Tagovailoa (oblique) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.

Tagovailoa was listed as doubtful for Sunday's contest and Cooper Rush was already announced as the starter, so it comes as little surprise that Tagovailoa will not suit up. It's unclear if Tagovailoa will miss any further action, but he and the Falcons will have a quick turnaround with the Falcons playing Thursday night in Week 3.

Tagovailoa likely will join Michael Penix (knee) on the sideline this weekend, while head coach Kevin Stefanski announced Cooper Rush as Atlanta's starting quarterback for a second straight week, per Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com. As for Tagovailoa, he hasn't been able to practice since sustaining a strained oblique Sept. 10, and he'll likely need to get back on the field in some capacity in order to put himself in a position to be available for next Thursday's road matchup with the Packers.

Tagovailoa's continued absence from practice makes him unlikely to play in Sunday's game against Carolina. Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski hasn't named his starter as of Friday morning, but it seems like either Cooper Rush or Michael Penix (knee) will get the nod, not Tagovailoa.

Swift carried the ball 16 times for 45 yards and caught all five of his targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 9-3 loss to the Vikings.

Wet and windy conditions at Soldier Field put a damper on both teams' passing games, and Swift wound up leading Chicago in receiving yards while tying Kalif Raymond for the team lead in receptions. Swift also had the Bears' longest play from scrimmage, a 32-year catch-and-run in the fourth quarter. The veteran RB has racked up 233 combined yards through two games, but his offense could look very different in Week 3 against the Eagles as Caleb Williams (hamstring) left Sunday's loss in the fourth quarter, with Tyson Bagent finishing up under center.

Swift (ankle/knee) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game against the Vikings.

Swift and fellow RB Kyle Monangai (hamstring) were listed as limited on the Bears' first two Week 2 injury reports, but both players logged full practices Friday and thus are ready for Sunday's contest. In the Bears' 59-37 win at Carolina this past Sunday, Swift turned a 57 percent snap share into 19 touches for 134 yards from scrimmage and three rushing TDs, while Monangai handled the other 43 percent to the tune of 12 touches for 124 total yards and one TD on the ground.

Swift (ankle/knee) was limited in Thursday's practice.

Swift has been limited the last two days due to a pair of lower-body injuries to his knee and ankle. Both he and Kyle Monangai (hamstring) are on the injury report, which puts the Bears' backfield outlook in question as Sunday approaches. Friday's injury report will give firmer confirmation on Swift's status going into the Week 2 divisional matchup with the Vikings.

Metcalf caught four of nine targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Patriots.

Metcalf led the Steelers in targets again but put forth a second consecutive inefficient outing after turning 10 targets into just four catches for 40 yards in the season opener against the Falcons. Rookie second-round pick Germie Bernard led the team with 35 receiving yards Sunday in the absence of Michael Pittman (foot) as Aaron Rodgers threw for just 187 yards on 4.8 yards per pass attempt. Metcalf's heavy volume from Rodgers is encouraging, but Pittsburgh's passing game has underwhelmed as a whole heading into a Week 3 home game against the Bengals.

Metcalf secured four of 10 targets for 40 yards in the Steelers' 20-13 win over the Falcons on Sunday.

Metcalf's target total led the Steelers by a fairly comfortable margin, but the talented receiver brought in less than half of them and finished behind both Michael Pittman and Pat Freiermuth in receiving yards. The amount of attention Metcalf drew from Aaron Rodgers was nevertheless encouraging, and the valuable experience the duo garnered from working together all of last season could pay big dividends in 2026. A Week 2 road matchup against the Patriots will present less than ideal circumstances, however, as Metcalf is likely to draw plenty of coverage from shutdown cornerback Christian Gonzalez.

Metcalf (undisclosed) wasn't listed on the Steelers' first Week 1 injury report Wednesday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.

Neither Metcalf nor fellow WR Michael Pittman (hamstring) showed up on Wednesday's report after both players missed a good portion of training camp and the entire preseason slate due to health concerns. Now that Metcalf is back to 100 percent, he and Pittman are ready to take on a good portion of QB Aaron Rodgers' passes Sunday against the Falcons.

Rodgers completed 23 of 39 passes for 187 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Patriots. He also rushed once for five yards and fumbled twice, losing one.

Rodgers completed 24 of 40 passes for 221 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions and added three carries for minus-3 yards in the Steelers' 20-13 win over the Falcons on Sunday.

Doubs caught three of four targets for 96 yards in Sunday's 20-3 win over the Steelers.

Doubs failed to bring in any of his three targets during the Patriots' 13-10 loss to the Seahawks on Wednesday.
