Ricky Pearsall: Set to play through injuries
Sunday, December 28, 2025 9:25 AM

Pearsall (ankle/knee) remains listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears but is likely to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Pearsall was unavailable for the 49ers' 48-27 win over the Colts this past Monday while managing his pair of injuries, but after a trio of limited practices in Week 17 prep, he appears to have made enough progress to give it a go Sunday. Assuming Pearsall is officially cleared when the 49ers release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to the game's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff, he could be in line for a couple extra targets since San Francisco is expected to be without star tight end George Kittle (ankle), per Schefter. Kittle -- who is officially listed as questionable for Week 17 -- exited Monday's win due to the left ankle sprain and is unlikely to play after he failed to practice in any fashion Wednesday through Friday.

George Kittle: Trending toward Week 17 absence
Sunday, December 28, 2025 9:16 AM

Kittle (ankle) remains listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears but is considered "highly unlikely" to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network had previously reported late Saturday that Kittle planned to test out his sprained left ankle in a pregame workout before the 49ers reached a decision on his status for the Week 17 contest, but Schefter's report is much more pessimistic about the star tight end's ability to play through the injury. Though official word on Kittle's status will arrive when the 49ers release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff, his fantasy managers are probably best served pivoting to another option at tight end for Week 17 matchups. Assuming Kittle ends up being inactive for the contest, more snaps would open up at tight end for both Luke Farrell and Jake Tonges, with the latter representing the bigger pass-catching threat of the two.

Malik Willis: Uncertain to start Week 18
Sunday, December 28, 2025 9:10 AM

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was non-committal after Saturday's 41-24 loss to the Ravens regarding whether Willis (shoulder) or Jordan Love (concussion) would start Week 18 against the Vikings, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

With Love inactive for the first time all season in Week 17 after being placed in concussion protocol, Willis -- who had been listed as questionable heading into Saturday due to a right shoulder injury and illness -- was called upon to make a spot start. Though the Green Bay defense couldn't slow down the Derrick Henry-led Baltimore ground attack, Willis did his part to keep the Packers competitive. The dual-threat signal-caller carved up the Ravens for 60 yards and two scores on nine carries and completed 18 of 21 passes for 288 yards and one touchdown before he exited the contest midway through the fourth quarter after he appeared to aggravate his shoulder injury on a throw. Though Willis didn't check back into the game following a brief trip to the locker room, Demovsky relays that the 26-year-old was available to return to the game and likely would have replaced third-stringer Clayton Tune at quarterback for the Packers' ensuing possession had the Ravens not extended their lead to 17 with less than two minutes remaining. As a result of the loss, the Packers are locked into the No. 7 seed in the NFC playoffs, a reality that could prompt LaFleur to exercise caution with the usage of either or both Love and Willis in the regular-season finale. Expect LaFleur to shed more light on his plans at quarterback when the Packers reconvene Wednesday for their first official Week 18 practice.

Xavier Hutchinson: Two grabs in win
Sunday, December 28, 2025 8:21 AM

Hutchinson caught two of three targets for 21 yards in Saturday's 20-16 win over the Chargers in Week 17. He also had one carry for eight yards.

Hutchinson continued in a minor offensive role over the second half of the season. During Houston's eight-game win streak, he has nine receptions on 19 targets for 122 yards.

Jaylin Noel: Makes impact in win
Sunday, December 28, 2025 7:52 AM

Noel caught three of four targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 20-16 win over the Chargers in Week 17. He also had one carry for two yards.

It was a big day for Houston's rookie wideouts, as both Noel and Jayden Higgins scored on the team's first two possessions. With Los Angeles' defense paying extra attention to Nico Collins, Noel was one-on-one and beat Elijah Molden deep on a post route for a 43-yard score. It was the second touchdown of the season for the rookie, whose inconsistent production from week to week makes him a hard start for fantasy managers. Noel has seven receptions on 10 targets for 82 yards over the last seven games.

Christian Kirk: Target leader in win
Sunday, December 28, 2025 7:37 AM

Kirk caught two of five targets for one yard in Saturday's 20-16 win over the Chargers in Week 17.

Kirk led the Texans in targets, but it didn't translate to meaningful production, and his 29 snaps the fourth most among the team's wideouts. His profile in the offense was minimized weeks ago, as rookie Jayden Higgins moved ahead of Kirk, who has been dogged by injuries in 2025. Houston's shift to a ball control attack also played a role in minimizing Kirk's output. He has just 44 receiving yards over the last five games.

Nick Chubb: Minimal use in win
Sunday, December 28, 2025 7:26 AM

Chubb had one carry for one yard on five snaps in Saturday's 20-16 win over the Chargers in Week 17.

Chubb was impacted by the presence of Woody Marks (44 snaps), who returned to the lineup following two weeks of inactivity due to an ankle injury. A playing-time split that favored Marks is not surprising, but that Chubb finished behind Jawhar Jordan (11 snaps) is a more recent development, one that started Week 16. Chubb has just eight carries and one reception for a combined 46 yards from scrimmage over the last three games.

Clayton Tune: Closes out Week 17 loss
Sunday, December 28, 2025 1:29 AM

Tune completed one of four passes for eight yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Saturday's 41-24 loss to the Ravens.

Malik Willis (shoulder) started and played the majority of Saturday's game, though he was forced to exit late in the fourth quarter. Tune entered in relief and threw an interception on his first attempt, despite hitting his receiver on the hands with the pass. His lone completion went to Emanuel Wilson, and Tune could be in line to start in Week 18 if the Packers don't have playoff seeding to play for.

Keaton Mitchell: Earns11 touches
Sunday, December 28, 2025 1:21 AM

Mitchell rushed the ball nine times for 31 yards in Saturday's 41-24 win over the Packers. He added two receptions on two targets for seven yards.

Derrick Henry headlined the Baltimore offense and dominated touches out of the backfield, though Mitchell continued to serve as the complementary back. Mitchell reached double-digit touches for the first time this season in a run-heavy game script for Baltimore, though it still wasn't a particularly noteworthy fantasy performance. He could get some additional opportunity in Week 18 if the Ravens are eliminated from playoff contention.

Mark Andrews: Limited production on four targets
Sunday, December 28, 2025 1:15 AM

Andrews recorded four receptions on four targets for 28 yards in Saturday's 41-24 loss to the Packers.

Andrews finished second on the team in targets, though there was limited opportunity due to Baltimore attempting only 20 passes. Tyler Huntley also worked almost exclusively in short areas of the field, limiting Andrews' longest reception to only nine yards. He now has fewer than 30 receiving yards in four straight contests and in five of his last six matchups.
