San Francisco led the entire game -; save for the last two seconds -; largely propelled by Purdy's connection with receiver Jauan Jennings who caught all three of Purdy's touchdown passes and was his favorite and most productive target. The former seventh-rounder could have done even more for his team and fantasy managers but failed to see a wide-open Brandon Aiyuk streaking down the middle past the Rams' secondary in San Francisco's penultimate drive. Purdy and the Niners have a Week 4 home matchup against the New England Patriots next Sunday.

In Week 3, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy takes the team's 1-1 record into their first divisional game of 2024 in Los Angeles against the Rams in their home opener. Purdy is stuck on one touchdown through two weeks, but on the bright side, he is surprisingly leading the NFL in passing yards per game. The Rams are coming off a 41-10 road drubbing at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals, a game in which Kyler Murray threw for 226 yards and three passing touchdowns. Before that though, they kept Lions QB Jared Goff to 217 yards, one touchdown, and a pick in Detroit. Purdy will be without Deebo Samuel Sr. (calf) and probably George Kittle (hamstring) in this one, not to mention Christian McCaffrey (Achilles) who isn't expected to return for several more weeks. Even if Los Angeles' pass defense is as vulnerable as they looked last week, these injuries throw cold water on the matchup advantage. Put Purdy on the QB1/2 border with a slight boost if Kittle plays.

Purdy's other turnover happened when the ball slipped out of his hands as he threw and went directly to a waiting Jihad Ward, being ruled a fumble. Today's game represents the second disappointment in a row for fantasy owners. Next up for the 24-year-old signal-caller is a road matchup versus the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3.

Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones filled the rushing and receiving box score against the Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon. The former Green Bay Packer rusher compiled 19 rushing attempts for 102 yards on the ground, with five receptions for 46 yards and a receiving touchdown. One week after splitting touches nearly evenly with fellow rusher Ty Chandler, Jones was trusted with almost four times as many opportunities as the Vikings relied on their new running back. The soon-to-be 30-year-old rusher gets his first crack against his old team as the Vikings will travel to play a suspect Packers rush defense in Week 4.

Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones (hip) had a disappointing Week 2, ending the game as the overall RB32 in 0.5 PPR. That finish was a little misleading, however, as he had a goal-line fumble that was ultimately an eight-point swing if he had scored instead of coughing up the ball. Still, the former Green Bay Packer running back was out-carried by backup Ty Chandler, who had 50 more yards on the ground on only one more attempt. Jones was limited in practice this week with a hip issue but practiced in full on Thursday and doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. Jones still gets the bulk of the passing work and played a robust 61% of the snaps on offense, leaving him as a viable RB2 with low-end RB1 upside.

Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones (hip) was able to practice in full on Thursday after being limited to start the week on Wednesday. Unless Jones has a setback with his hip during Friday's practice, he should be ready to suit up for the Week 3 matchup against the 2-0 Houston Texans. Through his first two games in his first year in Minnesota, Jones has averaged a healthy 5.5 yards per carry on 23 rushing attempts, gaining 126 yards with one touchdown. He's added seven receptions for 51 yards through the air. The Vikings are going to continue to spell the 29-year-old with backup Ty Chandler, making him more of a touchdown-dependent RB2 for fantasy managers. Jones faces a tough matchup against Houston this week, too, with the Texans having allowed the third-fewest half-PPR fantasy points to opposing RBs in the first two weeks.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave led the team in production in Week 3, catching all six of his targets for 80 yards and snagging the go-ahead touchdown with two minutes left in what ended up being a 15-12 loss to the Eagles. Olave was also on the receiving end of New Orleans' longest play of the day, a 29-yard pass that helped to set up his eventual score. Olave's production was one of the few bright spots in the game as Derek Carr fought against heavy pressure and had a difficult time delivering the ball to other receivers. Fellow wideout Rashid Shaheed came up empty on his five targets and Alvin Kamara ended up as the second-leading receiver with three catches for 40 yards. In Week 4, the Saints face the Atlanta Falcons, who just gave up 110 yards and a touchdown to Rashee Rice.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave is still waiting for his first big game of the year. He opened the season with a dud and then followed it with a modest four-catch, 81-yard effort in Week 2 that would have looked much better had he not been stopped just short of the end zone. To be fair to Olave, game scripts have not been conducive to a voluminous passing attack as each of the Saints' first two games have been blowout victories. Things can change as soon as this week when the Philadelphia Eagles head to New Orleans. The matchup has one of the highest expected point totals on Sunday's slate and if the game does devolve into a shootout, then Olave should see more, and more lucrative, opportunities. The Eagles, who are giving up 16.7 yards per catch to opposing wide receivers, will have to work hard to contain Olave, who has the third-best average separation score in the league. Lock Olave into starting lineups in Week 3.

