Jones completed 26 of 39 passes for 279 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 26-21 win over the Saints. He added six rushing yards on six carries.

The three passing TDs tied the former Patriot's career high, as Jones connected with Luke Farrell in the first quarter, Christian McCaffrey in the second and Jauan Jennings in the fourth. With Brock Purdy (toe/shoulder) expected to miss multiple games, Jones could get a chance to grow comfortable at the helm of the 49ers' offense, although he'll be without the services of George Kittle (hamstring) and Brandon Aiyuk (knee). Assuming Purdy doesn't make a rapid recovery, Jones will look to carry his momentum into a Week 3 matchup against the Cardinals.

Jones will start Sunday's game at New Orleans in place of Brock Purdy (toe), Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

There have long been rumors about Kyle Shanahan preferring Jones to Trey Lance -- but getting overruled by GM John Lynch -- ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft. The ship that Jones is captaining now isn't nearly as pretty as the one he would've been joining back then, as the 49ers currently have TE George Kittle (hamstring) and WR Brandon Aiyuk (knee) on injured reserve, with LT Trent Williams (knee) and WR Jauan Jennings (shoulder) listed as questionable. Jones gets a decent matchup, at least, playing indoors against a Saints team that's less talented than even this injury-riddled version of the 49ers. Reports suggest Jones is likely to start multiple games, although the Niners waited until Friday to rule Purdy out for Week 2.

San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan suggested Jones is likely to start Sunday's game at New Orleans in place of Brock Purdy (toe, shoulder), Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

To be exact, Shanahan said Purdy is a "long shot" for Week 2 and could even end up missing multiple games, even though the QB took every snap in a Week 1 win at Seattle. Jones has 49 NFL starts to his name, including seven last year in Jacksonville, but he's never come close to the solid numbers he posted his rookie year in New England. He did help Jaguars WR Brian Thomas put up huge stats last December, so there's at least potential for Jones to keep things rolling for Christian McCaffrey, Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings (shoulder) while Purdy and George Kittle (IR - hamstring) miss time.

Warren rushed the ball 14 times for 48 yards in Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Seahawks. He added four receptions on four targets for 86 yards.

Warren more explicitly accounted for the majority of touches out of Pittsburgh's backfield relative to Week 1, out-touching Kenneth Gainwell 18-8. Warren found very little running room, but he made an impact as a receiver for the second consecutive week. Warren recorded a 65-yard gain, most of which came after the catch, in the middle of the third quarter, during which he bounced off several would-be tacklers before being taken down at the five-yard line. While Warren hasn't had a strong start to the season on the ground, he has six receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown combined across the two contests.

Warren rushed the ball 11 times for 37 yards in Sunday's 34-32 win over the Jets. He added two receptions on two targets for 22 yards and a touchdown.

Warren led the Steelers' backfield as expected, though he only out-carried Kenneth Gainwell 11-7. He had a disastrous first half, recording just four carries for nine yards, but he managed to make an impact in the second half with a long reception of 17 yards late in the third quarter, and he later capped the same drive with a five-yard touchdown catch. Warren managed a decent fantasy performance all told, but he may be reliant on big plays and touchdowns rather than volume, even as the lead back in Pittsburgh.

Smith-Njigba caught eight of 10 targets for 103 yards in Sunday's 31-17 win over the Steelers.

Smith-Njigba exceeded 100 receiving yards while pacing the Seahawks in targets, catches and receiving yards for the second time in as many games, quickly establishing himself as the top target for new Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold. JSN's still searching for his first TD of 2025 after scoring six times in his breakout sophomore season last year, but his robust volume gives Smith-Njigba one of the highest fantasy floors among wide receivers heading into a Week 3 home game against the Saints.

Smith-Njigba finished with nine receptions on 13 targets for 124 yards with a lost fumble in Sunday's 17-13 loss to San Francisco.

Smith-Njigba had his coming out party as the unquestioned No. 1 option in Seattle following the departure of DK Metcalf to Pittsburgh this past offseason. The 23-year-old Smith-Njigba received 10 more looks than the next receiver (Cooper Kupp), immediately becoming new starting quarterback Sam Darnold's favorite target. JSN did suffer from a case of fumblitis when he put two balls on the ground (losing possession of one), something the wideout will surely work to clean up in practice. Smith-Njigba will look to build off a promising start to the campaign when the Seahawks take on the Steelers next Sunday.

Loop converted both of his field-goal attempts and all five of his extra-point tries in the Ravens' win over the Browns on Sunday.

Loop got the scoring started in this one, drilling a 43-yard field goal in the first quarter. He later made a 32-yard kick in the third quarter. On the season, the rookie Loop has made all four of his field-goal attempts and nine of 10 extra points. He's a valuable fantasy kicker in this high-powered Baltimore offense.

Golden didn't catch either of his two targets but rushed twice for 15 yards in Thursday's 27-18 win over the Commanders. He also had one punt return for minus-2 yards.

Golden (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Thursday's contest versus the Commanders, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.

The Packers listed Golden (ankle) as a full participant for Tuesday's walk-through practice.

TeSlaa caught his only target for 29 yards in Sunday's 52-21 win over the Bears.

Lions coach Dan Campbell said Monday that the team plans for TeSlaa, who played just three offensive snaps during Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Packers, to get more opportunities going forward, Tim Twentyman of the team's official site reports.

TeSlaa reeled in his only target for a 13-yard touchdown in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Packers.

Ferguson caught nine of 12 targets for 78 yards in Sunday's 40-37 overtime win over the Giants.

Ferguson brought in five of six targets for 23 yards in the Cowboys' 24-20 loss to the Eagles on Thursday night.
