Hunter Long: Hauls in first touchdown
Tuesday, September 9, 2025 1:40 AM

Long caught his lone target for a six-yard touchdown during Sunday's 26-10 win against the Panthers.

The 27-year-old played just seven offensive snaps but cashed in for his first NFL touchdown during the second quarter. Johnny Mundt played 50 percent of the offensive snaps as Jacksonville's No. 2 tight end, so Long appears entrenched as the team's third tight end.

Tez Johnson: Logs eight snaps in opener
Tuesday, September 9, 2025 1:38 AM

Johnson failed to bring in his only target during the Buccaneers' 23-20 win over the Falcons on Sunday.

Johnson logged a scant eight snaps from scrimmage despite being listed as the No. 3 receiver on the depth chart to open the season. Sterling Shepard logged 37 snaps and finished tied for second in targets, so Johnson appears to be behind his veteran teammate in the pecking order going into a Week 2 Monday night road matchup against the Texans.

Tim Patrick: Fills depth role in Jags debut
Tuesday, September 9, 2025 1:35 AM

Patrick didn't receive a target during Sunday's 26-10 win against the Panthers.

The 31-year-old was acquired by the Jaguars in late August and played seven offensive snaps in his team debut, which ranked fifth among Jacksonville's wideouts. Patrick delivered back-to-back seasons of 700-plus receiving yards with Denver in 2020 and 2021, but after a couple lost seasons due to injuries, he had a lesser role in Detroit last year and appears poised to work as more of a reserve wideout for Jacksonville in 2025.

Sterling Shepard: Three grabs to open season
Tuesday, September 9, 2025 1:34 AM

Shepard brought in three of six targets for 39 yards in the Buccaneers' 23-20 win over the Falcons on Sunday.

The veteran receiver flashed his chemistry with college teammate Baker Mayfield on a few occasions, and Shepard actually finished second on the Bucs in targets for the afternoon. Shepard's final catch was the most important, as he made clutch 10-yard grab on third-and-9 during what would turn out to be the game-winning drive. Given the short-handed nature of Tampa Bay's receiving corps for the moment, Shepard has some appeal in deep formats as the current No. 3 receiver -- he logged 37 snaps to Tez Johnson's eight Sunday -- in an offense helmed by a quarterback with whom he has long-established rapport.

Parker Washington: No targets Week 1
Tuesday, September 9, 2025 1:31 AM

Washington didn't receive a target and returned one punt for seven yards during Sunday's 26-10 win against the Panthers.

The 2023 sixth-round pick played 17 of 66 offensive snaps but wasn't involved in the passing game in the season opener. Washington took a step forward in 2024 with 32 catches for 390 yards and three touchdowns, but he isn't likely to deliver much production this year while working as Jacksonville's No. 4 wideout behind Brian Thomas, Travis Hunter and Dyami Brown.

Sean Tucker: Minima role on offense in win
Tuesday, September 9, 2025 1:30 AM

Tucker rushed once for two yards and returned three kickoffs for 81 yards in the Buccaneers' 23-20 win over the Falcons on Sunday.

Tucker logged a scant two snaps on offense, 12 fewer than No. 2 back Rachaad White. The speedy third-year back came into the season with expectations of an expanded role following a solid training camp and preseason, but there was no sign of such a boost in the opener. Tucker did put in some solid work on kickoff returns, which appears likely to be his surest path to touches for the time being.

Dyami Brown: Solid showing in Jags debut
Tuesday, September 9, 2025 1:27 AM

Brown caught three of four targets for 52 yards and rushed twice for six yards during Sunday's 26-10 win over the Panthers.

The 25-year-old worked as Jacksonville No. 3 wideout behind Travis Hunter and Brian Thomas and tied for third on the team in targets and receptions while finishing second in receiving yards. Brown joined the Jaguars on a one-year, $10 million deal in March after breaking out in the 2024 playoffs for the Commanders, and he should have a decent chance at a career year in 2025 after posting career highs with 30 receptions for 308 yards last season. That doesn't necessarily mean he'll have much fantasy relevance while operating as Jacksonville's No. 3 wide receiver, however.

Rachaad White: Finishes with 16 total yards in win
Tuesday, September 9, 2025 1:26 AM

White rushed twice for 14 yards and brought in his only target for two yards in the Buccaneers' 23-20 win over the Falcons on Sunday.

White unsurprisingly played a clear second fiddle to Bucky Irving, logging 12 fewer carries than his teammate. White also was three targets behind Irving and was outsnapped by the latter by a 44-14 margin. While the division of labor between the two wasn't typically as unbalanced down the stretch last season in Irving's ascension within the offense, White's fantasy outlook is bleak for the time being heading into a tough Week 2 road matchup against the Texans next Monday night.

LeQuint Allen: Minor role in debut
Tuesday, September 9, 2025 1:18 AM

Allen carried once for seven yards and caught his lone target for four yards during Sunday's 26-10 win against the Panthers.

The rookie seventh-round pick received both his touches during the first half and played just nine offensive snaps in his professional debut. Allen played a few more snaps than fellow rookie Bhayshul Tuten, but the specifics are a bit of a moot point after the Jaguars traded No. 2 tailback Tank Bigsby to the Eagles on Monday. Travis Etienne is entrenched as the starter, but it appears Allen and Tuten will now compete for the backup job as the only other running backs currently on the roster.

Bhayshul Tuten: Carries thrice in NFL debut
Tuesday, September 9, 2025 1:00 AM

Tuten had three carries for 11 yards and returned one kickoff for 12 yards during Sunday's 26-10 win over the Panthers.

The rookie fourth-round pick finished fourth among Jacksonville's tailbacks with just four offensive snaps, though he still garnered three carries in the blowout. Both Tuten and rookie seventh rounder LeQuint Allen had minimal roles in the season opener, but the No. 2 job is wide open after the Jaguars traded Tank Bigsby to the Eagles on Monday. Travis Etienne is locked in as the starter after posting 156 yards from scrimmage Week 1, but Tuten and Allen are now positioned to compete for the backup job.
