Kevin Austin: Signed to active roster
Thursday, December 18, 2025 5:19 PM
The Saints signed Austin from the practice squad to the active roster Thursday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Austin has bounced between the Saints' active roster and practice squad all season, playing in five games for the franchise. The wide receiver has accumulated three receptions for 33 yards on six targets so far in the 2025 campaign. With Devaughn Vele (shoulder) ruled out and Dante Pettis (illness) listed as questionable, Austin is set to take on a role as the No. 3 wide receiver behind Chris Olave and Mason Tipton for Sunday's game against the Jets.

Quentin Johnston: Stays limited Thursday
Thursday, December 18, 2025 5:18 PM
Johnston (groin) was limited at practice Thursday.
Following back-to-back limited sessions, Johnston will likely need to practice fully Friday in order to avoid an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. After being added to the Chargers' Week 15 injury report last Friday, a groin injury kept the wideout from facing the Chiefs in last weekend's 16-13 win. In his absence from that contest, Tre' Harris logged a season-high 85 percent snap share alongside fellow WRs Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen.

Tre' Harris: Limited in practice again
Thursday, December 18, 2025 5:16 PM
Harris (hip) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Harris filled in for Quentin Johnston (groin) during Los Angeles' win over the Chiefs in Week 15, playing a career-high 85 percent of offensive snaps and securing three of five targets for 49 yards. He and Johnston have both logged back-to-back limited practices since that contest. If Johnston is able to get back on the field for Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys, Harris will stand to revert to the No. 4 wide receiver role even if fully healthy. Derius Davis (ankle) remains a non-participant at practice, however, so Harris could see expanded opportunities even if he reverts back to a depth role.

Cam Akers: Elevated for TNF
Thursday, December 18, 2025 5:07 PM
The Seahawks have elevated Akers for Thursday's game against the Rams, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Akers, who is on his second stint with Seattle's practice squad this season, will be elevated for his first contest with the team. The veteran running back will handle the No. 3 backfilled role behind Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet, and he could continue to do so until such time as George Holani (hamstring) is ready to come off IR.

Dareke Young: Activated for Thursday's game
Thursday, December 18, 2025 4:57 PM
Young has been activated from injured reserve and does not carry an injury designation for Thursday's home game against the Rams, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Young has been a full participant at practice throughout Seattle's preparations for Thursday Night Football, so it's unsurprising to see him activated in time to face off against Los Angeles. After having missed the Seahawks' last seven games due to a quad injury, Young will now resume handling a depth role in the team's wide receiver corps.

Gavin Bartholomew: Trending towards activation
Thursday, December 18, 2025 4:56 PM
Bartholomew (back) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Bartholomew has yet to make his NFL debut. The sixth-round pick out of Pittsburgh has remained on the PUP list all year due to a back injury he suffered in late August. With a limited practice Wednesday that upgraded to a full session Thursday, it seems the rookie tight end could be a depth addition to the Vikings' offense as early as Sunday's game against the Giants.
|
Lamar Jackson: Full reps in return to practice
Thursday, December 18, 2025 4:53 PM
Jackson (illness) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
The Ravens held Jackson out of their first practice of the week Wednesday while he contended with a flu-like illness, but the quarterback took every rep a day later to clear up any concern about his health heading into Sunday's game against the Patriots. Though Jackson has now gone six consecutive weeks without a full slate of practices, he said Thursday that he feels that he's bounced back well from the illness and characterized his absence Wednesday as being "just another rest day," per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.

Drew Sample: Cleared for Sunday
Thursday, December 18, 2025 4:51 PM
Sample (neck) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Sample upgraded to full participation after being limited in Wednesday's session, and the tight end is free of injury designation for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. The No. 3 tight end has been quite productive for his depth position in the Bengals' offense this season, logging nine receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown on 14 targets. Sample's health stabilizes a tight end room that might be without Noah Fant (ankle) for Sunday's contest.

Justin Fields: Listed as limited again Thursday
Thursday, December 18, 2025 4:50 PM
Fields (knee) was listed as limited at Thursday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Fields and Tyrod Taylor (groin/knee) retained limited status Thursday as the Jets resumed practicing after holding a walkthrough Wednesday, for which both quarterbacks were also listed as limited. Brady Cook will start Sunday at New Orleans, which whichever one of Fields or Taylor is deemed healthier after Friday's practice set to work as the backup.

Devin Neal: Season over with move to IR
Thursday, December 18, 2025 4:48 PM
The Saints placed Neal (hamstring) on injured reserve Thursday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Neal's rookie season thus is over with the Saints not eligible for a postseason berth after he sustained a hamstring injury this past Sunday against the Panthers. In 10 appearances (three starts) on the campaign, he totaled 57 carries for 206 yards and two touchdowns, hauled in 17 of 19 passes for 104 yards and didn't fumble. With Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle) currently unable to practice and in danger of missing more time, New Orleans appears poised to roll with Audric Estime and Evan Hull at running back for the time being.
