Head coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that Adams had successful surgery on his left hamstring, and the Rams are hopeful that the wide receiver will be able to return on the early side of his 6-to-10-week recovery timetable, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports.

Adams tweaked his hamstring on the Rams' final offensive possession of a Week 6 loss to the Cardinals on Oct. 18, and McVay revealed one day later that the wide receiver had a rupture of the hamstring and required surgery, with the aim to return "a little after" the Rams' Week 11 bye. L.A. seems to be targeting a Week 12 matchup with the Packers on Wednesday, Nov. 25, which is a shade more than six weeks from the initial injury. In any case, Konata Mumpfield, Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell will continue to earn the WR reps behind top option Puka Nacua.

Adams (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

As a result, Adams is slated to miss at least four games, although Ian Rapoport of NFL Network previously suggested that the wideout was hoping to return not too long after the Rams' Week 11 bye. In his absence, Jordan Whittington, Konata Mumpfield and Tutu Atwellare candidates to see added looks behind top WR Puka Nacua.

Adams sustained a ruptured left hamstring in Sunday's 18-16 loss to the Cardinals and is slated to undergo a procedure that he hopes will allow him to return "a little after" the Rams' Week 11 bye, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Adams exited the game on the Rams' final offensive possession, walking gingerly off the field after he was in discomfort while running a route during the team's second-to-last snap of the day. Head coach Sean McVay announced Monday that he expects the veteran receiver to be sidelined for around 6-to-10 weeks, per Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register, with how Adams responds to surgery likely determining whether he makes it back at the short or long end of that timeline. With Puka Nacua already locked into a massive weekly target share as the Rams' clear No. 1 wideout, Adams' absence is more likely to open up additional opportunities in the passing game for supporting players such as running back Kyren Williams, wideouts Jordan Whittington and Konata Mumpfield and tight ends Colby Parkinson and Tyler Higbee.

Singletary is expected to handle a bigger role out of the Giants' backfield after Tyrone Tracy (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

The Giants have their bye in Week 8, but Tracy will be required to miss at least four games with his injury, so it appears Singletary and Cam Skattebo (hamstring) will form the backfield duo with Tracy sidelined and Najee Harris recently released. Singletary scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime last Sunday against the Texans, finishing with 55 total yards and the touchdown on eight touches. If Skattebo is healthy, he figures to operate as the lead back, but Singletary showed enough to warrant 6-to-10 touches with upside for more. He's worth picking up in most fantasy leagues.

Singletary carried the ball five times for 41 yards and a touchdown and caught all three of his targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 27-24 overtime win over the Texans.

Attrition may have helped solve the Giants' backfield mess, at least in the short term. Tyrone Tracy left the game in the second quarter with a hamstring injury and didn't return, and Cam Skattebo may also have picked up a hamstring strain on his final tote of the day, a 42-yard dash in OT that set up a 30-yard TD run for Singletary that won the game. A well-timed Week 8 bye could allow both RBs to avoid missing any further time, but if either or both are still on the shelf on the other side of the break, Singletary could wind up handling a much bigger role in Week 9 against the Eagles.

Singletary turned four carries into 14 yards and hauled in his lone target for 19 yards during Sunday's 34-27 loss to the Saints on Sunday.

Singletary was back in action Sunday after being a healthy scratch in each of the Giants' three games prior to Week 6. Three of his four carries went for two yards or fewer, although he did log a nine-yard rush and 19-yard catch on back-to-back plays early in the fourth quarter. Singletary's 31 offensive snaps were most among Giants running backs, but the team's backfield situation is a mess, given Cam Skattebo saw the field for only six offensive snaps and did not record a carry. The Giants will hit the road for Week 7 against the Texans on Oct. 25.

Perine rushed four times for 16 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 35-13 win over the Ravens.
