Travis Kelce: Vintage performance on MNF
Monday, October 27, 2025 11:53 PM

Kelce finished with six receptions (on eight targets) for 99 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 28-7 win over the Commanders.

Kelce turned back the clock with a vintage stat line while leading his club in receiving in a one-sided victory. It also was the most yards the star tight end has recorded in a game through eight starts in 2025. The return of top wideout Rashee Rice in Week 7 has not cut into Kelce's production, with the latter averaging 4.5 receptions and 76.5 yards in the two games QB Patrick Mahomes' top targets have been active together this year. Look for Kelce to remain involved against the Bills in a matchup between AFC contenders Sunday.

Jeremy McNichols: Paces pass catchers in loss
Monday, October 27, 2025 11:51 PM

McNichols rushed once for four yards and brought in five of six targets for 64 yards in the Commanders' 28-7 loss to the Chiefs on Monday night.

The veteran running back was once again minimally involved on the ground, but he posted team-high and season-best reception and receiving yardage totals. McNichols also tied for the team lead in targets while setting a new season-long high-water mark in that category, and he projects to remain in a similar role irrespective of who's under center for the Commanders in a Week 9 home matchup against the Seahawks on Sunday night.

Zach Ertz: Sub-20-yard effort in loss
Monday, October 27, 2025 11:46 PM

Ertz secured four of six targets for 16 yards in the Commanders' 28-7 loss to the Chiefs on Monday night.

Ertz's yardage total was his lowest for any game this season where he recorded a catch, even as he hit the six-target threshold for the third consecutive game. The veteran tight end's late first-quarter grab was also the subject of some controversy, as Ertz appeared to gain the necessary six yards for a first down on a fourth-down play before a virtual measurement reduced the gain to five yards, leading to a turnover on downs. Ertz has eclipsed 43 receiving yards just once this season, leaving him with muted fantasy prospects heading into a Week 9 home matchup against the Seahawks on Sunday night.

Harrison Butker: Boots four extra points in victory
Monday, October 27, 2025 11:46 PM

Butker converted all four of his extra-point tries and didn't attempt a field goal in Monday's 28-7 win over the Commanders.

It was a relatively quiet night for Butker with Kansas City getting into the end zone four times. It was the second time this season Butker has finished a contest without a made field goal. He's 12-for-15 on field-goal tries this season.

Deebo Samuel: Minuscule production in return
Monday, October 27, 2025 11:42 PM

Samuel (heel) brought in three of six targets for 11 yards and rushed once for one yard in the Commanders' 28-7 loss to the Chiefs on Monday night.

Samuel's return from a one-game absence did next to nothing to boost the offense, one that was led by QB Marcus Mariota due to Jayden Daniels' (hamstring) absence. The veteran wideout tied a season low in receiving yards, and he has an anemic 7-26-0 line on 11 targets over his last two appearances overall. Samuel could be a primary beneficiary if Daniels is able to return for Sunday night's Week 9 matchup against the Seahawks.

Matthew Wright: Miniscule workload during MNF
Monday, October 27, 2025 11:41 PM

Wright did not attempt a field goal and made his only extra-point try in Monday night's 28-7 loss to the Chiefs.

Wright was elevated from the practice squad to start in place of Matt Gay (back) in Week 8, but he ultimately wasn't overly busy in the defeat. The kicker has now made two spot starts with the Titans and Commanders this season, making his only field-goal attempt while going 2-for-2 on PATs. If Gay is unavailable for Washington's Week 9 matchup with the Seahawks, Wright would likely be elevated again.

Terry McLaurin: Downplays quad injury
Monday, October 27, 2025 11:39 PM

McLaurin said after Monday night's loss to the Chiefs that his quad is "alright," and he'll take it "day by day," Tashan Reed of The Washington Post reports.

McLaurin left the game in the fourth quarter with the Commanders trailing by multiple touchdowns, so perhaps it was a bit precautionary on Washington's end to keep him out for the remainder of the contest. However, it does sound like the veteran wideout did aggravate the previous quad injury that kept him out the previous four games prior to his return to action Monday. The Commanders now are on a short week ahead of next Sunday's home game against the Seahawks. McLaurin should be considered questionable for the Week 9 affair.

Patrick Mahomes: Fills stat sheet in comfortable win
Monday, October 27, 2025 11:36 PM

Mahomes completed 25 of 34 pass attempts for 299 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions while adding 30 rushing yards on four attempts in Monday's 28-7 win over Washington.

Mahomes got off to a rocky start when he was picked off on Kansas City's first two offensive drives in Monday's primetime matchup. The resilient superstar settled in after halftime, rattling off three touchdown passes on consecutive drives out of the break. It was Mahomes' first start committing multiple turnovers this season, but it also was his third-straight appearance recording three scores for fantasy managers. The 29-year-old is putting up elite numbers again in 2025 after taking a step back over the previous two years. Mahomes checks in with 2,099 passing yards and 21 total touchdowns through eight starts as the Chiefs prepare to face Josh Allen and the Bills on Sunday in a Week 9 showdown of elite quarterbacks.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt: Little with nine touches Monday
Monday, October 27, 2025 11:34 PM

Croskey-Merritt rushed nine times for 25 yards and failed to bring in his only target in the Commanders' 28-7 loss to the Chiefs on Monday night.

Croskey-Merritt was held under 3.0 yards per carry for the second consecutive game in what was a second straight lopsided loss for the Commanders. The rookie back outpaced backfield mates Chris Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols by eight carries each, but McNichols was much more involved in the passing game while recording a team-high five catches and 64 yards while also logging a co-team-high six targets. Meanwhile, Croskey-Merritt continued to be an afterthought in the passing game, a trend that conspires to limit his fantasy value when rushing opportunities and/or running room is at a premium. The outlook doesn't get any rosier Week 9, as the Commanders welcome a tough Seahawks defense to town for a Sunday night showdown.

Devaughn Vele: Catches one pass versus Tampa
Monday, October 27, 2025 11:30 PM

Vele compiled one reception (on five targets) for 10 yards during Sunday's 23-3 loss versus the Buccaneers.

Vele failed to capitalize on his season-high five targets. The 27-year-old has gone without a target in three of the seven games he's played so far this season. The Saints benched starting quarterback Spencer Rattler for rookie Tyler Shough in the third quarter, but they still finished with 51 passing attempts as a team. Regardless of who's under center for New Orleans, Vele and veteran wideout Brandin Cooks should continue to see limited targets while operating behind New Orleans' top three pass-catchers, Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and tight end Juwan Johnson. The Saints' next game will be against the Rams in Week 8.
