Charlie Smyth: Will join 53-man roster and start
Thursday, December 18, 2025 8:22 PM
Saints head coach Kellen Moore said Thursday that Smyth will be signed from the practice squad to the active roster in advance of Sunday's game against the Jets, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Smyth has exhausted his practice-squad elevations after appearing in each of New Orleans' last three games, in which span he converted four of five field-goal attempts and all five of his extra-point tries. He'll remain the Saints' starting kicker for the remainder of the regular season and work to continue displaying consistency.

Cade York: Cut from practice squad
Thursday, December 18, 2025 8:18 PM
The Saints cut York from the practice squad Thursday.
York's presence as a reserve kicker is no longer necessary for New Orleans, with Charlie Smyth on track to be elevated from the practice squad Week 16. Despite having inked with New Orleans' practice squad late November, York ultimately didn't get a chance to debut for the team. He'll search for an opportunity to compete elsewhere in the league.

Stetson Bennett: Still emergency QB
Thursday, December 18, 2025 7:26 PM
Bennett (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's game against Seattle, but he is available as the emergency third back, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.
Bennett has operated as the emergency quarterback for the entire season. Jimmy Garoppolo will serve as the backup to Matthew Stafford.

Jake Bobo: Scratched for Week 16
Thursday, December 18, 2025 7:20 PM
Bobo (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Rams.
Bobo has served as a depth option at wide receiver for most of the season, but he has also been a healthy scratch at times. With Dareke Young set to return from a quad injury, Bobo will sit for one of Seattle's biggest games of the season.

Jalen Milroe: Remains emergency QB
Thursday, December 18, 2025 7:16 PM
Milroe (coach's decision) is inactive but designated as the emergency third quarterback for Thursday's game against the Rams.
Milroe has been inactive for every game since Week 6 and will continue in his typical role Thursday. Drew Lock will serve as the backup to Sam Darnold.

Davante Adams: Inactive Thursday, as expected
Thursday, December 18, 2025 6:56 PM
Adams (knee/hamstring) is listed as inactive Thursday at Seattle.
Considering Adams didn't practice this week due to a lingering hamstring injury and a new knee issue and then was listed as doubtful for Week 16 action, this comes as no surprise. With Adams sidelined for the first time this season, Konata Mumpfield, Tutu Atwell, Jordan Whittington and Xavier Smith will be the wide receivers available to work alongside clear-cut top option Puka Nacua. Adams' next chance to suit up is Monday, Dec. 29 in Atlanta.

Mason Tipton: DNP with illness
Thursday, December 18, 2025 6:53 PM
Tipton (illness) did not participate in Thursday's practice.
Tipton was a new addition to Thursday's injury report. The wide receiver should be able to practice Friday, and even if he is unable to, he will likely be ready to suit up for Sunday as long as his immune system takes care of business in a timely fashion. If Tipton cannot play for any reason, Dante Pettis and Kevin Austin may see an expanded role in the Saints' offense.

Jakobi Meyers: Inks three-year extension with Jags
Thursday, December 18, 2025 6:53 PM
Meyers and the Jaguars agreed to terms on a three-year, $60 million extension Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
This new contract includes $40 million in guarantees. Since arriving in Jacksonville at the trade deadline in early November, Meyers has helped the Jaguars go 5-1 by hauling in 27 of 38 targets for 355 yards and three touchdowns during that span. He'll now be tied to the organization through the 2028 campaign.

Hunter Luepke: Upgrades to limited Thursday
Thursday, December 18, 2025 6:42 PM
Luepke (concussion) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Luepeke took the third step toward clearing the NFL's five-step concussion protocol Thursday by upgrading to a limited participant after missing Wednesday's session. The fullback will have to practice Friday and be cleared by an independent neurological specialist to be able to suit up for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Sione Vaki: Upgrades to full participation
Thursday, December 18, 2025 6:38 PM
Vaki (thumb) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Vaki upgraded to a full participant Thursday and was cleared of any injury designation after being limited with a thumb issue in Wednesday's session. The running back will likely continue in his role as a relief option behind starters Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery for Sunday's game against the Steelers.
