This appeared to be a three-horse race between Lamar Jackson, Ja'Marr Chase, and Barkley. It's not too shocking to see Barkley winning the award after a historic season. Barkley rushed for 2,005 yards on 345 attempts with 13 touchdowns across 16 regular season games. Now, Barkley has a chance to finish his incredible season at the top with a Super Bowl victory. The expectation is that Barkley will be one of the first players off the boards in fantasy drafts next season. Saquon Barkley Posts Three-Touchdown Performance Monday, January 27, 2025 9:48 AM Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley dazzled in the NFC Championship, torching the Washington Commanders with 15 carries for 118 yards and three touchdowns. Barkley has now averaged an astonishing 147.3 rushing yards per game in the postseason, solidifying his role as the cornerstone of the Eagles offense. Even with Philadelphia opening up the passing game more than in recent weeks, Barkley's production remained elite. His ability to gash defenses for big plays and find the end zone has been pivotal to the Eagles' playoff success, giving him five touchdowns this postseason. As the Eagles prepare for the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs, Barkley's dominant ground game will be vital in their quest for a ring. Saquon Barkley Fit For Another Huge Game Friday, January 24, 2025 10:16 PM Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley enters Sunday's NFC Championship matchup against the Washington Commanders with a history of dominance. In 11 career games against Washington, Barkley has averaged 137.5 scrimmage yards per game, the most by any player against any opponent in the Super Bowl Era (min. 10 games). This season, he torched the Commanders in two matchups, totaling 296 rushing yards, 63 receiving yards, and four touchdowns. The Commanders' defense has struggled mightily against the run, ranking 30th in rushing yards allowed per game (137.5) during the regular season. They've also given up 5.4 yards per carry and three rushing touchdowns in the playoffs. "Hopefully, I don't put too much pressure on anybody, but I just want it to be fair, that's all." As for what's "fair" from the 24-year-old's point of view: "I can't really say everything I want to say. It's what I deserve." Chase is coming off his best season as a pro, and it couldn't come at a better time for his looming contract. The superstar wideout became just the sixth pass-catcher in the Super Bowl era to lead the league in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns -- effectively taking home the Triple Crown. It appears he's insinuating he wants to match or exceed his former LSU teammate Justin Jefferson's contract value, which would make him the highest-paid non-QB in the league. Hopefully, the negotiations don't linger into the summer, as it's the only outcome that could prevent Chase from being a highly-selected fantasy asset in 2025. Ja'Marr Chase Extension A Priority For Bengals This Offseason Wednesday, January 29, 2025 7:58 PM Cincinnati Bengals All-Pro wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase is entering the final year of his rookie deal with the team in 2025 after not being able to agree on a new contract last offseason. This offseason, director of personnel Duke Tobin said a long-term extension for Chase will be "a priority for us." The Bengals should expect Chase's representation to ask for significantly more than what Cincy's final offer was last year after he led the NFL in receiving yards (1,708), receptions (127) and touchdowns (17) to capture the receiving Triple Crown. The 24-year-old will be a finalist for Offensive Player of the Year. When everything is said and done, Chase will be the league's highest-paid non-quarterback in league history. The Vikings' Justin Jefferson reset the WR market with a four-year deal worth $140 million, which Chase will exceed. After not practicing at all last week, Smith wasn't listed on last Friday's final injury report. It means that he will most likely practice in full on Friday and be cleared to play in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday versus the Kansas City Chiefs. The 26-year-old pass-catcher has been extremely efficient in three postseason games this year, catching all 12 of his targets for 121 yards, although he didn't find the end zone in wins over the Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams and Washington Commanders. Smith did have four touchdowns in his final four regular-season games, though, so it wouldn't surprise anyone if he had a big game in the Super Bowl this weekend. DeVonta Smith Limited On Wednesday Wednesday, February 5, 2025 7:19 PM Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday. Smith picked up a hamstring injury in the NFC Championship win over the division-rival Washington Commanders and was held out of practice all of last week. However, he has now returned to the practice field and should be able to upgrade to a full session by either Thursday or Friday. Smith shouldn't be in any danger of missing Super Bowl LIX this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, where he'll be looking for his first touchdown of the postseason after catching four touchdown passes in his last four games of the regular season. The 26-year-old was cleared from the final injury report last Friday despite not practicing all week and will be a vital part of Philly's passing game as the Eagles look to prevent KC from becoming the first team to win three straight Super Bowl rings. DeVonta Smith Expected To Play In Super Bowl Friday, January 31, 2025 10:13 PM Despite not practicing at all this week, the Philadelphia Eagles removed wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) from Friday's final injury report. It means that despite Smith picking up a hamstring injury in the NFC Championship win over the division-rival Washington Commanders, he's fully expected to suit up for Super Bowl LIX next Sunday, Feb. 9, versus the Kansas City Chiefs. Smith will likely be back on next week's injury report and might even miss a practice or two, but he should be fine to play next weekend and will be needed if the Eagles are to upset KC in the big game. The 26-year-old not practicing at all this week was likely more of the Eagles just wanting to rest their No. 2 wideout with an extra week off before the Super Bowl.
