JuJu Smith-Schuster: Back to full health
Tuesday, September 15, 2026 9:33 PM Free Agent

Smith-Schuster (knee) had a tryout with the Jets on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Smith-Schuster was released by the Giants on Aug. 18 after dealing with a knee issue during training camp. The wide receiver now appears to be back to full health, but he seems unlikely to get a chance with the Jets. The team also worked out Tyler Johnson and Sterling Shepard, both of whom were signed to New York's practice squad Tuesday.

Chris Hilton: Cut from Green Bay's practice squad
Tuesday, September 15, 2026 9:18 PM Free Agent

The Packers cut Hilton from the practice squad Tuesday.

The undrafted free agent out of LSU signed with the Packers' practice squad on Sept. 1 after clearing waivers. Hilton will now likely look to sign with another team's practice squad for a shot at making his NFL debut in 2026.

Adam Prentice: Sees limited action Monday night
Tuesday, September 15, 2026 9:13 PM Free Agent

Prentice had zero carries during Monday's 31-10 loss against the Chiefs.

Prentice was elevated from the practice squad ahead of the meeting with the Chiefs. He logged just six snaps on offense, though he registered 19 on special teams. The 29-year-old appeared in all 17 regular-season games for Denver in 2025, totaling 10 carries for 44 yards, adding six catches for 53 yards.

Ihmir Smith-Marsette: Cut from practice squad
Tuesday, September 15, 2026 9:12 PM Free Agent

The Cardinals cut Smith-Marsette from the practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Smith-Marsette joined the Cardinals' practice squad after being released by the Cardinals in late August. The wide receiver has played in 48 career regular-season games, logging 14 receptions for 182 yards and two touchdowns.

Ben VanSumeren: Back with practice squad
Tuesday, September 15, 2026 9:11 PM Free Agent

VanSumeren reverted back to the practice squad with Kansas City on Tuesday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

VanSumeren was elevated to the active roster ahead of Monday night's 31-10 win over the Broncos, and he logged three snaps on offense. The fullback was also on the field for 22 snaps with the special-teams unit, securing two tackles, one of which was on kick coverage and the other on punt coverage. VanSumeren can be elevated two more times before the team would have to officially sign him to the active roster.

Miller Moss: Reverts to Chicago's practice squad
Tuesday, September 15, 2026 9:03 PM Free Agent

Moss reverted to the Bears' practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Moss was inactive for the Bears' 59-37 win over the Panthers last Sunday. The quarterback was elevated to the active roster as the emergency third quarterback if Tyson Bagent (back) was unable to fulfill the role due to injury. Bagent ended up recovering enough from his back injury to be listed as the No. 3 quarterback, and Moss was just inactive for the game.

Cyrus Allen: No production in regular-season debut
Tuesday, September 15, 2026 8:57 PM Gridiron Greats

Allen did not catch his only target during Monday night's 31-10 win over Denver.

Allen played only one snap on offense, failing to build off of the momentum he had built for himself in the preseason. The wide receiver was also on the field for four snaps with the special-teams unit. Allen appears to be a firm No. 4 option behind Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and Tyquan Thornton at wideout ahead of the team's matchup with the Colts in Week 2.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling: Joins Chargers' practice squad
Tuesday, September 15, 2026 8:43 PM Free Agent

The Chargers signed Valdes-Scantling to their practice squad Tuesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Valdes-Scantling spent training camp with the Cowboys but was released on cutdown day. Valdes-Scantling has ample NFL experience, though his numbers have dwindled since he recorded 687 receiving yards with Kansas City in 2022. Valdes-Scantling's signing may have been in response to top Chargers wideout Ladd McConkey being day-to-day due to a rib injury. With that said, Valdes-Scantling isn't likely to make a major fantasy impact at this point in his career even if he logs some time on the gameday roster.

Harrison Butker: Makes all five kicks in Week 1 win
Tuesday, September 15, 2026 8:32 PM Free Agent

Butker connected on his lone field-goal attempt and all four of his extra-point tries during the Chiefs' 31-10 win over the Broncos on Monday.

Butker's lone field goal was a 28-yard chip shot late in the third quarter, but most of his work came on extra-point tries and kickoffs in Monday's regular-season opener. The Chiefs' offense under Patrick Mahomes and coordinator Eric Bieniemy looked promising in Week 1, so Butker's scoring ceiling figures to be higher this year than it was in 2025. Kansas City will stay home for a Week 2 tilt against Indianapolis on Sunday.

Noah Gray: Logs one catch in Week 1 win
Tuesday, September 15, 2026 8:31 PM Free Agent

Gray finished Monday's 31-10 victory versus Denver with one catch (on one target) for five yards.

Gray's NFL career to this point has been performed in the shadow of Travis Kelce, and that was the case again in KC's season opener. Kelce led the Chiefs with 71 yards while drawing five targets, and Gray managed just a five-yard reception on his lone target. Gray did log 38 of Kansas City's 69 offensive snaps and contributed 15 special-teams snaps as well, so he has an important role for the Chiefs. However, Gray doesn't figure to put up consistent offensive numbers as long as Kelce is healthy.
