As he continues to build rapport with his top target CeeDee Lamb, his numbers should be better than Week 1. He will be without tight end Jake Ferguson but has plenty of other targets to spread the ball to. There is not much to take away from the Saints' defensive showing in Week 1 as the Panthers' offense was woeful. Start Prescott with confidence.

The Cowboys will go home to face the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs had a good week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, posting 84 yards on 13 carries. Gibbs led the backfield in attempts and receptions, adding seven catches for 22 yards. Even though the first-round pick was kept out of the endzone, he had 20 total touches, leading the entire Detroit offense on Sunday. Gibbs has lived up to being a consensus first-round fantasy pick so far this year. Fantasy managers should have no problem starting him as an RB1 from here on out, even if he splits carries with David Montgomery. The Alabama product has a lot of fantasy upside and has shown that on the field over the first two weeks of the 2024 season. Gibbs remains a must-start against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3.

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs had a solid fantasy performance against the Los Angeles Rams, carrying the ball 11 times for 40 yards and a touchdown. Gibbs added four catches for 34 yards through the air. Although Gibbs is still splitting time with David Montgomery, he is a must-start, considering his high ceiling and elite pass-catching ability. He was tied for the second-most targets against the Rams and performed much better in the second half of the game. The Lions play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2, who gave up 101 receiving yards to running backs in Week 1. Gibbs is a must-start and should be in all fantasy lineups versus Tampa Bay.

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) is healthy and ready to go for his matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night. Gibbs hurt his hamstring a few weeks back at practice, but that is all behind him now as he enters a juicy Week 1 matchup with a 52.5 point over/under. The second-year back is coming off an exceptional rookie season in which he rushed for 945 yards and ten touchdowns on 182 carries (5.2 avg). He even chipped in an additional 52 receptions for 316 yards and a TD on 71 targets. All this despite eclipsing more than a 63% snap-share in 3-of-15 contests. Gibbs may get a little less work this week as he is eased back into action after his injury. However, he has proven his efficiency on limited touches in the past and is always a threat for a house call with the ball in his hands. The Alabama product is RotoBaller's RB8 heading into Sunday's slate.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb scored his first touchdown of the season with an electrifying 65-yard reception in Sunday's 44-19 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Lamb remained the focal point of the Cowboys' offense, seeing seven targets, the second-most on the team behind Jalen Tolbert's nine. For those just looking at the stat line, the Cowboys didn't take to the air much in the second half of Week 1. Expect more from Lamb in a home game against the Saints. The fact that he was involved with some rushes is also a good sign as he has the skill set to take an end-around to the house. Lamb should move around the formation and be involved early and often in Week 2 in what figures to be a more competitive game. Not that fantasy managers need reassurance to start a player likely drafted with a top 3 pick but Lamb should be fired up with a great deal of confidence.

Lamb missed the entire preseason while holding out for a contract extension, and at points it was unclear if he'd even play in Week 1. He did, of course, and saw 10 targets, making five catches for 61 yards. Lamb was the top overall fantasy pass catcher last season and has a good chance to do it again this season. He'll only heat up more and once he gets more up to speed he should distance himself from the rest of the Cowboys pass catchers. He'll be a weekly WR1 regardless of matchups.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer made just two catches in a Week 2 win over the Carolina Panthers. He was targeted twice, making both catches for a total of 19 yards. Palmer watched Quentin Johnston end up with two touchdowns, but the Chargers only completed 14 passes on 20 attempts, which limited all of their pass catchers. It could be like this for most of the season, which will be a knock for the fantasy value of all of the Chargers receivers. Palmer will have better weeks, but he might have more games like this as well.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer (knee) is officially active for the Week 2 contest against the Carolina Panthers on the road on Sunday. Palmer was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday before being listed as a DNP on Friday, putting his status in question for the team's first road game of the season. However, the 24-year-old will be good to go and should continue to start alongside rookie Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston with DJ Chark (hip) on Injured Reserve. Palmer caught just two passes for 15 yards in the season-opening win over the Las Vegas Raiders and was ejected in the contest, making it a forgettable season debut. However, he did play 81% of the offensive snaps prior to his ejection, and he makes for a WR4/flex with upside against a Panthers defense that was torched by quarterback Derek Carr and the Saints in Week 1.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer (knee) is "tracking to play" against the Carolina Panthers in Week 2 despite being listed as questionable, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 24-year-old receiver played 81 percent of snaps in last week's season opener but caught just two of his four targets for 15 yards through the air. He'll look to make a bigger contribution this week against a Panthers defense susceptible to surrendering points. Palmer ranks as a low-end WR3/FLEX, but his floor is a little worrisome.

