Josh Allen Looks To Return To MVP Form Against The Jets

Every player has their off games. Look no further than Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (elbow/shoulder). The favorite to win MVP racked up 93.2 fantasy points in Weeks 15 and 16, plus over 20 in nine straight games. That made his dud against New England (184 total yards and one touchdown) even more surprising. Allen noted that he suffered an elbow contusion against the Patriots but does not carry an injury designation into the weekend. Allen should return to form against another divisional foe, the New York Jets. While New York's defense is just outside the top 10 for fewest fantasy points allowed to the position, they've surrendered the second-most rushing touchdowns (seven) to quarterbacks. If a fantasy manager survived Allen's disappointing stat line from a week ago, they shouldn't be shy about starting him again. Allen is a clear-cut QB1 for Week 17.

Josh Allen Says His Arm Is Fine

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (elbow) said after the Week 16 win over the division-rival New England Patriots on Sunday that his arm is fine after he suffered a right-elbow contusion in the second half. Allen said his elbow got hit, which caused him to lose feeling in his throwing arm. The loss of feeling in his arm contributed to a wobbly pass after he took the hit, and he was seen shaking his hand trying to get feeling back. "Just hit the funny bone nerve and went to throw the ball and just had no feeling in the hand," Allen said. He worked with trainers on the sideline to get heat applied to his arm and went back into the game for the next series. The 28-year-old is the front-runner for the MVP award in 2024 despite throwing for 154 yards, one touchdown and a pick in the win over the Pats. Baker Mayfield Impressive Despite Week 16 Loss

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 31 of 43 pass attempts for 303 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception during Sunday's Week 16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He also took four sacks and rushed for 42 yards. Finally, Mayfield fumbled once, but he was able to pick up the loose ball. All in all, Mayfield had a solid showing, but it wasn't enough to propel Tampa Bay over Dallas. The 29-year-old ranks as a top-six fantasy quarterback this season with his 3,920 yards, 37 total touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. Fantasy managers should view him as a top option among quarterbacks when he takes on a subpar Carolina Panthers defense in Week 17, coinciding with most fantasy leagues' championships.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase is the best wideout in the National Football League, catching 108 passes for 1,510 yards and 16 touchdowns this season. With the Bengals hoping to secure a spot in the postseason, Cincinnati needs a victory over Denver on Saturday. Without question, the Broncos defense could be a challenge for Chase and the rest of the offense. However, he should remain the preferred target for Joe Burrow (knee, wrist) in the pivotal matchup. Chase could be even more involved if Tee Higgins (ankle, knee) doesn't play.

Ja'Marr Chase Tallies 16th Score Of The Season

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase caught six of his eight targets for 97 yards and a score during their victory over the Cleveland Browns. The LSU product also added seven yards on his lone carry. Chase's eight targets were the second-most on the team behind only Tee Higgins while his yardage total paced all Cincinnati pass catchers. Chase found the end zone in the fourth quarter on a 32-yard strike from Joe Burrow. Chase has now tallied a league-leading 16 TD receptions and has found the end zone nine times over his past six contests. During this span, Chase has tallied at least 80+ yards in all but one contest. Chase will continue his WR1 campaign in a Week 17 tilt against a tough Denver Broncos secondary that has allowed the eighth-fewest PPR points to opposing wideouts.

Ja'Marr Chase Looking To Stay Productive In Week 16

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase has been the best fantasy wideout all year. In the former LSU Tiger's 14 appearances this season, he has amassed 102 catches (138 targets) for 1,413 yards and 15 touchdowns. He found the end zone eight times in the four games heading into the Week 15 win over the Titans. While Chase didn't score versus Tennessee, he still had nine catches. With the Browns on tap for Week 16, nothing should change regarding Chase, meaning he should continue to get plenty of attention from Joe Burrow (wrist, knee). Keep him starting in all fantasy formats against Cleveland.

