Unfortunately, the injury is a massive blow to the Chiefs' backfield and for fantasy managers. Pacheco played 72.3% of the snaps over the first two weeks, accounting for 79.1% of the rushing attempts and 72.7% of the targets out of the backfield. Rookie Carson Steele and Samaje Perine are the other two running backs on the active roster, with Clyde Edwards-Helaire (mental health) on the Non-Football Injury list. Kansas City is bringing in Kareem Hunt for a visit on Tuesday. Steele is the most appealing waiver-wire target currently on the roster after an impressive preseason performance, while Perine should gain more attention in PPR formats.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (leg) left the stadium on Sunday in a walking boot and crutches after a last-second win over the Cincinnati Bengals. According to a report from Ian Rapoport, the star back had some initial test results that revealed a fractured fibula. There's still more information on the way to determine the severity and how long Pacheco will be out, but he's set to miss "real time" as Rapoport says. Carson Steele seems to be the next man up for now as he received seven carries on Sunday, while Samaje Perine will likely see a lot more opportunities in the meantime as well. Pacheco's status will be something to continue to monitor to determine backup fantasy plans, Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) may get some more opportunities than expected if he can return in time. In a new report from Adam Schefter, Pacheco is expected to land on the IR which means he'll be out for at least four games, and could even miss more than that depending on further testing.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (leg) had 90 rushing yards on 19 carries in the 26-25 win against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2. Pacheco was also involved in the passing game, catching five passes for 21 yards. The Chiefs starting running back showed that he was an integral piece of the offense, earning 24 total touches against a formidable AFC rival. Pacheco did not find the end zone in this contest but still managed to make an impact for fantasy as a rusher and a receiver. The 25-year-old will look to score in next week's contest against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons were one of the tougher matchups for running backs last season and gave up the fifth-fewest rushing touchdowns and were middle-of-the-pack in rushing yards allowed. Pacheco was seen leaving the stadium in a walking boot and on crutches, so this is a situation to monitor. If Pacheco is healthy enough to suit up, he should be a strong start despite the difficult matchup.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb scored his first touchdown of the season with an electrifying 65-yard reception in Sunday's 44-19 loss to the New Orleans Saints. After signing a lucrative contract extension, the All-Pro was out to prove his worth, finishing the game with four receptions for 90 yards and a score. Lamb remained the focal point of the Cowboys' offense, seeing seven targets, the second-most on the team behind Jalen Tolbert's nine. He'll have a tough matchup against the Ravens in Week 3, but remains a must-start in all leagues.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb turned in a solid day at the office in Week 1 at Cleveland but more should be expected of the talented wideout in Week 2 at home against New Orleans. Lamb was targeted 10 times and hauled in five of those passes for 61 yards in the team's 33-17 win over the Browns while adding three rushes for 25 yards. It was a decent day for Lamb who has created a high bar after setting the fantasy world aflame last season. For those just looking at the stat line, the Cowboys didn't take to the air much in the second half of Week 1. Expect more from Lamb in a home game against the Saints. The fact that he was involved with some rushes is also a good sign as he has the skill set to take an end-around to the house. Lamb should move around the formation and be involved early and often in Week 2 in what figures to be a more competitive game. Not that fantasy managers need reassurance to start a player likely drafted with a top 3 pick but Lamb should be fired up with a great deal of confidence.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb led the team in targets, catches, and yards in a Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns. Lamb missed the entire preseason while holding out for a contract extension, and at points it was unclear if he'd even play in Week 1. He did, of course, and saw 10 targets, making five catches for 61 yards. Lamb was the top overall fantasy pass catcher last season and has a good chance to do it again this season. He'll only heat up more and once he gets more up to speed he should distance himself from the rest of the Cowboys pass catchers. He'll be a weekly WR1 regardless of matchups.

