Baylor Cupp: Let go by Kansas City
Wednesday, April 30, 2025 8:27 PM

The Chiefs waived Cupp on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

The Chiefs inked a pair of undrafted rookie tight ends in Jake Briningstool and Tre Watson and cut both Cupp and veteran Anthony Firkser in the aftermath. Cupp appeared in one regular-season game for the Chiefs last season, failing to secure his only target in the pass game.

Anthony Firkser: Cut by Kansas City
Wednesday, April 30, 2025 8:25 PM

The Chiefs released Firkser on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Firkser inked a reserve/future deal with the Chiefs after their Super Bowl loss, but he's out of a roster spot following the NFL Draft and Kansas City's signings of undrafted rookies Jake Briningstool and Tre Watson. Firkser, 30, hasn't registered a regular-season catch since securing nine passes for the Falcons in 2022.

Elijah Moore: Bolsters Bills WR corps
Wednesday, April 30, 2025 5:47 PM

Moore is slated to sign with the Bills, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Per Schefter, Moore's one-year deal is worth up to $5 million. The 2021 second-rounder put up a 61/538/1 receiving line in 17 games with the Browns last season, and with Buffalo the 5-foot-10, 180-pounder will give QB Josh Allen another viable option in a wideout corps that also includes Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Joshua Palmer and Curtis Samuel. Moore's fantasy upside in 2025 hinges on securing steady snaps, but PPR relevance in deeper formats could be in reach if he's able to build a strong rapport with Allen.

Rhamondre Stevenson: Added competition for carries
Wednesday, April 30, 2025 5:33 PM

Stevenson will have added competition for backfield touches following the Patriots' selection of TreVeyon Henderson in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Chad Graff and Lauren Smith of The Athletic report.

Per Graff, in the wake of the draft, Stevenson, Henderson and Antonio Gibson are poised to lead the team's RB corps this coming season, with Terrell Jennings and reported UDFA signing Lan Larison in the depth mix. Stevenson is coming off a 2024 season in which he recorded 207 carries for 801 yards and seven TDs to go along with 33 catches (on 41 targets) for 168 yards and another score in 15 games. Ball security was an issue for Stevenson in that span, however, with the 2021 fourth-rounder racking up seven fumbles after recording just one (in 12 contests) in 2023. That's an issue Stevenson will no doubt focus on improving, but in any case, the addition of the dynamic Henderson seems destined to cut into his workload this season. A committee approach featuring the bruising Stevenson and the speedy Henderson, with Gibson also sprinkled in, appears the most likely outcome, a looming scenario that is on track to impact Stevenson's volume in 2025.

Malik Davis: Departs Dallas
Wednesday, April 30, 2025 5:02 PM

The Cowboys waived Davis on Wednesday.

The Florida product signed a reserve/future contract with the Cowboys in early January after spending the entire 2024 season on the team's practice squad. However, it now appears Dallas has decided to move in another direction. Davis last appeared in an NFL regular-season game in 2023, playing 45 special-teams snaps across three contests.

Garrett Wilson: Fifth-year option made official
Wednesday, April 30, 2025 3:23 PM

The Jets exercised the fifth-year option on Wilson's rookie contract Wednesday.

General manager Darren Mougey said prior to the 2025 NFL Draft that New York would pick up the fifth-year options of London, Sauce Gardner and Jermaine Johnson (Achilles), and the team has now made each of those transactions official. Wilson is coming off three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and remains the clear top receiving option on the Jets' depth chart, with Allen Lazard, Josh Reynolds and Tyler Johnson behind him in the wide receiver room, and with rookie second-round pick Mason Taylor a new addition to the tight end corps. Even if Justin Fields' dual-threat capabilities result in an overall decline in passing for the Jets' offense, Wilson figures to retain a tremendous target share following the offseason departures of WR Davante Adams and TE Tyler Conklin, and considering his current lack of competition for volume. Picking up the No. 1 wideout's fifth-year option shouldn't make the Jets any less motivated to negotiate a long-term extension with Wilson, who will turn 25 in July.

Jordan Travis: Announces medical retirement
Wednesday, April 30, 2025 2:18 PM

Travis (lower leg) informed the Jets on Wednesday of his intention to medically retire from the NFL.

Travis, a 2024 fifth-round pick, missed his entire rookie year while rehabbing from a serious left leg injury sustained during his final season at Florida State, and which has now resulted in him being advised to step away from the game of football. In his statement, Travis writes: "I gave everything I had to the rehab process but despite all my efforts, my leg never responded the way we hoped. After much prayer and consultation with the doctors, medical experts and my agent, I've been medically advised to retire from the game I love so deeply."

Drake London: Getting fifth-year option
Wednesday, April 30, 2025 10:46 AM

The Falcons are exercising their fifth-year option on London's rookie contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The eighth overall pick from the 2022 Draft is now under contract through 2026, although it may not be long before he signs an extension that locks him in beyond that. London had career highs in every major counting stat last year, including 41 more targets (158) and 366 more yards (1,271) than his previous personal bests. He had just three 100-yard performances, but two of those came in the final two games after Michael Penix took over as Atlanta's starting QB. There should be plenty of volume for London again in 2025, after the Falcons focused on their defense this offseason and failed to acquire any significant competition for targets or carries.

Dorian Singer: Signs with Jaguars
Tuesday, April 29, 2025 9:01 PM

Singer signed with Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent Tuesday.

Singer hauled in 53 passes for 702 yards and a touchdown during his lone season at Utah and will now join the Jaguars. He can add value as return specialist as well and is likely a candidate to land on the team's practice squad.

Darius Lassiter: Signs with Jacksonville
Tuesday, April 29, 2025 8:54 PM

Lassiter signed with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent Tuesday.

Lassiter is headed to Jacksonville after having caught 45 passes for 703 yards and four touchdowns during his final season at BYU. He will compete for a spot as a depth receiver and could be a candidate to land on the practice squad.
