Penix completed 13 of 21 passes for 135 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Sunday's 22-6 win over the Vikings.

The Falcons played from ahead for the entire game, and the team was happy to rely on its running game. That limited Penix's pass attempts, though he wasn't all that efficient with his opportunity, averaging only 6.43 yards per attempt while primarily targeting short areas of the field. Atlanta may be able to control their Week 3 matchup against Carolina in similar fashion, which could lead to another quiet performance from Penix.

Penix completed 27 of 42 passes for 298 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions and rushed six times for 21 yards and another score in the Falcons' 23-20 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also committed a fumble recovered by Atlanta.

Penix opened his first full season as a starter in fine fashion, looking poised and in command against a veteran, aggressive Buccaneers defense for most of the afternoon. The southpaw signal-caller leveraged Bijan Robinson's elite yards-after-catch skills on the opening drive, hitting his star running back for a 50-yard catch-and-run touchdown. Penix would go on to cap off an 18-play, 91-yard marathon drive in the fourth quarter with a four-yard touchdown run, and he then drove the Falcons a total of 60 yards in eight plays to put them in position for a would-be game-tying field goal that Younghoe Koo couldn't convert. Penix also lost Drake London to a shoulder injury for that final drive, and it remains to be seen if he'll have his top target available for a Week 2 road showdown with the Vikings next Sunday night.

Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson said Thursday that Penix, who did not suit up for any preseason action, is "ready to go" for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Buccaneers, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.

Penix said, "I pride myself to make sure that each and every week I'm always ready come game day," though he acknowledged that "the biggest difference is the reps," or lack thereof, as he prepares for the fourth regular-season start of his NFL career. The presence of star playmakers Bijan Robinson and Drake London will assist Penix in his goal of hitting the ground running, and it's encouraging that Darnell Mooney (shoulder) has returned to practice in a limited capacity and seems to have a shot at playing Week 1. On the other hand, Atlanta's offensive line had looked like one of the team's major strengths the entire offseason, but with Kaleb McGary (leg) now done for the year and swing backup Storm Norton (ankle) out 6-to-8 weeks, third-stringer Elijah Wilkinson is expected to start at right tackle. The lack of reliable blindside protection will be a notable hurdle for the southpaw signal-caller to overcome Sunday and throughout the 2025 campaign.

Hampton carried the ball eight times for 24 yards and caught one of his two targets for an additional yard in the 20-9 win over the Raiders on Monday.

There wasn't a whole lot of positive takeaways for the rookie in this one. One week after leading the backfield in touches, Hampton split the carries evenly with Najee Harris at eight apiece, and the veteran also chipped in with two receptions for 20 yards. Perhaps more crucially, a botched handoff on the Chargers' penultimate possession directly led to a fumble which gave the Raiders a modicum of life, and then Harris finished the ensuing series to ice the game. Hampton could turn things around Week 3 against a Broncos defense that just allowed 215 total yards to Jonathan Taylor.

Hampton rushed 15 times for 48 yards and caught both of his targets for 13 yards in Friday's 27-21 victory over Kansas City.

Hampton was deployed as the every-down starter Friday, generating 15 more combined touches than Najee Harris (eye). The team could have been easing Harris back after he suffered an eye injury that held the back out for all of training camp and the preseason, but the stark difference in touches points the fantasy value arrow strongly in Hampton's direction to kick off the year. If the North Carolina product continues to dominate the backfield work moving forward, he could prove to be an even greater draft day steal than managers originally hoped. Hampton's volume combined with a plus matchup against the Raiders next Monday make him a solid play Week 2.

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh told Rich Eisen in a pre-broadcast meeting that Hampton is in line to draw the start over fellow running back Najee Harris in Friday's game against the Chiefs in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Alex Insdorf of BoltBeat.com reports.

Even though the Chargers invested a first-round pick in him in April's draft, Hampton was initially expected to open the season in the No. 2 role behind Harris, who signed with Los Angeles in March following four consecutive 1,000-yard rushing campaigns in Pittsburgh to begin his career. However, after Harris suffered a superficial eye injury in a Fourth of July fireworks accident that kept him from practicing throughout training camp and the preseason, Hampton was able to pick up extended reps with the first-team offense and is now poised to take the field for the Chargers' first snap of 2025. Despite his designation as the Week 1 starter, however, Hampton won't necessarily be guaranteed a three-down workload, as Harris gained clearance for the season opener following three consecutive full practices this week. Per Eric Smith of the Chargers' official site, Harbaugh wasn't willing to go into specifics Wednesday regarding how the snaps and touches might be distributed between Hampton and Harris, though Hampton likely projects as the more reliable option of the two in fantasy lineups since he's been able to get more reps under his belt throughout the summer. A clearer idea regarding the weekly workload breakdown between the two backs may not become apparent until after a few games, when Harris should be fully reconditioned and free of limitations stemming from the eye injury.

