Making his first home start for the Jets in nearly a decade, Smith threw his first touchdown pass of the season on a five-yard connection with Garrett Wilson in the third quarter. Smith hasn't turned the ball over but has just 462 passing yards heading into a Week 3 road game against the Lions, who allowed three touchdown passes apiece to Tyler Shough and Josh Allen.

There will likely be more pass-heavy game scripts to come, possibly as soon as Week 2 against the Packers, but Smith gave the Jets refreshingly competent quarterback play despite his modest yardage total to win the first game of his second stint with the team. Smith showed a nice connection with wide receivers Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell, connecting with them on nine of 10 targets for 139 yards.

Pittman (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at New England, Burt Lauten of the Steelers' official site reports.

Pittman opened Week 2 prep with a limited practice Wednesday due to a foot injury that then kept him out of drills entirely Thursday and Friday, leaving him questionable ahead of the weekend. The Steelers have opted to downgrade Pittman to out for Sunday, meaning Roman Wilson and rookie second-round pick Germie Bernard are in line for larger roles in the passing game behind No. 1 option DK Metcalf.

Pittman (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Pittman was a limited participant Wednesday, but he then missed Thursday's practice and again was listed as a 'DNP' on Friday after a walkthrough. New England's 1:00 p.m ET kickoff means fantasy managers will have a chance to react if Pittman comes down to a game-time decision Sunday morning. An absence should give rookie Germie Bernard his first chance at significant playing time, and both No. 3 WR Roman Wilson and No. 2 TE Darnell Washington are candidates for extra snaps to help fill the gap.

Pittman (foot) wasn't present for the open portion of Friday's practice, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports.

The Steelers listed Pittman as a limited participant Wednesday before downgrading him to non-participation Thursday. The trend isn't promising, though it's still possible Pittman will get some work in before the end of practice Friday afternoon. The Steelers face the Patriots on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Butker connected on his lone field-goal attempt and all four of his extra-point tries during Kansas City's 31-10 win over the Broncos on Monday.

Butker's lone field goal was a 28-yard chip shot late in the third quarter, but most of his work came on PATs and kickoffs in Monday's regular-season opener. The offense under Patrick Mahomes and coordinator Eric Bieniemy looked promising in Week 1, so Butker's scoring ceiling figures to be higher this year than it was in 2025. Kansas City will stay at home for a Week 2 tilt against Indianapolis on Sunday.
