Malik Nabers: No concerns for training camp
Wednesday, June 18, 2025 11:29 AM
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Nabers (toe) will not participate in mandatory minicamp but there are no concerns about his availability for training camp, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Nabers missed spring OTAs and will now also sit out mandatory minicamp due to a toe injury that he reportedly dealt with in college and his rookie season, but which never required him to miss games or undergo an offseason procedure. New York simply appears to be taking a cautious approach to the budding superstar's health, with Daboll saying that the team is confident a rehab plan has been the best thing for Nabers, per Connor Hughes of SNY.tv. Daboll wasn't forthcoming with an exact recovery timetable, but the expectation should be that Nabers will be ready to kick off training camp late July as a full participant. Expectations for the 2024 first-rounder are high after he compiled a 109-1,204-7 receiving line (on 170 targets) across 15 regular-season games as a rookie, and any option among new quarterback trio Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and Jaxson Dart would look like an upgrade over last year's signal-callers.

Anders Carlson: Cut loose by Jets
Wednesday, June 18, 2025 10:07 AM
The Jets are releasing Carlson, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
In related news, the team is signing Harrison Mevis as Carlson's replacement to compete with Caden Davis for the placekicker job. Carlson could get end up with another team this summer, but it isn't a great sign for his future that the Jets released him before training camp.

Dont'e Thornton: Working with starters
Tuesday, June 17, 2025 9:42 PM
Thornton was working with the Raiders' starters during Monday's mandatory minicamp practice, Jonathan Williams of Sports Illustrated reports.
Thornton was selected in the fourth round of the 2025 draft after catching 26 passes for 661 yards and six touchdowns during his final year at Tennessee, and he already appears to be carving out a role for himself in Las Vegas' offense. As the team currently lacks proven talent at the position behind Jakobi Meyers, Thornton could end up serving as one of the team's top wideouts early on in his rookie season.

Harrison Mevis: Latches on with Jets
Tuesday, June 17, 2025 4:57 PM
The Jets signed Mevis to a contract Tuesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Mevis spent time with Carolina in 2024 after going undrafted out of Missouri, but he wasn't able to stick on the Panthers' regular-season roster. He resurfaced with the Birmingham Stallions of the UFL for their 2025 season, converting 20 of 21 field-goal attempts. Mevis now joins a kicker competition that includes Caden Davis and Anders Carlson, with the latter being the favorite to win the starting job ahead of Week 1.

Jase McClellan: Let go by Atlanta
Tuesday, June 17, 2025 4:43 PM
The Falcons waived McClellan (knee) on Tuesday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.
McClellan managed just two regular-season appearances as a rookie in 2024, gaining 32 yards on 13 carries. While the 2024 sixth-round pick appears recovered from the knee injury that forced him to finish his rookie campaign on IR, he'll now have to search elsewhere for a chance to compete for a depth role. Jashaun Corbin takes McClellan's spot on the Falcons roster.

Jashaun Corbin: Gets chance with Falcons
Tuesday, June 17, 2025 4:40 PM
Atlanta signed Corbin (undisclosed) to a contract Tuesday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.
Corbin spent time with the Giants last offseason but was waived/injured ahead of Week 1. He then resurfaced with the San Antonio Brahmas and led the UFL in rushing yards during the 2025 season. His only NFL action came in 2023, when he handled primarily a special-teams role for the Giants in six regular-season games. The Falcons waived Jase McClellan (knee) in a corresponding move.

Jared Wiley: Working with knee brace
Tuesday, June 17, 2025 1:03 PM
Wiley (ACL) is participating in positional drills at mandatory minicamp Tuesday with a brace on his right knee, Sports Radio 810 WHB reports.
Head coach Andy Reid said in April that Wiley, who tore his ACL last November, is doing well in his recovery. It's encouraging that he's already taking part in individual drills, but the 2024 fourth-round pick may not be fully cleared for training camp or Week 1. Noah Gray remains positioned as the No. 2 tight end behind Travis Kelce for Kansas City, so once fully recovered Wiley will likely find himself competing with Robert Tonyan for the No. 3 spot.

Jalin Hyatt: Exits practice with injury
Tuesday, June 17, 2025 12:38 PM
Hyatt departed Tuesday's mandatory minicamp practice early due to an apparent left leg injury, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Hyatt had his left leg stretched by a trainer after exiting a practice drill early. The 2023 third-round pick has gotten extra first-team reps with new quarterback Russell Wilson to start minicamp, as Malik Nabers (toe) is still limited, but he'll need to stay healthy to continue benefitting from the opportunity. Across 33 career NFL regular-season games, Hyatt has 31 catches for 435 yards and zero touchdowns on 59 targets.

Jordan Addison: DUI trial set for July
Tuesday, June 17, 2025 10:42 AM
Addison's jury trial for a DUI citation will commence on July 15 after a June 16 hearing to set the Superior Court of California schedule, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports. Addison pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence after authorities found him asleep behind the wheel of a car on a Los Angeles freeway on July 12, 2024, according to CBS Minnesota.
Addison could face discipline from the NFL if he's found guilty, as the NFL's substance-abuse policy has a baseline punishment for a first-time DUI offense of a three-game suspension, Pro Football Talk reports. It's possible Addison's punishment from the NFL will be lengthier if he's found guilty should the league also take into account that he pleaded guilty to a 2023 misdemeanor speeding charge after being cited for driving 140 miles per hour in Minnesota. It sounds like a verdict in the DUI case could be announced at some point later this summer or early fall, which means Addison could potentially face discipline from the NFL during the 2025 season.

Gavin Bartholomew: Rehabbing injury in offseason
Tuesday, June 17, 2025 10:18 AM
Bartholomew was off to the side rehabbing an undisclosed injury during the recent offseason program, Will Ragatz of Sports Illustrated reports.
It's likely a minor injury, but it's something to watch at the start of training camp. Bartholomew is a 2025 sixth-round draft pick, so his roster spot isn't guaranteed and a slow start to training camp due to injury could hurt his chances.
