The Commanders officially placed Ekeler (Achilles) on injured reserve Monday.

Ekeler went down while running a route in the flat in the fourth quarter of Thursday's loss in Green Bay. After undergoing the necessary tests, a torn Achilles was confirmed, wiping out the rest of his 2025 campaign. Rookie seventh-rounder Jacory Croskey-Merritt is expected to take on a good portion of the early-down work, but Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez also are on hand to mix in.

Ekeler suffered a torn Achilles during Thursday's 27-18 loss to the Packers, an MRI confirmed Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Ekeler went down with a non-contact right Achilles injury late in the fourth quarter and was carted to the locker room. His 2025 season is over after he posted 14 carries for 43 yards and five receptions for 38 yards. The 30-year-old running back is expected to be placed on injured reserve at some point in the next week. The Commanders will move forward with Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez in the backfield. Ekeler will be an unrestricted free agent in March.

Ekeler is set to undergo an MRI on Friday, but the Commanders believe that he suffered a torn Achilles, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Harris carried eight times for 28 yards and added two receptions for 20 yards on two targets in Monday's 20-9 win over the Raiders.

After getting in limited practice reps in training camp and the preseason while recovering from a superficial eye injury, Harris took on a light role in Week 1, playing just 18 percent of the offensive snaps and logging two touches (one carry, one catch). However, the veteran poached more work from rookie first-round pick Omarion Hampton in Monday's victory. While Hampton continued to pace the Chargers backfield in playing time with a 62 percent snap share, he mustered just 24 yards on eight carries and had one catch for one yard while also committing a late fumble as the Bolts tried to ice the game. Harris wasn't much more efficient, but he still nearly doubled up his snap share from the season opener, taking the field for 20 plays (34 percent). Hampton will likely continue to lead the backfield during Sunday's game against Denver, but Harris could see his snap share tick up a little more.

Harris rushed once for five yards and secured his only target for another five yards during Friday's 27-21 victory over Kansas City.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh said in advance of Friday's opener that Harris would play but that Omarion Hampton would draw the start, and the rookie ultimately handled a workhorse role. Hampton totaled 17 touches against the Chiefs' firm defensive front, rushing 15 times for 48 yards and securing both of his targets for 13 yards. Harris' backfield role could grow as he puts further distance between himself and the minor eye injury that forced him to sit out all of training camp and the preseason, but Hampton looks solidified as the starter in Los Angeles' backfield and projects to dominate touches again in Week 2 on the road against Las Vegas.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh said Wednesday that Harris was on track to play in the season opener, and after the running back logged three consecutive full practices this week, Harbaugh's prediction has now come to pass. Per Smith, Harbaugh wasn't willing to go into specifics regarding how extensively Harris might be used Friday, though he told Rich Eisen of ESPN in a pre-broadcast meeting that rookie first-round pick Omarion Hampton would draw the start over Harris, according to Alex Insdorf of BoltBeat.com. Harris is still expected to have a role in the Chargers' game plan, but the uncertainty of his snap and touch counts after he missed all of training camp and the preseason while recovering from a superficial eye injury make it difficult to depend on him as an option in Week 1 fantasy lineups.

Folk made his only field-goal attempt and was successful on his only PAT try in Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Bills.

Folk made a 51-yard field-goal attempt in the second quarter, showing that the 40-year-old kicker still has some power left in his leg. The made PAT came on the heels of a fourth-quarter touchdown pass by Tyrod Taylor, who could start at quarterback in Week 3 against the Buccaneers after Justin Fields suffered a concussion in the loss to Buffalo.

Folk made both of his field-goal attempts and both PAT tries in Sunday's 34-32 loss to the Steelers.

Folk also had a missed PAT that was negated by a Steelers penalty, which resulted in the Jets trying a two-point conversion instead. New York didn't get it and spent the rest of the game chasing that point, ultimately failing another two-point conversion in the two-point loss. Folk was perfect on his official kicks, connecting on field-goal attempts of 35 and 51 yards. The Jets' offense was surprisingly effective in Week 1, giving the veteran kicker some additional upside ahead of a Week 2 home game against the Bills.

Folk opened Sunday's scoring with a 35-yard field goal in the first quarter before converting on a 51-yard try late in the second quarter to give the Jets a nine-point lead. Next up for Folk and the Jets is an AFC East clash against the Bills on Sunday, Sept. 14.

Smith completed 24 of 43 pass attempts for 180 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions while rushing five times for 20 yards in Monday's 20-9 loss to the Chargers.