New Orleans Saints receiver Chris Olave had a promising Week 2 performance after a disappointing Week 1 showing. Olave was targeted six times, securing four receptions for 81 yards. His 37.5% target share was the most exciting part of the showing, as he saw just two targets in last week's win. Olave connected with quarterback Derek Carr on a 39-yard reception early in the game as the offense got rolling. Game script hasn't favored the passing game with the Saints winning in two blowouts so far, so Olave should only see better days ahead.

New York Giants wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson was a reliable target in Sunday's 21-15 win over the Cleveland Browns, showing his consistency in the passing game. Robinson hauled in seven of his eight targets for 61 yards, averaging 8.7 yards per reception, with his longest catch going for 28 yards. Though he didn't score a touchdown, his steady volume and efficiency make him a valuable asset in PPR formats. With his high target share and ability to generate yards after the catch, Robinson is emerging as a dependable WR3 or flex option in fantasy football, especially in matchups where short-yardage work is key.

Cleveland Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins missed his lone field-goal try while adding an extra point in a 21-15 loss to the New York Giants in Week 3. Hopkins misfired on a 53-yard attempt in the third quarter, his first miss from 50+ yards since joining the Browns before the 2023 season. Overall, Hopkins has made four of his five field goals and all four of his extra points through three games this season. He will kick against the Las Vegas Raiders on the road in Week 4.

Cleveland Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins is a perfect 4-for-4 on his field goals and has hit all three of his extra points through two games in 2024. He will look to stay hot in a home matchup against the New York Giants in Week 3. The Giants have been generous to opposing kickers thus far, allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game through two games. Hopkins settles in as a top-12 fantasy kicker heading into the Week 3 slate of games.

Cleveland Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins made all three of his field goals and added an extra point in an 18-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. Hopkins hit field goals from 53, 38, and 44 yards out in the victory. The veteran kicker has now made all four of his field-goal tries and all three of his extra points through the first two weeks of the season. He will look to remain perfect heading into Week 3's home matchup against the New York Giants.

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins has been decent in his first two games with his new team. He had a rough start to the season, throwing for 155 yards, one touchdown, and two picks versus the Steelers. However, the veteran signal-caller turned it around in the Week 2 meeting with the Eagles, tossing for 241 yards and two touchdowns while completing 69.0% of his attempts. Under normal circumstances, Cousins isn't always a lock to considered a starter in fantasy lineups from week to week. But with guys like Justin Herbert (ankle) and Jordan Love (knee) battling injuries, Cousins may be a safer option against a Chiefs defense that has struggled against opposing quarterbacks this season.

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins led a thrilling comeback to secure a 22-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night. Cousins completed 20 of 29 passes for 241 yards and two touchdowns. While the offense struggled in the first half, Cousins found his rhythm in the third quarter, connecting with receiver Darnell Mooney for a 41-yard touchdown to give the Falcons a 15-10 lead. Although the Eagles briefly retook the lead with a Jalen Hurts touchdown and a late field goal, Cousins orchestrated a decisive drive in the final 1:39. Starting from their own 30-yard line, Cousins completed 4 of 5 passes, culminating in a 7-yard touchdown pass to Drake London to tie the game. Cousins will look to build on this performance when the Falcons face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3. With his current form, Cousins remains a matchup-dependent fringe QB1.