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel offered an encouraging update on quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's (concussion) status on Monday. "He's downstairs today, smiling with his teammates," said McDaniel. "As far as I'm concerned, you're in the protocol and he's doing well today and we take it day by day." His coach also noted that he's been working diligently with the training staff. Tagovailoa has been the center of much controversy after suffering his third (official) concussion since the beginning of 2022, with many speculating he may hang it up due to the most recent injury. It's excellent news for the fifth-year QB, though -- who is on record saying he has no plans to retire from football. We'll unlikely see the Alabama product suit up in Week 3 when Miami squares up for a road tilt against the hosting Seattle Seahawks. However, this news at least opens the door for his potential return in Week 4 against the Titans.UPDATE: According to McDaniel, there isn't enough information yet to determine if Tagovailoa is going on Injured Reserve, which would force him to miss at least four games. The decision has not been discussed with Tua.

The young signal-caller suffered what appears to be his fourth concussion over the last five years. As a result, Tagovailoa will meet with neurologists this week to discuss his current condition and his future in the league. However, Tagovailoa has already said he has no plans to retire. He's already seeing concussion specialists and will continue to do so going forward. There still remains no timetable for Tagovailoa's return, but there should be more updates in the coming weeks. Until then, Skylar Thompson figures to start under center for Week 3 and possibly longer.

Through two games, Spears hasn't been much more than a low-upside RB3/flex option for fantasy managers in what has been a less-than-impressive Titans offense. Julius Chestnut would become Tennessee's RB2 behind Pollard if Spears is forced to miss Week 3.

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears (ankle) exited during the third quarter of Sunday's game against the New York Jets. He was observed walking to the locker room with one shoe removed. At the time of his departure, he had 20 rushing yards, 11 receiving yards, and 22 kick return yards. Tennessee has Tony Pollard atop its depth chart, so he'll continue to handle the bulk of the rushing workload regardless of whether Spears can return. Julius Chestnut would be next on the depth chart.

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears takes on the New York Jets in Week 2 action on Sunday. Spears played second-fiddle to Tony Pollard in Week 1, logging eight touches (32 yards) to Pollard's 19 (94 yards). This was quite surprising given Titans OC Nick Holz's recent comments that the backfield would be split 50/50. However, Spears should see an uptick in playing time moving forward based on head coach Brian Callahan saying that he wants the backfield to be "more even" between the two. The Jets were just absolutely torched by the 49ers backup running back Jordan Mason for 147 yards and a score in Week 1, so there should be some open running lanes for Spears to take advantage of. Especially with how strong the Jets secondary is, if Spears does see more playing time he should be able to produce enough for a viable flex option in 12+ team leagues.

New Orleans Saints third-year receiver Rashid Shaheed has been all "boom" so far this season, as he has now scored long touchdowns in back-to-back weeks. The explosive playmaker caught all four of his targets for 96 yards and a touchdown in the Week 2 win over the Dallas Cowboys. He also rushed the ball three times for 13 yards. Shaheed's 25% target share was promising, especially after tying for the team lead in targets a week ago. If the speedster continues to see a consistent target share, he will become a more reliable week-to-week starter in fantasy. Shaheed will look to continue his hot streak next week against Philadelphia.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed connected with quarterback Derek Carr on a 59-yard touchdown bomb early in the first quarter, marking the first touchdown of the Sunday slate. Shaheed and the Saints would go on to win 47-10 over divisional rival Carolina. The speedster was targeted five times, accounting for 20% of the team's targets. He caught three passes for 73 yards and a score, proving he will again be a boom-or-bust option. Shaheed will be a tougher start in Week 2 against a Dallas defense that stifled Cleveland in Week 1.

Higgins injured his hamstring in practice just days before the season opener and has missed the first two games of the season as a result. The 25-year-old's status for next Monday's game will depend on how much he can do in practice this week. If Higgins draws a questionable tag on the final injury report on Saturday, fantasy managers probably won't want to take any chances with him in their starting lineups. Andrei Iosivas scored two touchdowns in the Week 2 loss to the Chiefs on his two receptions, while tight end Mike Gesicki saw more involvement with Higgins out. The 0-2 Bengals could certainly use their WR2 in Higgins back sooner than later.
