Liska in First in Main Event; Lucido Leads FPC

500Grand Team Tallies 221.85

Liska, Walters, Fichter & Winters Now Lead Main Event

The aptly named 500Grand squad--owned by four college friends in their only FFPC entry--has taken a slight lead in the 2020 FFPC Main Event with only one week of play left. Steve Liska, Matt Walters, Rick Fichter and Brion Winters have been buddies for nearly two decades, and their friendship has them united for a potential $500,000 payday less than a week away if they can hold off all comers.

500Grand shot up 12 spots thanks to Josh Allen's 41.25, Darren Waller's 34.5, Stefon Diggs' 25.7 and Derrick Henry's 25.2 to take a tiny 1.22-point lead over the Week 14 leader, John Gifford's Fantasy Maniacs. Dirk Jeschke moved up third place from seventh last week with Josh Neblett's Team Foster vaulting up the leader board into fourth place. Jerry Palmer also saw his Bond 007 entry ascend from 18th to fifth place heading into the final week of the Championship Round.

Nearly $1,100,000 Is Up For Grabs

Remember, players, fantasy football does not end after Week 16! Before you start drafting for 2021, jump in the 2020-21 World Famous FFPC Playoff Challenge. You'll be able to apply your regular season winnings in your account right now to the Playoff Challenge as well.

NEW THIS YEAR: The Challenge will have 12 starting roster spots rather than the 10 starting roster spots in a typical FFPC starting lineup. The two added starting roster spots will both be FLEX spots (Flex can be RB, WR or TE). This change has been made to account for the two additional NFL Playoff teams for the 2020/21 NFL season. With fourteen total playoff teams and 12 starting roster spots, each entrant will need to fade two teams, which has always been the case for the FFPC Playoff Challenge.

The main details of the Challenge are listed below:

  • Entry fee: $200 per team
  • Contest capped at a maximum of 6,250 entries
  • $500,000 Grand Prize
  • $1,092,250 in guaranteed prizes paying down to 700th place
  • Contest runs from the start of the NFL playoffs thru the Super Bowl
  • Each team consists of 12 players in an FFPC starting roster format (plus two additional flexes)
  • Each team chooses from 14 playoff teams but only 1 per team
  • All rosters will be locked at the start of the first NFL playoff game this season
  • No roster adjustments will be allowed even for games starting later
  • For more details, see the full rules and payout structure on the contest page linked right here.

How To Claim Your Prize

Congrats once again to all regular season winners! Regular season prizes in all leagues have been distributed, and here is what you need to do to get your cash:

  • If you qualified for a cash prize in any league/event, it is now in your FFPC account. No further action is required on your part.
  • If you qualified for a prize with a choice of either cash or entry into one of next year's FFPC events, a Prize Selection window will appear on your MyTeams page. You can make your selection immediately or delay your decision to a later time. Once your selection is made, your prize will be placed into your FFPC account.

PRIZE WITHDRAWAL PROCESS

  • You are now able to submit your withdrawal request.
  • All prize distribution by the FFPC is processed via check by mail or ACH transfer ONLY.
  • Any cash withdrawal of $600 or more will require a W-9 to be filled out and will generate an IRS Form-1099 for the 2020 year.
  • Please fill out your online W-9 when requesting the cash during the online withdrawal process.
  • Any funds left in your FFPC account can be used for next year's registration. Only funds that are requested for withdrawal are subject to filling a W-9 form.
  • Prizes can be used for the World Famous FFPC Playoff Challenge

PRIZE-SPLITTING BETWEEN CO-MANAGERS

  • The FFPC offers prize splitting between owners and co-managers for a cash prize total of $2,000 or more.
  • The primary owner will always remain the sole legal prize winner and MUST authorize payment to his co-manager by writing/email. The primary owner may be required to fill out and sign an authorization form indicating the name & address of his co-manager and the amount he should receive. Both the primary owner and the co-manager will each fill out a W-9. Once these documents are received and approved by the FFPC, prizes will be released to both parties. At year’s end, both the primary owner and the co-manager will each receive IRS Form-1099 for their prize awards.
  • Please email Chris at chris@myffpc.com so she can help you initiate the prize-splitting process.

Kruse & Highfill on FFPC Holiday Pods

On the latest Rotoviz Radio‘s The High-Stakes Lowdown podcast, I sit down with Brad Kruse, a high stakes player who along with his brother Tim has won numerous Footballguys and FFPC Main Event and high stakes leagues, including the 2017 Super Bracket title and the FFPC $2500-entry live auction in Las Vegas. His total career winnings in the FFPC total nearly $120,000.

In this episode, we explore why he went so heavy on rookie wide receivers this season, whether a Steelers stack in Week 16 might be the way to go and whether Russell Wilson might have to be benched with everything on the line.

You can check out a new episode of The High-Stakes Lowdown every Thursday during the NFL season on Rotoviz.com or wherever you get your podcasts. I’d also encourage you to check out all of the other great podcasts that Rotoviz Radio has to offer, too.

Then on a SPECIAL LIVE WEDNESDAY EPISODE TONIGHT AT 10/9C, yours truly and Ferrell Elliott talk to Steve Highfill, a longtime high stakes fantasy football player that has cashed nearly $200,000 and has 10 teams competing in both the 2020 Footballguys Players Championship and in the 2020 Fantasy Football Players Championship (FFPC) Main Event as well. As always, we also answer your calls, tweets, emails and more all on The High Stakes Fantasy Football Hour!

The High Stakes Fantasy Football Hour normally airs Friday nights at 10/9c, and the next episode can be heard here. You can hang out with the high stakes players in the show’s chat room if you want to listen live. You can also access full on-demand streaming available for listening anytime via a variety of apps including the HSFF Hour website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Amazon Alexa, Stitcher Radio, TuneIn Radio, Spreaker, Podchaser, Audioburst, JioSaavn, Breaker, Castbox, Overcast, PodBean, Pocket Casts, Radio Public, Podcast Addict and Anchor on your iPhone or Android device as well.