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins had an underwhelming debut for his new team in Week 1. He has an equally tough, if not more challenging, matchup this Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles. It's not necessarily due to the Eagles' defense, who allowed 280 yards passing to Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers the week prior, but because of the high expectations and the pressure to perform to a much higher standard than his Week 1 showing. The Falcons could be down early and often, providing value for fantasy managers this week. Still, it is not wise to start Kirk Cousins in any lineups in any 10 or 12-team leagues until we see the camaraderie and potential this team could truly have. Cousins is mainly an option in superflex or 2QB leagues, ranking 21st among all quarterbacks in the latest RotoBaller Week 2 rankings.

Cleveland Browns running back Pierre Strong Jr. (hamstring) was officially a non-participant in the Browns' Wednesday practice. The third-year RB suffered the injury in Cleveland's 18-13 road victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Strong would be week-to-week; thus, it stands to reason that he could miss at least one game. On the season so far, he's toted the rock just three times for five yards, though he does lead backfield mates D'Onta Foreman and Jerome Ford in receiving yards (30) on three catches. Strong also contributes in the return game, totaling 25 yards on his lone kickoff return. Expect Ford and Foreman to divvy up Strong's touches while he is on the shelf, with Jaelon Darden and James Proche II handling return duties. Cleveland will face off against the Browns at home this Sunday.

Strong will remain off the fantasy radar even if he's healthy enough to play in Week 3.

Indianapolis Colts running back Trey Sermon ran the ball two times for 16 yards and a touchdown in the team's win over the Chicago Bears. Sermon was out-touched by RB Jonathan Taylor 23-2, but he did receive a carry on the goal line, and he was able to punch in for a touchdown. It's clear that Taylor is the only fantasy-viable running back in this offense given the current splits in usage, but it is worth noting that Sermon has been the only back outside Taylor to see touches on the season. Fantasy managers with Taylor on their roster should look to ensure they are rostering Sermon in the event of injury. Aside from that, Sermon is off the radar in the team's upcoming Week 4 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth caught four of his five targets for 33 yards in a home win against the Los Angeles Chargers. For a third consecutive week to start the season, Freiermuth finished with four receptions but less than 40 yards. Although he clearly has a prominent role in offensive coordinator Arthur Smith's system, it hasn't yet amounted to much in the way of fantasy production. Nonetheless, a tight end with this level of usage cannot be ignored. Fantasy managers can continue to view Freiermuth as a middling option with a high floor in PPR formats against the Indianapolis Colts next week.

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth has been quiet to start his fourth professional campaign and will hope to turn things around against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3. Although the Chargers have surrendered the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends through two weeks of the season, this contest isn't expected to offer much in the way of offensive firepower. That said, Freiermuth is tied for the team lead in receptions and has the second-most targets in Pittsburgh thus far this season, so his role in the offense should remain consistent. Given the landscape of the tight end position in fantasy right now, there are very few options that offer both a high ceiling and a safe floor. Freiermuth seems to have the latter, making him a fine yet uninspiring low-end TE1 or high-end TE2 on Sunday.

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth came down with all four of his targets for 39 receiving yards in a Week 2 victory over the Denver Broncos. It was fellow tight end Darnell Washington who scored Pittsburgh's first touchdown of the 2024 campaign, but Freiermuth continued to operate as a reliable weapon for quarterback Justin Fields. In its current state, the Steelers' offense doesn't offer much for fantasy managers to get excited about, but it's clear that Freiermuth has a significant role as one of the top pass-catchers on the roster. The 25-year-old will look to generate more production with his opportunities when facing the Los Angeles Chargers at home in Week 3.
