plays. Fellow Browns tight end Jordan Akins is the only other TE on the depth chart, but he logged just three receptions in 2023, so Njoku managers should look elsewhere for a replacement this week.

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski has indicated that tight end David Njoku is week-to-week with an ankle injury. Njoku sustained the injury at the end of a 29-yard catch-and-run during the Browns' second drive of the third quarter. He briefly visited the medical tent before heading to the locker room, and although he was initially listed as questionable to return, he did not re-enter the game. Njoku finished with four catches for 44 yards. He was named to his first Pro Bowl last season after a standout year in which he set career highs with 81 receptions, 882 yards, and 6 touchdowns. With Njoku and Jordan Akins as the only tight ends on the roster, it appears Akins will take over starting duties until Njoku is back. Akins is currently not a recommended fantasy option and is likely to be a touchdown-or-bust candidate.
