Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Thursday that he intends for all four of Green Bay's quarterbacks, including Love, to get "meaningful reps" during Saturday's preseason opener against the Jets, Zach Jacobson of 247Sports.com reports.

Love and the Packers' starters may not play more than a handful of series Saturday, especially if the plan is for all of Malik Willis, Sean Clifford and Taylor Elgersma to get significant playing time, but it will be interesting to see the 26-year-old in action with rookie first-round wideout Matthew Golden, who already seems to have played his way into a starting role alongside Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and TE Tucker Kraft. Love and offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich both are on board with the QB scrambling more often, although Love noted that his lack of rushing last year was partially a product of an MCL sprain and groin injury limiting his mobility for the first half of the season. He ultimately scrambled 12 times on 451 dropbacks (2.7 percent), down from 22 scrambles on 631 dropbacks (3.5 percent) the year before, dropping from 14.5 rushing yards per game and four TDs in 2023 to just 5.5 yards per game and one TD in 2024. Love otherwise remained efficient on a per-play basis, but his fantasy value took a nosedive with the Packers becoming more reliant on their running game -- both in general and near the goal line. A healthier season from Love combined with a solid showing from rookie wideout Matthew Golden could inspire Packers coach Matt LaFleur to open things back up and throw the ball around some like he did in 2023.

Hockenson (leg/hip/back) will practice Wednesday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.

Hockenson exited Saturday's practice with a noticeable limp, and then didn't practice Monday due to a combination of leg, hip and back injuries. He may operate only in a limited capacity Wednesday, but he'll have another session Thursday before the team will need to make a decision regarding whether he takes the field along with second-year QB J.J. McCarthy for Saturday's preseason game against the Texans.

Hockenson (leg/hip/back) won't take part in Monday's practice, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.

Hockenson sustained a lower-body injury at Saturday's session that left him with a noticeable limp. He's being listed with leg, hip and back issues as of Monday and will sit out drills. While second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy is expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Texans, it's unclear if Hockenson would be out there even if he was healthy enough to suit up.

Hockenson suffered an apparent groin injury during practice Saturday and was walking with a noticeable limp afterward, Andrew Krammer of the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

Hockenson was evaluated and tried to work through the injury on the field, but he was unable to do so. He told reporters after practice that he would be alright, but he may be in line to miss additional practice time.

Flacco isn't scheduled to play in Friday's preseason opener against the Panthers, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Flacco is the "strong favorite" to begin the regular season as Cleveland's starting quarterback, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
