Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (leg) will undergo surgery in the middle of this week on the fractured fibula that he suffered in the Week 2 win over the Cincinnati Bengals and he's expected to miss at least six weeks, according to sources. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says that a six- to eight-week timetable is probably a best-case scenario, so the Chiefs will eventually place him on Injured Reserve, which will put him out for at least four games. If doctors find more ligament/tendon damage in Pacheco's leg when they open him up, it could be a longer road back for one of the best young RBs in the NFL. Fantasy managers obviously will want to stash Pacheco everywhere, while rookie Carson Steele immediately becomes one of the top waiver-wire targets this week. Samaje Perine should have an elevated role in KC's backfield as well and is worth a look in deep PPR formats with Pacheco injured.

Steele is the most appealing waiver-wire target currently on the roster after an impressive preseason performance, while Perine should gain more attention in PPR formats.

In a new report from Adam Schefter, Pacheco is expected to land on the IR which means he'll be out for at least four games, and could even miss more than that depending on further testing.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith will take on the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night in Week 2. The 25-year-old had a solid performance in the regular season opener, nabbing seven of his eight targets and racking up 84 receiving yards. He was outdone by teammate A.J. Brown (hamstring) but may be forced into the No. 1 role with Brown being marked as a limited participant in Friday's practice. Fantasy managers should have confidence starting Smith regardless of Brown's status on Monday, but his upside could creep into WR1 territory if the star receiver is forced to sit this week out.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith looked good in Friday's win over the Green Bay Packers. Although A.J. Brown was more productive, amassing five grabs for 119 yards and a touchdown, Smith still finished the night by pulling in seven catches for 84 yards. Fantasy managers would have loved to see the wideout find the end zone. However, it was an acceptable showing, especially with the sloppy field conditions in Brazil. Nonetheless, the Eagles will head home for a few days off before meeting the Atlanta Falcons for Monday Night Football in Week 2. Managers should keep Smith starting in all fantasy setups.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith will head to Brazil in Week 1 to face off against the Green Bay Packers on Friday night. The 25-year-old signed a three-year, $75 million extension this past offseason and had rave reviews coming out of training camp. While he did not touch the field in the preseason, none of the Eagles starters did either, and Smith is entering his prime. The addition of Jahan Dotson in a trade from the division rival Commanders may add another mouth to feed but makes Smith that much tougher to cover with the like of A.J. Brown on the other side of the field and running back Saquon Barkley needing to be accounted for. The Eagles No. 2 receiver should be considered a high-end WR2 most weeks including the regular season opener against the Packers.

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid caught four passes for 33 yards in the team's 31-10 victory over the Miami Dolphins. The final stat line isn't ideal, especially when Kincaid was quiet in Week 1. However, the Bills made a clear effort to involve Kincaid early. The 24-year-old caught Josh Allen's first two pass attempts of the game and again secured the first attempt on the first play of the second half. Because most of his receptions came in the flats, he ended with an underwhelming yardage total. The Bills won easily and only completed 13 passes. In a more competitive contest, Kincaid could have been a great start. He'll have another shot to put together a breakout game in Week 3 when the Bills host the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tight end Dalton Kincaid, considered to be the top receiving option in the Buffalo Bills' passing game, caught one pass for 11 yards in his season debut. Josh Allen connected with nine different receivers in Week 1, leaving Kincaid's fantasy managers clamoring for more. There are encouraging numbers for the second-year tight end. Allen only threw 23 times in the win over Arizona. He averaged 34 attempts per game in 2023. Kincaid was on the field for over 80% of the snaps and ran a route on over 80% of passing plays. The volume will eventually come. Don't panic with Kincaid just yet. There should be plenty of passing and points in Miami, one of the highest over/under lines of the Week 2 slate.

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid disappointed fantasy managers in Week 1, catching one pass for 11 yards on two targets. The breakout candidate was largely uninvolved in the offense, despite being on the field more than any other Buffalo skill position player. Second-string tight end Dawson Knox also saw two targets and caught one for 23 yards. Josh Allen didn't need to throw a lot to win (23 passes versus 33 running plays for the Bills). He completed passes to nine different receivers. Rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman led the team with four receptions. It's not time to panic about Kincaid yet. He'll be ranked as a TE1 when the Bills match up against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football.

Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore had a relatively quiet night by his usual standards despite making some impressive plays. He led the team with six catches for 53 yards but could not find the end zone. Through two games this season, Moore remains the favorite target of rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. Although the lack of touchdowns is a concern, Moore's high volume of targets has helped mitigate the absence of scoring. The Bears' offensive line is also a concern, as Williams was sacked seven times in this game. Williams has yet to throw a touchdown pass and has not surpassed 200 yards in either of his first two games. Despite these struggles, Moore's consistent target share and talent keep him a low-end WR2 for fantasy managers. As Williams continues to develop and the Bears' offense improves, Moore's production should rise. The Bears will look to make adjustments and find the end zone as they head to Indianapolis in Week 3.

Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore remains a solid WR2 option for this week's potential high-scoring matchup. Moore will look to bounce back from a modest Week 1 performance, where he recorded 36 receiving yards on five catches and added a 14-yard rush. With fellow wide receivers Keenan Allen (heel) and Rome Odunze (knee) not practicing and listed as questionable, Moore is poised for an increased target share. The Texans will be fielding rookie corner Kamari Lassiter alongside Derek Stingley, and Moore will likely test the rookie's coverage. The Texans' defense allowed a league-high 9.5 Net Yards per Attempt in Week 1, suggesting opportunities for explosive plays. Their vulnerability was evident in their game against the Colts, where Alec Pierce and Ashton Dulin caught long touchdown passes. Moore, known for his ability to capitalize on deep passes, averaged 14.2 yards per catch over his seven-year career, and he had five different games in 2023 in which he averaged over 16 yards per reception. If the offensive line can provide adequate protection, expect quarterback Caleb Williams to target Moore deep and frequently, mainly if Allen and Odunze are limited or sidelined. Moore should be a major focal point for an offense eager to improve upon its Week 1 performance.

Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore had a busy but ultimately unremarkable game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. He led the team with 36 receiving yards on five catches and added a 14-yard rush. Moore's day seemed at risk after he made two receptions for 12 yards and then took a hard fall out of bounds, prompting him to remove his helmet and struggle to get up. Fortunately, the injury was not severe; Moore walked off on his own and returned to the game shortly after that. Given the challenging matchup against cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, it was anticipated that Moore might have a subpar performance. However, he is expected to bounce back and perform better in the upcoming game against the high-scoring Houston Texans next week.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy fell short in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium. Purdy finished the game having completed 28 of 36 passes for 319 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He added two scrambles for 12 yards on the ground. Minnesota's defense kept the pressure on Purdy all afternoon, as he found himself absorbing a career-high six sacks. Purdy did make many quality throws and his lone interception came from a nice defensive deflection that may have been a simple incompletion if the ball hadn't popped upward in traffic over the middle. Purdy's other turnover happened when the ball slipped out of his hands as he threw and went directly to a waiting Jihad Ward, being ruled a fumble. Today's game represents the second disappointment in a row for fantasy owners. Next up for the 24-year-old signal-caller is a road matchup versus the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will try to pick up a second-straight win in a Week 2 matchup versus the Vikings in Minnesota on Sunday. He'll be going up against a defense that was almost exactly league-average in 2023 for fantasy points per game allowed to opposing quarterbacks, but who held Purdy to 272 yards, two interceptions, and one touchdown last year (albeit without stud tackle Trent Williams and receiver Deebo Samuel). The Vikings made mostly minor changes to their defensive personnel in the offseason, most notably losing standout edge rusher Danielle Hunter and replacing him with first-round pick Dallas Turner. In their opener last week, the Vikings made New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones look horrible but how much credit goes to the defense versus Jones' ineptitude is debatable. Last week, Purdy was solid but rather unhelpful for fantasy managers in a home victory over the New York Jets, with 231 yards passing, 11 yards rushing, and no touchdowns or picks. At any rate, he'll have his whole complement of receivers in this one -- save for running back Christian McCaffrey (Achilles) -- so Purdy should be in for a decent day, especially with wideout Brandon Aiyuk getting another week of practice under his belt. Look for Purdy to find the end zone in Week 2, as he sits on the fantasy QB1/2 border.

San Francisco dominated possession, holding the ball for 38 minutes and 40 seconds and scoring on eight offensive drives before taking a knee on their final possession. The 49ers ran 70 plays compared to the Jets' 49. As the season progresses, expect Purdy to deliver higher-scoring performances, with his next opportunity coming against the Vikings on Sunday.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren turned nine carries into 42 rushing yards and two catches into 19 receiving yards in a Week 2 win over the Denver Broncos. Warren, who saw just four opportunities in Pittsburgh's season opener, had a much more prominent role on Sunday and was effective with his touches. He continues to run behind teammate Najee Harris but could push for even more snaps next week as he works his way back from a hamstring injury. Although the third-year pro lacks touchdown upside, he is a skilled pass-catcher who should be rostered in PPR formats. He will project as an RB3 or low-end flex option against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3.

