Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will face the Atlanta Falcons in the team's first true home game on Monday night. The 26-year-old had a rough start to the game last weekend, but after a handful of stagnant drives that were highlighted by a few turnovers, Hurts was able to turn things around and finish with a solid fantasy performance. He will now face an Atlanta defense that held the lowly Steelers offense and Justin Fields to nothing but field goals in the regular season opener. The Eagles should not have as hard of a time finding the endzone, but there are two noteworthy things to point out. Wide receiver A.J. Brown (hamstring) was limited Friday in practice and if he is not at 100%, then Hurts passing upside is capped a bit. In addition, Saquon Barkley was the one to find the endzone on the ground when in the red zone last week. The Eagles quarterback will have rushing touchdowns in 2024, but the number compared to previous years is likely to come down and it makes Hurts' upside come down with it. All that said, Hurts faced plenty of adversity last week and was a solid fantasy option, and should be considered top five at his position heading into Monday night.

With Jason Kelce now retired, Hurts had issues getting on the same page as center Cam Jurgens, resulting in some botched snaps. However, things will likely get sorted out ahead of the Eagles Week 2 meeting with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night. With that said, Hurts will remain a must-start in all fantasy formats.

The Packers defense ranked top 10 in passing defense by the end of last season but struggled against the run and defending rushing quarterbacks. In what should be a tightly contested game between two playoff hopefuls, Hurts should be considered a top three option during the opening week of the regular season.

Carolina Panthers running back Miles Sanders was the leading rusher for this offense during the Week 1 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Being the leading rusher sounds nice, but Sanders only finished with 22 yards on five carries. He served as the second string back to Chuba Hubbard, but neither back got anything going last week. To be fair, it was a blowout and the Panthers needed to abandon the passing game in the second half of the contest. Regardless, neither player has a good outlook heading into the Week 2 matchup against the Las Vegas Chargers. It looks like both backs are going to split the workload, which is bad news for values as a whole. Sanders could be a deep or dynasty stash, but he isn't worth rostering in most fantasy formats.

Carolina Panthers running back Miles Sanders (finger) is not carrying an injury designation into the team's divisional matchup against the New Orleans Saints. While limited in practice earlier in the week, Sanders practiced in full on Thursday and Friday. Although rookie Jonathon Brooks (knee) is on the PUP list and will miss four games, there still isn't a fantasy-worthy role for Sanders on the Panthers. He'll be the direct backup to Chuba Hubbard on a low-powered offense. The former Eagle averaged a career-low 3.3 yards per carry in his first season in Carolina in 2023.

After being limited in the first official practice of the regular season, Sanders now looks ready to go for the Week 1 regular-season opener this Sunday against the division-rival New Orleans Saints. Even with rookie Jonathon Brooks (knee) missing the first four games of the season while on the Physically Unable to Perform list, Sanders belongs on benches to open the year as the clear backup behind starter Chuba Hubbard in Carolina's backfield. The 27-year-old didn't have much of a chance in the Panthers' atrocious offense in 2023 and averaged a career-low 3.3 yards per carry. He is, at best, an early-season handcuff for Hubbard in deeper fantasy leagues.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (knee) could miss between five and seven weeks depending on how fast and how well his PCL recovers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Nacua is coming off a historic rookie season and caught four passes for 35 yards early in last week's season opener. Now, he'll be forced to miss some time while Cooper Kupp commands an even greater share of targets on offense. Tight end Colby Parkinson and receivers Demarcus Robinson and Tyler Johnson should help fill the void left by Nacua heading into a pivotal stretch of games.

When asked if the team's Week 6 bye will help get Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (knee), and offensive linemen Steve Avila (knee) and Joe Noteboom (ankle) back after only missing the required four games while on Injured Reserve, head coach Sean McVay said, "They each have unique injuries that as of right now could keep them out longer than that." WR1 Cooper Kupp is going to eat with Nacua sidelined, while Demarcus Robinson and Tyler Johnson will also be much more involved in the passing game, as well as tight end Colby Parkinson.

The Los Angeles Rams officially placed wide receiver Puka Nacua (knee) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday. The team announced early in the week that he would go on IR, but it is now official, and he must sit out at least the next four games. It's an unfortunate development for Nacua and his fantasy managers who took him in the first or second round of preseason fantasy drafts following a 105-catch, 1,486-yard, six-touchdown season as a rookie. He will be first eligible to return following Los Angeles' Week 6 bye leading up to the matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7. While he's out, Cooper Kupp, who saw 21 targets in Week 1, should continue to dominate targets. However, wideouts Demarcus Robinson and Tyler Johnson and tight end Colby Parkinson will see increased opportunities. In deep leagues, Tutu Atwell might be worth stashing.

The 29-year-old was perfect in the opener, nailing two short-field goals and converting all four of his extra-point attempts. While it was a good week for kickers around the league last week, Elliott remains a top-tier fantasy option going up against Atlanta, who just allowed Steelers kicker Chris Boswell to score six field goals against them in Week 1. Continue to fire up Elliott as an elite fantasy option in Week 2.

That's not expected to change, meaning he should remain in all fantasy lineups heading into the Eagles Week 2 showdown with the Falcons.

However, with Joe Mixon coming off a 30-carry, 159-yard, one-touchdown performance in the Week 1 win over the Colts, Pierce wasn't expected to be a featured offensive option anyway. With Pierce out, Mixon should see another healthy workload, with Dare Ogunbowale and Cam Akers backing him up.

If Pierce were to sit out on Sunday night, Cam Akers or Dare Ogunbowale should compete for the No. 2 role behind Mixon but should not be relied upon in any fantasy setting.