Jared Goff A Top-10 Play In Week 17 Versus The 49ers

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has put together a fine season in 2024. Throwing for 4,095 yards, 33 passing touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. This week, the Lions travel to take on the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of the NFC championship game from last year's playoffs. Certainly, Goff and the Lions will want some revenge as the 49ers went on to play in the Super Bowl. On the season, the 49ers' defense ranks in the top five in points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is coming off his best game of the year in a loss to Buffalo. He will try to continue that positive momentum in a Week 16 matchup at the Chicago Bears. The Bears' defense is tops in the NFL in allowing the fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. It's a tough road tilt for Goff but the quarterback still sets up well from a fantasy perspective and should continue his hot stretch for fantasy managers needing a good playoff performance. With David Montgomery out, the Lions offense will lean on Jahmyr Gibbs in the backfield but the passing game should be more featured without the team's big bruiser. Goff will likely not throw as much as he did against Buffalo, but even with reduced volume, he should put up nice numbers on the road.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold gets a tough matchup on Sunday in a rematch with the Green Bay Packers. The USC product has been on a tear recently. However, it wasn't a gauntlet of the league's most formidable defensive units. The 27-year-old will get an actual test in Week 17 against a Packers squad, allowing the ninth-fewest passing yards per game (209.7). Green Bay has been staunch against fantasy QBs in 2024 -; letting up the third-lowest fantasy point total per outing in the league (15.4). Still, the veteran is amid a career year and threw three TDs in his last meeting with Green Bay in Week 4. Patrick Mahomes Dazzles In Christmas Day Win

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 29 of 38 pass attempts (76%) for 320 yards and three touchdowns in the 29-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mahomes passed for over 300 yards and multiple touchdowns for the first time this year in Week 17. The veteran quarterback also rushed once for 12 yards in this game. After leading the league in interceptions to begin the year, Mahomes has now gone six straight games without a turnover. With this win, the Chiefs have officially locked up the top seed in the AFC. Given that the team has nothing to gain by playing their starters next week, it should be assumed that we have seen the last of Mahomes in the regular season. That said, Mahomes did tell the media that he will prepare to start in Week 18 against the Broncos until Coach Andy Reid says otherwise.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is off the injury report and ready to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day in Week 17. Green Bay had allowed the seventh-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers leading up to Week 16. Still, Jefferson scored 20.5 fantasy points against them earlier this year and is a no-doubt WR1.

The former LSU Tiger has been as steady as they come in 2024 -; notching at least 14 fantasy points in all but two outings. Jefferson matched a season-high with 14 targets in last weekend's win against the Chicago Bears and recorded his third straight game with seven receptions. He gets a Seahawks D in Week 16, which has let up the tenth-most touchdowns to wideouts this season (15), and the 25-year-old has gotten into the end zone in back-to-back weeks after a six-week stretch in which he scored nary a touchdown. Smith was 17/23 passing, but three and outs and short drives characterized Seattle's day. Smith also missed several easy throws throughout the game that would have moved the chains. The output was surprising considering Smith came into Week 17 at No. 3 in passing yards in the league. Smith's dud also significantly affected Seattle's pass catchers. No one on the Seahawks surpassed four receptions or 43 receiving yards. Seattle managed to come out of the week with a much-needed win. However, it was an ugly win at that. Smith will look to lead the Seahawks to the playoffs with better numbers in Week 18 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Geno Smith A QB2 In Week 17

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith checks in as a QB2 in Week 17 against the Chicago Bears. Smith has a chance to put up solid numbers against a Bears defense that just got torched by Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions. The Bears have not played particularly well over the second half of the season given the turmoil in the organization and the multiple coaching changes. The Seahawks must win on Thursday to keep their playoff hopes alive. The offense should be aggressive both on the ground and through the air as a result. Smith should reach 200 yards passing without issue. The question is whether the touchdowns will flow for him. He has only thrown multiple touchdowns in a game on three occasions this year. That has limited him to the QB2 range despite being third in the league in passing yards. He is a great option for two-quarterback leagues, but he should remain on benches in leagues that only start a single quarterback.

