Carolina Panthers second-year quarterback Bryce Young had a historically bad day in the 26-3 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2, passing for only 84 yards to tie for the fourth-fewest in team history for a QB with at least 25 pass attempts. Young became the third player in the last 20 seasons to average four or fewer yards per dropback in four straight starts. He has three interceptions and no touchdowns in two starts in 2024. However, head coach Dave Canales said Young would be the team's starter in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raider at Allegiant Stadium. Carolina has been outscored 72-13 by the Chargers and Saints, and Young, the top pick in 2023, is now 2-16 as a starter. The 23-year-old Young has yet to really show any improvement in Year 2, completing only 55.4% of his 56 pass attempts with no TDs and three interceptions. San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason once again rewarded fantasy managers in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Vikings in Minnesota. The second-year undrafted pro from Georgia Tech racked up exactly 100 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries and caught his only target for four yards receiving. He fumbled once, in the second quarter, but quickly recovered it. Mason once again looked the part of a Shanahan zone running back, showing vision and burst with a one-cut downhill style throughout the game. With Elijah Mitchell (hamstring) out for the season and All-Pro starter Christian McCaffrey out until at least Week 6 and possibly even longer, those who have rostered Mason have to be excited about what he's doing with the keys to the backfield. Mason will run up against the Rams in Los Angeles in Week 3 next Sunday.

San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason will draw another start when the team clashes with the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday. Mason catapulted himself into the forefront of fantasy football conversations by shredding the New York Jets' run defense last week as the replacement for All-Pro starter Christian McCaffrey (Achilles). Mason is not CMC, but a Top-10 finish is in play this week even against a quality defense, given the 49ers' perennial commitment to the run game and how sharp it looked last week. Treat Mason as a back-end RB1 in Week 2.

Baltimore Ravens running back Justice Hill notched a quieter game in the Week 2 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. He only received four carries compared to Derrick Henry's 18 and hauled in two receptions on two targets. Hill remains the primary back in passing situations, and the Ravens weren't playing from behind in most of this game. That situation is not likely to change as the season rolls on, so his fantasy value will be dependent on the game script. This offense hasn't been able to find a consistent stride yet, so Hill hasn't been able to get any garbage time opportunities either. In Week 3, the Ravens will hit the road and play the Dallas Cowboys, another tougher defense that will test their offensive potential and could translate to more passing work for Hill.

He was clearly the first up in passing situations for the Ravens, but will be challenging to project for such a role weekly. With backfield mate Derrick Henry to take most of the early-down work -- and project for most of the goal-line carries, too -- the 26-year-old RB will be a volatile, game-script-dependent play. He'll be tough to trust in Baltimore's home opener this Sunday.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley caught four passes for 77 yards and a touchdown, adding a 10-yard rushing touchdown in a loss vs. the New York Jets. It was a monster afternoon for the sixth-year pro, who was able to get in the end zone twice while battling one of the toughest secondaries in the NFL. His 40-yard touchdown reception from Will Levis was a thing of beauty, as Ridley made an incredible grab with First-team All-Pro corner Sauce Gardner right on his back. The former Pro Bowler once again led the Titans in receiving as the clear cut top option in a not-so-great passing attack. Even with quarterback Will Levis' struggles, Ridley should be started in all formats on a weekly basis given his role in the offense. He will look to keep the momentum going against the Packers stiff defensive unit in Week 3.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley is up against the New York Jets in Week 2 of NFL action this Sunday. While not much went right for the Titans on offense in Week 1, Ridley led the team in targets and receiving yards, which should give fantasy managers some hope moving forward. Quarterback Will Levis will need to be better if Ridley is going to reach WR2 output, but the duo appeared to have some decent chemistry vs. Chicago. However, the Jets present a different kind of challenge. New York returns almost their entire secondary that allowed the fewest points to the WR position in 2023 and Ridley should see plenty of Sauce Gardner, who is one of the best cornerbacks in the game. The matchup definitely downgrades Ridley to a WR3 for this week, but he is still viable given his spot as the top man in the Titans passing attack.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley caught three of seven targets for 50 yards in a 24-17 loss at Chicago. On a day where the Titans struggled to move the ball through the air, Ridley was still able to have a decent afternoon with a 22% target share and over 50% of the Titans passing yards. It's promising for Ridley managers that he was the clear #1 target for this offense, but if quarterback Will Levis struggles to move the ball downfield like he did on Sunday, it will be hard to trust the former Jaguar. Ridley will look to build on this effort in Week 2 against a very stingy New York Jets secondary.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett was quiet in Week 2 against the New England Patriots. He finished with two receptions for 15 yards on only two targets. The distribution of targets in the Seahawks' receiving core has been inconsistent through two weeks. In Week 1 Lockett was the top receiver while DK Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba were the odd-men out. It may take another week or two to determine how the Seahawks will consistently distribute their targets. However, the dominance of Smith-Njigba and Metcalf in Week 2 may have earned them more targets moving forward.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett (thigh) was removed from Friday's final injury report and will play in Week 2 against the New England Patriots. Lockett put in two limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday before being cleared for this weekend's contest. Lockett has been dealing with his thigh injury since the middle of last month and was even questionable for the Week 1 win over the Denver Broncos. The 31-year-old veteran ended up suiting up for that one and finished with six receptions on seven targets for 77 receiving yards despite playing the third-most offensive snaps among the receivers on the team. With Lockett moving further from his thigh injury, he could see more time on the field this weekend against an underrated Patriots defense that shut down the Bengals in Week 1. Jaxon Smith-Njigba's presence will make Lockett a boom/bust WR4/flex play most weeks in fantasy.

Lockett's ceiling certainly is lowered with Smith-Njigba around, but he's not going away anytime soon, and he should play in Week 2 versus the New England Patriots. The healthier Lockett gets, too, the more snaps he'll likely see in Seattle's offense. Sure, Lockett was much more attractive in fantasy when it was just he and Metcalf soaking up targets, but he remains in play as a big-play, WR4/flex option in fantasy lineups.

New York Jets tight end Tyler Conklin has struggled to make an impact through the first two weeks of the season, having caught just two passes for 16 yards thus far. Conklin will look to reverse his fortunes in Week 3's Thursday night game against the New England Patriots. The Patriots have been stingy against fantasy tight ends through two weeks as they are allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position. The tough matchup paired with the lack of production makes Conklin a stay-away in fantasy in Week 3.

With a favorable 46.5 over/under for the game, Santos remains a strong fantasy play until Chicago's passing game shows more consistency.
