Hi everyone,
We had two protests on the trade with Lions, Tigers and Ray Ray McLuvin involving:
Lions, Tigers receiving - Corum and 2025 R5
Vs.
Ray Ray receiving - Hockenson and 2025 R2
We emailed both owners to confirm the trade and both got back to us and confirmed it was the correct trade.
The owner of Lions, Tigers stated - "I wanted to draft Blake Corum and offered Doubs and a 2025 2nd. That offer was rejected. When I contacted directly, I was asked for one of my TEs and a 2025 2nd. I looked at Hock and Ferguson and decided Ferguson was in a better spot for the entire season due to injury and QB concerns. I then offered Hock amd 2nd for Corum and requested a 5th round pick."
The trade calculators have not caught up with Corums value just yet. Around this time last year Kyren Williams value was around 5-6 based on DTC while his value now is 17. The Rams did nothing to address the RB position this off season aside from using a Day 2 pick on Corum.
In addition, Hockenson is turning 27 in a few months while coming off a torn ACL in December. He will more than likely have Sam Darnold as his starting QB to start the season and will need to compete for targets with Jefferson and Addison.
After talking with both owners, we feel as though they both think this trade benefits each other and the owner of Lions, Tigers thinks highly of Corum. We will not be reversing this trade.
