Tyquan Thornton: Returning to KC
Monday, March 9, 2026 11:07 PM
Thornton (concussion) is set to re-sign with the Chiefs, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports. It's a two-year, $11 million deal, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
After spending his first three seasons with New England, Thornton joined Kansas City ahead of the 2025 campaign and ended up posting career-best marks of 438 yards and three touchdowns on 19 receptions. He also contributed 475 kick-return yards on 18 opportunities. The speedy wideout gives KC a legitimate downfield threat, as he averaged 23.1 yards per catch last year. Thornton ended the season on IR due to a concussion, but there's no indication that the head injury will carry into offseason activities. He'll likely retain a depth wideout role in 2026, though he could move up in the pecking order depending on how else the Chiefs address their wideout corps during the offseason, as both Hollywood Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster are unrestricted free agents.

Matt Gay: Moving to Vegas
Monday, March 9, 2026 10:18 PM
Gay is set to sign with the Raiders, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Gay began last season with Washington but was cut in mid-November after going 13-for-19 on field-goal tries. He then signed with San Francisco and went a perfect 8-for-8 on field-goal attempts, but he was just holding down the fort in the absence of Eddy Pineiro and was ultimately cut upon Pineiro's return. Gay's signing likely means that Daniel Carlson, who is an unrestricted free agent, won't return to Las Vegas after eight seasons with the franchise.

Hayden Hurst: Announces retirement
Monday, March 9, 2026 9:56 PM
Hurst announced his retirement from the NFL after seven seasons Monday.
Hurst was a free agent for the entirety of the 2025 campaign, and he will now officially walk away from football. The tight end will finish his NFL career having caught 203 of 294 targets for 1,975 yards and 15 touchdowns over 88 games with the Ravens, Falcons, Bengals, Panthers and Chargers.

Kyle Allen: Forming Allen-Allen QB room in BUF
Monday, March 9, 2026 7:46 PM
Allen is set to sign a two-year, $4.1 million contract with the Bills, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Allen has spent most of his career as a backup and played in three games for Detroit last season, going 0-for-2 on pass attempts. With Buffalo, he'll likely be the No. 2 QB behind Josh Allen and replace previous backup Mitchell Trubisky, who is expected to sign with Tennessee. Kyle Allen's contract could be worth up to $6.1 million with incentives, per Schefter.

Andrew Beck: Re-signs with NYJ
Monday, March 9, 2026 7:45 PM
The Jets and Beck agreed to a one-year, $1.5 million contract Monday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
Beck appeared in all 17 regular-season games for the Jets in 2025, finishing with one carry for five yards and six catches (on nine targets) for 45 yards and two touchdowns. Beck will return for 2026 and serve as the team's main backfield blocker while also contributing on special teams.

Johnny Mundt: Let go by Jacksonville
Monday, March 9, 2026 7:33 PM
The Jaguars released Mundt on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Mundt signed a two-year deal with the Jaguars in March of 2025 after spending the three prior years with the Vikings, but his time in Jacksonville will end after just one season. He caught nine passes (on 19 targets) for 111 yards across 16 regular-season games in 2025, when he served mostly as a run blocker and as a backup to Brenton Strange. Now that he's a free agent, Mundt should garner interest from teams looking to add a depth tight end who can serve as an extra blocker.

Rico Dowdle: Headed to Pittsburgh
Monday, March 9, 2026 7:29 PM
Dowdle is slated to sign with the Steelers, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
Terms of the contract aren't immediately available, but Dowdle appears set to move over to the AFC after one year in Carolina. He produced a 236-1,076-6 regular-season rushing line last season with the Panthers, which was nearly identical to the 235-1,079-2 line he posted during his 2024 breakout campaign with the Cowboys. Dowdle also caught exactly 39 passes each of the past two seasons, totaling 546 yards and four touchdowns, and he's chipped in as a kick returner throughout his career. The Steelers have Jaylen Warren locked in as their primary RB, so Dowdle figures to form a 1-2 punch with the incumbent starter, though his role may be somewhat different from that of Kenneth Gainwell, who featured as a pass catcher in 2025 but is departing in free agency to Tampa Bay.

Kendrick Bourne: Scooped up by Arizona
Monday, March 9, 2026 7:09 PM
Bourne is slated to signed a two-year contract with the Cardinals, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
Bourne's pending addition brings a more reliable No. 3 WR to Arizona than Greg Dortch, who is an unrestricted free agent. In 16 regular-season games in 2025, Bourne filled in nicely in a 49ers receiving corps beset by injuries, finishing with 37 catches (on 53 targets) for 551 yards and no touchdowns. Bourne will line up behind holdovers Marvin Harrison (foot) and Michael Wilson with the Cardinals.

Isaiah Hodgins: Re-signing with NYG
Monday, March 9, 2026 6:48 PM
The Giants re-signed Hodgins to a one-year contract Monday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
Hodgins was signed to the Giants' active roster in mid-November after opening the season on the Steelers' practice squad. He appeared in seven regular-season games for the Giants and finished with 10 catches (on 19 targets) for 115 yards and one touchdown. Hodgins will enter training camp in the summer competing for a spot on the Giants' 53-man roster for the 2026 season.

Kenny Pickett: Moving on to Carolina
Monday, March 9, 2026 6:32 PM
Pickett is slated to sign a one-year contract with the Panthers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Journeyman QB Andy Dalton remains under contract with the Panthers, but considering his guaranteed money ($2 million) is half that of Pickett's, the latter seems poised to be Bryce Young's backup in 2026 while Dalton could see himself cut for minimal cap savings. Since moving on from Pittsburgh after the 2023 season, Pickett has made 11 appearances (three starts) the last two campaigns between the Eagles and Raiders, completing 53 of 87 passes (60.9 percent) for 479 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions, rushing 14 times for 37 yards and one more score and fumbling twice (one lost).