New Orleans Saints kicker Blake Grupe was on fire in Week 1's win over Carolina. The second-year kicker drilled all five extra point attempts, along with all four field goal attempts. Two of his field goals came from 50+ yards out, showcasing improvement from last year. Grupe is a tougher start this week against the Dallas Cowboys, who gave up just 17 points last week to Cleveland. Despite his strong Week 1 performance, look elsewhere for a kicker in Week 2.

New Orleans Saints' second-year kicker Blake Grupe is an option at the kicker position heading into Week 1's tout with the Carolina Panthers. Grupe had a solid rookie season, converting 30-of-37 field goal attempts with a long of 55 yards. The Notre Dame product finished the season strong and will look to carry over his late-season success into Week 1. Carolina allowed the fourteenth-most points to kickers a season ago, making it a solid matchup for Grupe.

Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams had a promising start in Houston on Sunday but struggled in the second half. The No. 1 overall pick was impressive early, completing all five passes for 55 yards on the Bears' opening drive, including two notable third-down completions to DeAndre Carter and DJ Moore. Williams finished the first half with 12 completions on 15 attempts for 91 yards, but frequent mistakes by the Bears undermined his performance. The team had four false starts and a delay of game right after a TV timeout, failed to convert a third-and-1 with a quarterback sneak, and barely managed a fourth-and-inches conversion from the shotgun. The rookie also threw interceptions on consecutive drives in the second half, compounding the challenges. Despite these issues, Williams and the Bears had a chance to win with 1:37 left on the clock. Williams connected with Rome Odunze for a 27-yard gain on the first play of the drive, but two plays later, Danielle Hunter sacked him for an eight-yard loss, and a fourth-down pass to Odunze fell incomplete after a miscommunication. Williams ended the game with 23 completions on 37 attempts for 174 yards and two interceptions. With seven sacks and frequent pressure, Williams was forced into hurried throws and poor decisions. Until the Bears' offense improves, Williams is not a viable starting fantasy quarterback.

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert (chest) will not play on Thursday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. The 32-year-old missed practice on Monday and Tuesday with a chest injury. Mostert did not have a promising start to the season in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, rushing six times for nine yards and catching two passes for 10 yards. De'Von Achane (ankle) was also held out on Monday and Tuesday due to an ankle injury, so the injury concerns in this backfield are already coming to life. McDaniel said Achane's status could be up in the air. If Achane plays, he's a must-start option in all leagues. That said, either or both Jeff Wilson Jr. and rookie Jaylen Wright could see work behind him in Mostert's absence, making them low-end flex plays. If Achane can't suit up, both of Miami's backup running backs are flex dice rolls in leagues of 12 teams or more. Wright was a healthy inactive in Week 1, but he could get involved with injuries already piling up.

It's too early to tell whether this distribution of touches is a trend or an anomaly in Miami's backfield. Still, it's an intriguing development after head coach Mike McDaniel endorsed the tenth-year vet as the team's lead back during the off-season. Mostert and the Fins will be on short rest this week as they're slated to square off against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football. Expect a lot of action as this matchup presents a robust 51.5 combined point total.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown (hamstring) told ESPN's Lisa Salters that he expects to miss a couple of weeks due to the hamstring injury that he suffered in practice last Friday. Brown was ruled out of the Monday night contest against the visiting Atlanta Falcons in Week 2 and could also end up missing the Week 3 showdown in New Orleans against the 2-0 Saints. With Brown out, DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson will be Philly's top two receivers, with tight ends Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra also seeing more targets from quarterback Jalen Hurts in the passing game. We'll have a better idea of Brown's status for Week 3 when the Eagles return to practice on Wednesday, but fantasy managers should already be looking for a replacement. Browns is a must-start, high-end WR1 when healthy. He caught five of 10 targets for 119 yards and a TD in the Week 1 win over the Green Bay Packers.
