Elic Ayomanor: Fades behind Ridley
Tuesday, October 7, 2025 8:26 PM

Ayomanor recorded two receptions on four targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 22-21 win over Arizona.

Ayomanor seemed to have the momentum among Tennessee pass catchers entering Week 5, as he had at least five targets and had topped 35 targets in three consecutive games. He instead had a disappointing showing and was overshadowed by veteran Calvin Ridley, who had a trio of long receptions in the comeback win. The Titans' offense has hardly been capable of sustaining one viable fantasy wide receiver this season, so Ayomanor's production is likely to remain inconsistent in the short term.

Julius Chestnut: Role slips further
Tuesday, October 7, 2025 8:12 PM

Chestnut recorded one carry for three yards in Sunday's 22-21 win over Arizona. He did not catch his only target.

Chestnut was on the field for only three offensive snaps while slipping to third on the Tennessee depth chart due to the return of Tyjae Spears. Chestnut has not attempted more than two carries in a game this season.

Bailey Zappe: Could be added to roster
Tuesday, October 7, 2025 7:12 PM

The Browns could promote Zappe to the active roster ahead of Week 6's game in Pittsburgh, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.

Cleveland released its unofficial depth chart, which lists Dillon Gabriel as the starting quarterback with Shedeur Sanders as the backup. However, that may not be the pecking order come kickoff against the Steelers. The Browns signed Zappe after cut-down day and at a time when they already had six QBs on the roster. Perhaps the veteran, who has made nine career starts including Week 16 in 2024 for Cleveland, is viewed as a more game-ready than Sanders, who could drop back to being the emergency quarterback.

Grant Calcaterra: Estimated DNP for Tuesday
Tuesday, October 7, 2025 6:48 PM

The Eagles listed Calcaterra (oblique) as a DNP on Tuesday's estimated injury report.

Calcaterra is recovering from an oblique injury that he suffered during Sunday's loss against the Broncos. However, with the Eagles operating on a short week, the fourth-year tight end is in jeopardy of being sidelined for Thursday's NFC East clash against the Giants. Kylen Granson would be in line to see a spike in snaps on offense as the TE2 behind Dallas Goedert if Calcaterra is not cleared to play.

Saquon Barkley: Gets in limited practice Tuesday
Tuesday, October 7, 2025 6:38 PM

Barkley (knee) was limited in Tuesday's walkthrough practice.

It's an upgrade for Barkley after he was estimated as a DNP on Monday's practice report. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Barkley was dealing with general soreness coming out of Sunday's loss to the Broncos and is fully expected to play against the Giants on Thursday night.

Noah Fant: Shut out versus Lions
Tuesday, October 7, 2025 6:17 PM

Fant didn't have a catch or a target in Sunday's loss to the Lions.

Fant was coming back from a concussion after missing Week 4's loss to the Broncos. He played only 15 offensive snaps, but that's not out of line with the previous two games he played in, when he logged 17 and 18 snaps, respectively, against Jacksonville and Minnesota.

Owen Wright: Signed to TB practice squad
Tuesday, October 7, 2025 6:04 PM

The Buccaneers signed Wright to the practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Wright was unable to make the Buccaneers' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he has been invited back by Tampa Bay to be part of the practice squad. He could be elevated to the active roster for the Buccaneers' Week 6 clash against the 49ers on Sunday to give the team additional depth at running back if Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder) is not cleared to play.

Mike Gesicki: Another quiet game
Tuesday, October 7, 2025 6:01 PM

Gesicki had two catches for 15 yards on five targets in Sunday's loss to the Lions. For the season, Gesicki has eight catches for a meager 61 yards and zero touchdowns.

After turning in a big season in 2024 (65 catches, 665 yards, albeit with just two touchdowns), Gesicki hasn't gotten on track in five games this season. The addition of Noah Fant has cut into Gesicki's workload, plus the Bengals can't get untracked offensively.

Samaje Perine: Workload increasing
Tuesday, October 7, 2025 5:53 PM

Perine had four carries for 27 yards and two catches for two yards in Sunday's loss to the Lions.

More importantly, Perine played 27 offensive snaps, good for 47 percent of the Bengals' offensive snaps. As Chase Brown continues to struggle, especially in the running game, Perine might continue to cut into his snap share.

J.J. McCarthy: Ready for on-field work
Tuesday, October 7, 2025 5:17 PM

Head coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday that McCarthy (ankle) will get "extensive work" on the field while the Vikings are on bye Week 6, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.

Assuming McCarthy's right high-ankle sprain responds well to the on-field activity over the next few days, the second-year quarterback is expected to be reintegrated into practices in Week 7 following a three-week absence. Veteran Carson Wentz started in each of the last three games while McCarthy has been sidelined and led Minnesota to a 2-1 record, but Wentz's status is now in question after he was briefly forced out of this past Sunday's win over the Browns with a left shoulder injury. O'Connell didn't provide many details on Wentz's injury Monday, beyond noting that the 32-year-old is "pretty sore" and set for further evaluation. The practice activity of both quarterbacks will be worth monitoring in Week 7, and O'Connell will likely take into account the health of both signal-callers before naming a starter ahead of the Vikings' next game Oct. 19 versus the Eagles.
