Smith took three sacks while trying to play catch-up all afternoon, and in that context, his final numbers were all the more impressive. The veteran signal-caller helped the Jets claw back from a 17-3 halftime deficit to get within four entering the fourth quarter, but his interception at the Patriots' 24-yard line early in the period snuffed out a potential scoring opportunity. Smith has certainly given New York some much-needed veteran stability at the quarterback position and displayed encouraging chemistry with returning rookie Omar Cooper (6-103-1) on Sunday, so there's reason for optimism heading into a favorable Week 7 home matchup against the Dolphins on Sunday.

Robinson (hamstring) did not practice Thursday for the second day in a row, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.

Robinson has yet to resume practicing after sitting out Atlanta's Week 7 win over the 49ers due to a hamstring injury. Robinson will likely need to practice in some capacity Friday to avoid being ruled out for a second consecutive game, in which case Khalil Herbert would likely be elevated from the practice squad to work as Bijan Robinson's backup again.

According to Rapoport, Brown recently had a knee issue flare up, which has the wide receiver's status for Sunday's game against the Dolphins in doubt. Brown has six catches for 75 yards on 16 targets in two games since returning from a four-game absence due to an ankle injury.

Wilson said Wednesday that he won't ask to be traded from the Jets, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.

Trade talks are heating up across the league and teams in the Jets' position are being looked at as potential sellers at the deadline. Wilson, who has been a Jet since 2022, will not seek a trade from the club, however. The fifth-year wideout is off to a strong start this season, drawing a 25.8 percent target share and averaging 1.98 yards per route run.

Geno Smith has undergone his fair share of struggles in his return to New York this season, but Wilson remains his top target with 48 looks from the veteran signal-caller over the first six games. Wilson will take a 35-418-3 line into a Week 7 home matchup against the Dolphins next Sunday.

Head coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that Butker will "probably" serve as the Chiefs' kicker in Sunday's game against the Broncos, Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star reports.

The Chiefs signed veteran kicker Justin Tucker to their practice squad Wednesday, with the move seemingly calling into question Butker's job security. Though he didn't give Butker the strongest endorsement, Reid noted that the Chiefs believe that a technique problem rather than any physical ailment has contributed to Butker missing five field-goal and one extra-point attempt through the team's first six games, per Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com. The Chiefs are planning for Butker to get the bulk of the kicking reps in practice this week, and if he can assuage some of the concern about his technique, he'll suit up Sunday and look to solidify his standing atop the depth chart.

Butker went 1-for-3 on field-goal attempts during Sunday night's 20-3 loss to Seattle.

Butker was off his game again in Week 7, leaving a 58-yard attempt short as time expired in the first half before later missing a 45-yard try wide right in the fourth quarter. The kicker was able to convert one field-goal attempt Sunday, nailing a 50-yarder in the third quarter. Butker has now gone 11-for-16 on field-goal attempts, including 2-for-6 from 50-plus yards, over the first six contests of the 2026 campaign.

Butker made three of his four field-goal attempts and one of two PATs in the Chiefs' 22-6 win over the Chargers on Sunday.

Butker made field goals from 30, 44 and 50 yards while missing an attempt from 52 yards early in the fourth quarter. The kicker moves to 10-for-13 on field-goal attempts and 14-for-15 on PATs through five regular-season games so far in 2026.

The Eagles placed Pierce (undisclosed) on injured reserve Wednesday

Pierce didn't take the field for either of the Eagles' final two possessions of Monday's 38-21 loss to the Cowboys after sustaining an undisclosed injury with 8:38 remaining in the fourth quarter, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Pierce rushed 14 times for 47 yards and a touchdown and brought in his only target for one yard in the Eagles' 38-21 loss to the Cowboys on Monday night. He also returned two kickoffs for 37 yards.
