However, Allen's second interception, which came when Ja'Quan McMillian took the ball from Brandin Cooks as both went to the ground after the latter appeared to have hauled in a beautifully thrown deep post, begat Denver's game-winning drive, while his two earlier lost fumbles each led to Broncos field goals as well. Following another January heartbreak for his team, Allen will focus on regrouping for another run in 2026 after having completed 69.3 percent of his passes for 3,668 yards with a 25:10 TD:INT, rushing 112 times for 579 yards and 14 touchdowns and committing seven fumbles, losing three, across 17 regular-season games in 2025.

Following the Bills' wild-card win over the Jaguars, the QB has been managing a trio of injuries, but after being listed as a limited participant in Tuesday's walkthrough, Allen logged back-to-back full sessions, paving the way for him to start Saturday's contest. In the process, he'll be working with a banged-up wideout corps that will be minus Joshua Palmer (ankle), Tyrell Shavers (knee) and Gabe Davis (knee), who all are on IR. In that context, WRs Khalil Shakir and Brandin Cooks and TEs Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox figure to be Allen's top targets, with WRs Keon Coleman and Curtis Samuel (elbow, questionable) also candidates to contribute this weekend.

Jennings was predictably one of Brock Purdy's favorite targets, though his stat line reflects San Francisco's inability to move the ball effectively in the loss. He did account for the team's longest play from scrimmage on a 19-yard catch and run to begin the second half, but he also had a key drop late in the third quarter on third down. While Jennings' season didn't end positively, he tallied a career-high nine touchdowns across 15 regular-season games.

Jennings had one reception on three targets for 45 yards and completed his only pass attempt for a 29-yard touchdown in Sunday's 23-19 wild-card game win over the Eagles.

Jennings had an unusual stat line after finishing with his lowest target and reception total since Week 6 of the regular season, while also grabbing his longest reception of 2025 and throwing a touchdown pass to boot. It wasn't the first time that the veteran wideout was asked to throw a pass in his career, as the 49ers ran a similar trick play in 2023 that resulted in a 21-yard touchdown. The 27-year-old's target share was concerning in the wild-card round, but his usage figures to balloon in the divisional round after TE George Kittle (Achilles) had to be carted off the field Sunday. WR Ricky Pearsall missed the game due to a knee injury, and his status remains in question for next week's showdown against the Seahawks, so Jennings could really be in store for a heavy workload in the divisional round if his fellow starter remains sidelined.