Flowers brought in seven of 11 targets for 75 yards in the Ravens' 41-17 win over the Browns on Sunday.

Flowers once again filled the role of a true No. 1 receiver, leading the way in receptions, receiving yards and targets for the Ravens. While he matched his Week 1 catch total, Flowers didn't come close to approximating his 143-yard tally and didn't get into the end zone. However, Baltimore naturally wasn't pressed to be anywhere near as aggressive through the air as in that season-opening game, and the Flowers-Lamar Jackson connection appears to be in prime form going into a Week 3 home showdown against the Lions on Monday night, Sept. 22.

Flowers had seven receptions on nine targets for 143 yards and a touchdown while adding eight rushing yards on two attempts in Sunday's 41-40 loss to the Bills.

Flowers overcame an undisclosed injury during the practice week in order to suit up for Baltimore's season opener. Fantasy managers were elated to not only see the speedy receiver in the starting lineup, but also back producing true WR1 numbers after suffering a knee sprain in Week 18 last year. The 143 receiving yards set a new high-water mark for the third-year wideout, while his nine targets finished five ahead of the second-highest player (Rashod Bateman). Flowers is shaping up to be an elite fantasy option heading into next Sunday's tilt against the Browns.

Thomas (wrist) practiced fully Wednesday.

Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union previously reported that coach Liam Coen acknowledged Monday that Thomas approached Week 2 action with a wrist injury, but the wideout still managed to record a 94 percent snap share in Sunday's 31-27 loss to the Bengals. With a full practice under his belt Wednesday, Thomas is slated to face the Texans this weekend, and in the process maintain his key role in the Jaguars passing attack. Through two games to date, Thomas has been targeted 19 times (including 12 times versus Cincinnati), but has caught just five passes for 60 yards in that span. While the 2024 first-rounder's slow start is mildly concerning, assuming he's not hampered by his wrist issue, a spike in production and efficiency seems inevitable for the talented 22-year-old, who compiled a 87/1,282/10 receiving line (on 133 targets) in 17 regular-season games last year.

Jaguars coach Liam Coen said Monday that Thomas entered Sunday's 31-27 loss to the Bengals nursing a wrist injury, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.

Thomas wasn't listed on Jacksonville's injury report leading up to Sunday's loss, so his wrist injury could have been sustained over the weekend. An injury would somewhat explain Thomas' inefficiency versus Cincinnati, as he secured just four of 12 targets for 49 yards during the narrow loss and at times seemed to visibly shy away from contact. Coen said Thomas "knows he needs to have a great week of practice," per Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville radio, so fantasy managers will need to monitor whether the Year 2 wideout is listed on Wednesday's first injury report of Week 3 ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Texans.

For the second time in as many games to open the new season, the Trevor Lawrence-Thomas connection was in less than optimal form. The star wideout led the Jaguars in targets by a wide margin, but he was only third in receiving yards despite the abundance of opportunities. Thomas also saw Trevor Lawrence's trio of TD passes go to No. 3 receiver Dyami Brown and running backs Travis Etienne and Bhayshul Tuten, leading to another lackluster afternoon. Thomas' next opportunity to snap out of his early-season doldrums comes in a Week 3 home divisional matchup against the Texans.

Butker went 1-for-2 on field-goal attempts and made both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Eagles.

Butker missed a 58-yard field goal wide right in the first quarter before later connecting on a 56-yarder to finish off the team's first possession of the second quarter. The kicker's miss proved to be the difference in the contest, though it's hard to pin the blame on him considering the distance. Butker has now converted four of five field goals, two of which were from 50-plus yards, and made two out of three PATs over the first two games in 2025.

Butker went 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts but missed his lone extra-point try during the Chiefs' 27-21 loss to the Chargers on Friday.

The Chiefs' offense struggled in the first half, but Butker helped his team get on the board with a 35-yard field goal in the second quarter before connecting on a 59-yard try as the first half came to a close. The veteran kicker capped things off by converting on a 27-yard chip shot late in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't a perfect night for him after his extra-point try in the third missed wide right. Butker attempted just 25 field-goal attempts in 2024 but was limited to 13 regular-season games due to a left knee injury. As long as the Chiefs are led by Patrick Mahomes, Butker's floor should be one of the highest among kickers on a week-to-week basis.
