Ridder agreed to a contract with the Vikings on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy (ankle) will avoid a stint on injured reserve, but since he's considered week-to-week and is likely to miss multiple games, the Vikings will bring Ridder aboard to bolster their depth under center. Carson Wentz looks on track to replace McCarthy as the Vikings' starter beginning with Sunday's game against the Bengals, but Ridder could displace undrafted rookie Max Brosmer for the top backup job. A 2022 third-round pick, Ridder has made 25 appearances (18 starts) through his first three NFL seasons between stops with the Falcons and Raiders, completing 63.6 percent of his passes for 6.8 yards per attempt and a 16:14 TD:INT while adding 293 yards and five scores on the ground.

McCaffrey carried the ball 13 times for 55 yards and caught six of seven targets for 52 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-21 win over the Saints.

With the 49ers' offense missing a number of key players, including Brock Purdy (toe/shoulder), George Kittle (hamstring) and Brandon Aiyuk (knee), McCaffrey put the team on his back and carried it to a second straight victory to begin the season. His seven-yard TD reception from Mac Jones just before halftime was McCaffrey's first score of the year, but he's topped 100 scrimmage yards in both of the Niners' games so far. In Week 3, he'll take aim at a Cardinals defense he didn't face during an injury-plagued 2024, but which he lit up for an incredible 364 combined yards and seven total touchdowns in their two 2023 meetings.

McCaffrey (calf) handled 22 carries for 69 yards and nine receptions for 73 yards on 10 targets in Sunday's 17-13 win over the Seahawks.

McCaffrey shook off any concerns from popping up on the injury report late in the practice week by handling 31 combined touches in a tight victory over a division foe to kick off the regular season. Newly-acquired backup Brian Robinson (9-33-0) was the only other back to receive a carry outside of McCaffrey. The 49ers didn't have the luxury of taking a cautious approach with its star running back after TE George Kittle (hamstring) and WR Jauan Jennings (shoulder) both left Sunday's contest due to injury. McCaffrey could continue to see extra work as a receiver if either of his banged-up teammates are forced to miss next Sunday's road matchup against the Saints.

McCaffrey's status heading into Week 1 was cloudy after he was limited in Thursday's practice due to the calf issue before sitting out Friday's session entirely. However, after Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that McCaffrey was a "big participant' in Saturday's team walk-through, the 49ers were apparently satisfied enough with the star tailback's condition to clear him for the season opener. Though McCaffrey looks poised to handle his usual lead role out of the backfield, the 49ers could still aim to ease him with a lighter workload than initially planned if the team still has any lingering concern about the health of his calf.

Reed announced Tuesday via social media that he underwent successful surgeries to repair a fractured collarbone and a Jones fracture in his left foot.

Surgery was expected after the wideout fractured his collarbone in last Thursday's win over the Commanders, but Reed has also elected to simultaneously get a procedure for his foot fracture, which popped up during training camp. The multiple surgeries aren't expected to alter the timeline for his return, which is estimated at 6-to-8 weeks. Even with Reed out of the picture for the next several games, the Packers still have plenty of depth at receiver on hand in Matthew Golden, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, Savion Williams and Malik Heath.

Rapoport previously reported Friday that Reed will undergo surgery next week to address the injury, and the estimated 6-to-8-week recovery timeline will keep him out through early-to-mid-November. The Packers will likely place Reed on injured reserve in the coming days to open up a spot on the 53-man roster. While Reed is sidelined, the Packers should have extra snaps available for all of the remaining members of their deep rotation of receivers (Matthew Golden, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, Savion Williams and Malik Heath). Through Green Bay's first two games, Doubs is the only Packers receiver to play more than 70 percent of snaps (71 percent Week 1, 74 percent Week 2).

Reed (collarbone) will have surgery next week and hopes to return in November, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The Packers diagnosed Reed with a broken collarbone following Thursday's win over Washington. He'll presumably be placed on injured reserve soon, which could open up more playing time for fellow Green Bay wideouts Matthew Golden, Dontayvion Wicks, Savion Williams and Malik Heath. The team also may get Christian Watson (knee) back before Reed, who was playing through a Jones fracture in his foot prior to the collarbone fracture.

Swift practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday due to a quadriceps injury.

Swift has kicked off the 2025 season in his typical role as the Bears' No. 1 running back, turning 29 carries into 116 yards (4.0 YPC) and one touchdown and six catches (on eight targets) into 18 yards through two contests. Meanwhile, rookie seventh-round pick Kyle Monangai has combined for nine touches in that same span. With an injury now in tow, though, Swift's status will be one to watch as the week goes on to ensure he'll be out there Sunday against the Cowboys.

Swift rushed 12 times for 63 yards and a touchdown and brought in all three targets for six yards in the Bears' 52-21 loss to the Lions on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.

Swift was able to serve as a bright spot for the Bears' offense on a mostly forgettable afternoon, putting together an efficient performance on the ground that included a three-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. However, Swift also short-circuited what appeared to be a scoring drive when he lost a fumble at the Lions' 31-yard line late in the first quarter. Through two games, Swift remains the clear No. 1 back in Chicago's ground attack, and he'll have a favorable matchup at home against the Cowboys in a Week 3 showdown next Sunday.

Swift rushed 17 times for 53 yards and caught three of five targets for 12 yards in Monday's 27-24 loss to the Vikings.

Swift finished five yards shy of Caleb Williams' team-high rushing total and was the only Bears running back to record a carry, though rookie Kyle Monangai had one catch out of the backfield. While Swift seems locked into a high touch floor again due to a lack of competition, efficiency remains a concern, as he averaged a career-low 3.8 yards per carry last season and dipped to just 3.1 in Monday's small sample. Finding running room won't be easy Week 2 against the Lions, who held Swift to 59 yards on 20 carries (3.0 YPC) in two 2024 meetings.

Elliott converted both of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries in the Eagles' win over the Chiefs on Sunday.

Elliott has made a 58-yard field goal in back-to-back weeks to open the season after kicks of 50-plus yards were his bugaboo during the 2024 campaign. In addition to the 58-yarder, Elliott also made a 51-yard field goal against Kansas City on Sunday. On the season, Elliott has made all three of his field goals -- all 50-plus yards -- and all five of his extra points.

Elliott missed eight field-goal attempts and didn't connect on a kick longer than 50 yards in the 2024 regular season, but he could be in the early stages of a bounce-back campaign, as his lone field goal Thursday came from three yards shy of his career long. Philadelphia's short-yardage success and aggressiveness led to more PAT tries than field-goal attempts for Elliott, but he can provide fantasy utility if he regains the accuracy that helped him miss three or fewer field-goal attempts in each of the 2021, 2022 and 2023 regular seasons.

Herbert completed 19 of 27 attempts for 242 yards and two touchdowns in Monday's 20-9 win over the Raiders. He also led the team in rushing on nine attempts for 31 yards but fumbled once.

Herbert completed 25 of 34 pass attempts for 318 yards and three touchdowns while taking seven carries for 32 yards in Friday's 27-21 victory over Kansas City.

Allen caught five of his team-leading seven targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in the 20-9 win over the Raiders on Monday.

Allen finished with seven receptions (on 10 targets) for 68 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 27-21 win over the Chiefs.

Jeudy secured four of eight targets for 51 yards in the Browns' 41-17 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.

Jeudy recorded five receptions on eight targets for 66 yards in Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Bengals.

Moore caught his lone target for 31 yards and carried the ball twice for six yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-10 win over the Jets.
