The 24-year-old dialed up WR Nico Collins for a 27-yard score on Houston's opening drive, but that would end up being his only touchdown of the contest. Stroud failed to capitalize on a golden opportunity on the opponent's one-yard line early in the fourth quarter when he missed on two consecutive throws to turn the ball over on downs. With marginal yardage totals (197.5 passing yards per game) and just one touchdown to one interception through two starts, Stroud has played his way out of starting consideration in standard 1QB formats ahead of Sunday's tilt against Jacksonville.

Stroud struggled to finish drives Sunday, leading three lengthy possessions that ended in field-goal attempts. Stroud and his fantasy managers were hoping for a better start after the offense petered out down the stretch last season. Houston will have an extra day to figure things out offensively before hosting the Buccaneers on Monday Night Football in Week 2.

Cook rushed 21 times for 132 yards and two touchdowns while catching his only target for three yards in Sunday's 30-10 win over the Jets.

Cook once again operated as the clear lead back, as Ray Davis and Ty Johnson combined for just 30 scrimmage yards, with most of the backups' opportunities coming after the game was well in hand. Buffalo capitalized on a drive-extending roughing the passer penalty to open the scoring with a one-yard Cook rushing touchdown, and he added a 44-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to extend the lead to 20-0. Cook's versatile skill set allows him to stay heavily involved regardless of game script, and he has three total touchdowns heading into Thursday's Week 3 home game against the 0-2 Dolphins after racking up 18 scrimmage TDs in the 2024 regular season.

Cook (hamstring) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's contest at the Jets.

Cook was limited at Wednesday's practice due to a hamstring issue, but a full walkthrough Thursday and uncapped session Friday has cleared him to handle his typical role as the Bills' No. 1 running back. In a season-opening win against the Ravens, he earned 56 percent of the offensive snaps and turned 18 touches into 102 yards from scrimmage and one rushing TD, while reserve RBs Ray Davis and Ty Johnson combined for four touches for 25 total yards.

Cook (hamstring) was listed as a full participant in Thursday's walk-through.

Cook was limited by a hamstring injury Wednesday, but Thursday's full participation listing suggests he isn't in any danger of sitting out against the Jets in Week 2. Quarterback C.J. Stroud wasted no time finding his favorite target in the end zone Monday when he floated a rainbow in to Collins on the Texans' first possession of the game. The athletic receiver made a near-impossible grab where he managed to keep both of his feet in bounds for a millisecond before the momentum of the pass carried him out of the end zone. It wasn't all roses for Collins, as he finished the contest with an abysmal 33 percent catch rate on a team-high nine targets. The end result was still a significant improvement over the star wideout's Week 1 stinker. Collins' next opportunity to put up the consistent WR1 numbers managers have become accustomed to from him will be in a road matchup against the Jaguars on Sunday.

Houston's entire aerial attack sputtered out of the gates, failing to produce any touchdowns or a receiver with more than 32 yards. Collins' receiving line marks the wideout's worst fantasy output since Week 14 of the 2023 season. This was not the kind of start fantasy managers were hoping for from the unquestioned No. 1 receiving option for the Texans. Perhaps the eventual return of Christian Kirk (hamstring) will help open things up for C.J. Stroud and the rest of the passing game following an abysmal Week 1 performance. Collins is too talented to be held down on a regular basis, so make sure to stick with your studs heading into next Monday's tilt against the Buccaneers.

Etienne rushed 14 times for 71 yards and brought in two of three targets for 18 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' 31-27 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.

Etienne went a long way toward proving his breakout Week 1 performance was no fluke, as he averaged 5.1 yards per carry while comfortably pacing the Jaguars in rush attempts and rushing yards. The versatile veteran also made his mark as a receiver via an 11-yard touchdown catch with just over four minutes remaining in the third quarter, his first score of any kind in the new season. With ex-backfield mate Tank Bigsby now in Philadelphia, Etienne looks entrenched as the clear-cut No. 1 back in head coach Liam Coen's productive offense going into a Week 3 home divisional matchup against the Texans next Sunday.

Etienne carried the ball 16 times for 143 yards and caught all three of his targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 26-10 win over the Panthers.

The fourth-year RB headed into Week 1 with big questions about his spot on the Jaguars' depth chart, and how much of the workload he might have to share with Tank Bigsby and rookie Bhayshul Tuten. Etienne answered those questions in emphatic fashion, with his longest gain going for 71 yards in the second quarter to set up a Brian Thomas touchdown. Meanwhile, Bigsby and Tuten combined for just 23 rushing yards on eight carries, and neither one caught a pass. New coach Liam Coen turned Bucky Irving into a star last season in Tampa Bay, and at least through one week, he appears to be working that same magic with Etienne. He'll look to keep rolling in a Week 2 road battle against the Bengals.

Fairbairn went 2-for-2 on field-goal tries and made one PAT in Monday's 20-19 loss to the Buccaneers.

Fairbairn made a 35-yard field goal in the first quarter before later adding a 53-yard make in the fourth. The kicker has now opened the season having gone 5-for-5 on field-goal attempts, including three makes from 50-plus yards, over two games.

Fairbairn went 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts during the Texans' 14-9 loss to the Rams on Sunday.

The Texans' offense couldn't punch the ball into the end zone and finished with 265 total yards, but Fairbairn's boot kept Houston in the game. He opened things up with a 51-yard field goal in the first quarter for the game's first score, and after making a 45-yard try in the second quarter, he put the Texans up by two points with a 53-yard make as time expired in the first half. Fairbairn made a career-high 13 field goals from 50-plus yards in 2024, and that length will help the Texans stay competitive when the offense stalls outside the red zone.

Penix completed 13 of 21 passes for 135 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Sunday's 22-6 win over the Vikings.

Penix completed 27 of 42 passes for 298 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions and rushed six times for 21 yards and another score in the Falcons' 23-20 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also committed a fumble recovered by Atlanta.

Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson said Thursday that Penix, who did not suit up for any preseason action, is "ready to go" for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Buccaneers, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.

Davis rushed nine times for 24 yards in Sunday's 30-10 win over the Jets.

Davis rushed once for two yards and reeled in his lone target for minus-one yard in Sunday's 41-40 win over the Ravens.

Mooney (shoulder) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
