Head coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that he views Warren as "our featured player right now," Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

During the offseason, McCarthy said that he viewed the Steelers' backfield as a 50-50 split between Warren and Rico Dowdle (toe). However, Warren has solidified his RB1 role over the Steelers' last three games with Dowdle on the sidelines, with the former accumulating 490 yards and two touchdowns on 61 touches (49 carries, 12 catches on 16 targets) in that span. It appears Warren is the clear lead back for the Steelers even Dowdle returns, which could happen as soon as this Sunday against the Buccaneers.

Wilson is set to miss at least a couple of weeks due to a finger injury that he sustained during the Steelers' 34-22 win over the Colts on Sunday, so it's not surprising to see him already ruled out for Week 6. There's a chance he could return for Week 7 against the Saints on Sunday, Oct. 25, but in the absence of both Wilson and Michael Pittman (foot, IR), the Steelers will rely more heavily on DK Metcalf, rookie Germie Bernard, running back Jaylen Warren and tight end Pat Freiermuth in the passing game.

The Falcons have optimism that Penix (ribs) will be able to play Sunday against the Bears, Jonathan Jones and Josh Kendall of The Athletic report.

Penix took a hard hit to his rib area late in the fourth quarter and was unable to play in overtime of this past Sunday's 30-23 loss to the Ravens. He relayed afterward that he didn't think his rib injury was a long-term concern, and the Falcons are seemingly keeping the door open for him to start Week 6 against the Bears. Per Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com, head coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that he didn't have any new information regarding the status of Penix and wouldn't get into specifics regarding X-rays or imaging on the quarterback's ribs. Stefanski added that he expects to have a better understanding of Penix's Week 6 availability Wednesday.

Head coach Jesse Minter said Monday that Jackson is "definitely doing better" in his recovery from a sprained left ankle, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Jackson was held out of Sunday's 30-23 overtime win over the Falcons due to a left ankle sprain that he sustained during the Ravens' Week 4 win over the Titans. Minter added that he wasn't sure whether Jackson would be cleared to practice Wednesday, and the superstar quarterback's participation during Week 6 prep will ultimately determine whether he or Tyler Huntley starts against the Browns on Oct. 18.

Saints head coach Kellen Moore said Monday that Tyson (hamstring) is "progressing well" but isn't on track to return to practice this week, Jeff Nowak reports.

Tyson has resided on injured reserve all season after sustaining a right hamstring strain during an Aug. 13 training camp practice. Though the rookie first-round pick hasn't hit any reported snags in his recovery, the Saints aren't yet ready to open his 21-day practice window. Adam Schefter of ESPN previously reported that Tyson wouldn't make his NFL debut until Week 7, but because the young wideout hasn't resumed practicing yet, a return to game action following the Saints' Week 8 bye is probably more realistic at this point.

Browns head coach Todd Monken said that Judkins is considered day-to-day after sustaining a "tweak" to his ankle in Sunday's 17-12 loss to the Jets, and the running back hasn't been ruled out for a Week 6 game against the Ravens, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.

Though he was able to finish out Sunday's contest while accounting for 50 yards from scrimmage on 17 touches (14 carries, three receptions), Judkins handled a lower snap share (52.9 percent) than usual, likely due to the injury. The second-year back was spotted with a walking boot on his right foot following the game, but Monken's comments offer at least some optimism about Judkins' availability heading into Week 6. His practice participation Wednesday through Friday should help provide a clearer read on his status heading into next Sunday.

Head coach Todd Monken said Monday that there is a "possibility" that the Browns open the 21-day practice window for Sampson (knee) this week, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.

Sampson was placed on injured reserve in mid-September due to a left knee injury he sustained in Week 1 against the Jaguars. Monken opened the door for Sampson to be designated to return from IR during Week 6 prep, though his practice participation over the coming days would ultimately determine whether he would be ready to play against the Ravens on Sunday. Sampson's potential return could be an important one for the Browns, given that Quinshon Judkins (foot) and Raheim Sanders (hip) both left this past Sunday's 17-12 loss to the Jets due to their respective injuries.

Head coach Dave Canales said Monday that Coker is "on track" to return from a one-game absence against the Eagles on Sunday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Coker was unable to play against the Lions in Week 4 due to a quadriceps injury that he sustained during the Panthers' Week 3 loss to the Browns. He had extra time to rest courtesy of the Week 5 bye, and his practice participation over the coming days will provide more clarity on Coker's status ahead of Sunday's game. Brycen Tremayne and John Metchie would both continue to operate in elevated roles on offense if Coker is not cleared to return.

The Chiefs placed Thornton (ankle) on injured reserve Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

It was an inevitable move given that Thornton was diagnosed with a dislocated left ankle that he suffered during the Chiefs' Week 4 win over the Raiders. He's facing a 3-to-4 month recovery timeline, so there's a chance that he's activated off IR toward the tail end of the regular season or in the playoffs, assuming the Chiefs earn a postseason spot. Thornton was emerging as the team's WR3 behind Rashee Rice (hamstring) and Xavier Worthy prior to his injury. That No. 3 role could be filled by Jalen Royals, rookie fifth-rounder Cyrus Allen or Nikko Remigio, and that trio could see even more offensive snaps against the Chargers on Sunday if Rice is not cleared to play.

The Chiefs signed Watson to the practice squad Monday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.

Watson failed to make the Texans' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he'll get another opportunity with the Chiefs on the practice squad. The veteran wide receiver played three seasons in Kansas City from 2022 to 2024, and in that span, he caught 64 passes on 119 targets for 1,064 yards and seven touchdowns across 50 regular-season games (20 starts). Watson would be a top candidate for elevation to the Chiefs' active roster if Rashee Rice (hamstring) is not cleared to play against the Chargers on Sunday.