His pass-catching skillset gives him some appeal in PPR formats, but fantasy managers should not consider Warren as anything more than a low-end flex option until they see him split touches more evenly with running mate Najee Harris.

Although Harris led Pittsburgh's backfield for the second consecutive week, Jaylen Warren was much more involved on Sunday than in Week 1 and should continue to have a notable role in the offense. Through two games, the Steelers have established an identity as a team looking to run the ball and play shut-down defense, which does bode well for Harris' opportunities going forward. His fantasy value, however, will be limited without more frequent trips to the red zone. Harris will look to score his first touchdown of the season at home against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3.

The Broncos surrendered the third-most fantasy points to running backs in 2023 and the fourth-most to the position just last week. Because Pittsburgh has very few proven weapons in the passing game, it makes sense for offensive coordinator Arthur Smith to lean on the run, especially in this matchup. Jaylen Warren is likely to be given more opportunities as he continues to work his way back from injury, but Harris can be counted on as a volume-based RB2 with some touchdown upside against Denver.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris handled 20 carries for 70 yards and hauled in one of his two targets for nine yards in a Week 1 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Harris operated in a workhorse role on Sunday but should expect to lose some touches to Jaylen Warren, who had just returned from a hamstring injury, as the season progresses. Nonetheless, the 26-year-old Harris looked solid, especially on a powerful run that picked up 20 yards in the fourth quarter. However, Pittsburgh's offense will need to find a way to get the ball in the end zone for Harris to become a worthwhile fantasy option, making it difficult to trust him as anything more than a flex play heading into a Week 2 bout with the Denver Broncos.

When asked about wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle), Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said he's "hopeful" about his progress this week regarding his return to practice. Addison picked up an ankle injury in the team's 28-6 Week 1 victory over the New York Giants. Still, he hadn't made enough progress throughout the week to appear at practice in even a limited fashion. Giants linebacker Darius Muasau took down the second-year wideout with a "hip-drop" tackle -- one that has recently been deemed illegal -- and was fittingly fined for the unnecessary roughness. Expect an update on the 22-year-old over the coming days when the Vikings release their first official injury report of the week. If he cannot play, wide receiver Jordan Nailor will continue to fill in for Addison when the team takes on the Houston Texans at home in Week 3. Nailor has caught a touchdown in back-to-back weeks and hauled in 3-of-4 targets in Week 2 for 54 yards. He would be a low-end WR3/FLEX play.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) has been officially ruled out ahead of the Week 2 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Addison hasn't been able to practice all week as he continues to deal with soreness in his right ankle. Minneapolis Star Tribune's Ben Goessling writes that it appears that Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) will not play in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers. Addison isn't practicing for the third straight day on Friday, which typically means a player will not play that weekend. The Vikings haven't officially ruled the 22-year-old second-year wideout out, but it's likely coming. Fantasy managers that have him in their starting lineups need to make the change now. After an impressive rookie campaign, Addison's 2024 season is off to a bad start after he caught just three passes for 35 yards in the Week 1 win over the New York Giants while spraining his right ankle. With Addison looking unlikely to play this weekend, wideouts Jalen Nailor and Brandon Powell will fight for targets behind Justin Jefferson. Nailor is the better sleeper target for DFS lineups, albeit against a tough defense.

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth came down with all four of his targets for 39 receiving yards in a Week 2 victory over the Denver Broncos. It was fellow tight end Darnell Washington who scored Pittsburgh's first touchdown of the 2024 campaign, but Freiermuth continued to operate as a reliable weapon for quarterback Justin Fields. In its current state, the Steelers' offense doesn't offer much for fantasy managers to get excited about, but it's clear that Freiermuth has a significant role as one of the top pass-catchers on the roster. The 25-year-old will look to generate more production with his opportunities when facing the Los Angeles Chargers at home in Week 3.

Pittsburgh's offense is difficult to get excited about, but fantasy managers should be intrigued by Freiermuth as a low-end TE1 on Sunday.

With no wide receiver outside of Pickens earning more than two opportunities this week, Freiermuth could very well be the second option in the Steelers' passing attack moving forward. Fantasy managers can consider starting the 25-year-old in an enticing matchup against the Denver Broncos next week.