Geno Smith Delivers QB1 Numbers Despite Two Interceptions In Week 16

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith was solid for fantasy in Week 16 against the Minnesota Vikings. Smith tossed two interceptions, but he managed 314 passing yards and just his second three-touchdown game of the season. Smith also attempted 43 passes this week which was his highest total since Week 6. The volume led to fantasy fun for Smith and the various Seahawk pass catchers. The Vikings presented a great matchup for Seattle's passing game so the output is not surprising. However, the interceptions continue to be a problem for Smith. The two picks on Sunday marked his 14th and 15th of the season. It is a huge reason why the Seahawks are falling out of playoff contention. Still, Smith is a solid QB2 over the final weeks of the season. That is especially true in Week 17 when the Seahawks travel to face a Bears team that just got torched by Lions quarterback Jared Goff.

Amon-Ra St. Brown In Line For A Big Week Against San Francisco

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown hauled in six passes for 70 receiving yards and a touchdown in a Week 16 victory at the Chicago Bears. Not much was asked of the Lions' offense in the fourth quarter, as they had a two-score lead for most of the second half. Throughout the season, St. Brown has been Jared Goff's go-to target, averaging a 25.4% target share, 75 receiving yards per game, and having 11 touchdowns. This week, the Lions travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers in a rematch of last year's NFC title game. Look for St. Brown to have a big game, as the Lions are four-point favorites on the road and want to keep pushing for that No. 1 spot in the NFC. He faces a tough test in Week 16 at the Chicago Bears but should produce for fantasy managers in the fantasy playoffs. The Bears' defense allows the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers this season. Chicago held St. Brown in check in Week 13 in Detroit as the talented receiver hauled in five passes for 73 yards on seven targets. The volume will not be as heavy in Week 16 but look for St. Brown to be involved as the team's biggest target in the passing game. If the Lions find success on the ground, they could lean into the rushing attack in this game so the game script could be very different from last week. It doesn't figure to be a huge breakout game for St. Brown for the second week in a row but look for a solid performance in this game.

Caleb Williams Disappoints In Week 17 Loss To Seattle

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams put up a dud in Thursday night's 6-3 loss against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 17. The rookie quarterback completed 16 of his 28 passes for 122 yards and an interception, adding 37 yards rushing on his five carries. Williams has had a roller coaster of a first season in the NFL and has struggled to consistently produce, as Week 17 marked his seventh game with zero touchdowns. The former USC Trojan hopes to end his rookie campaign on a high note in Week 18 as his Bears will travel to play the Green Bay Packers.

Nevertheless, Williams ranks just outside the top 12 fantasy quarterbacks this season, and he could be due for another strong showing in this week's potential shootout against a mid-tier Seahawks defense. Seattle has allowed the 11th-most passing touchdowns and 14th-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, but the sixth-fewest rushing yards.

Caleb Williams Underwhelms In Monday Night Loss

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams completed 18-of-31 passes for 191 yards and one touchdown in Monday night's 30-12 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He added three yards on four carries and coughed up a fumble. The rookie QB looked like he was turning a corner for a few weeks but had another tough go against a stout Vikings defense. He failed to reach 200 passing yards for the second straight contest and couldn't get anything going in Week 15 despite a strong outing (340/2) in his last meeting with Minnesota. On the bright side, Williams has not tossed an interception since returning from the team's bye in Week 7 and recorded at least one touchdown for the fourth-straight game. The 23-year-old will get a Detroit Lions defense in Week 16 that is severely depleted due to injury, making it less scary of a test than it might have been earlier in the season. Additionally, he had one of his better performances against them back in Week 13.

De'Von Achane Remains An RB1 Despite Harsh Matchup Vs. Browns

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane looks to continue fantasy dominance in the championship week. The 23-year-old has been one of the most consistent running backs all season and is one of, if not the most essential piece in Miami's offense in 2024. Week 17 proposes a matchup with a Cleveland Browns defense that has been primarily stout against opposing running backs. They rank ninth in fantasy points, 12th in rushing yards, and third in receiving yards per game to the position. However, the conditions for this game are less than ideal, with a 50% chance of rain and projected wind gusts of 25+ mph at kickoff in Cleveland, Ohio. This should mean more opportunities for Achane to combat the harsh conditions. He should be started and considered a solid RB1 option, as usual. He comes in as the RB9 in the Week 16 RotoBaller rankings.

This is the sixth game in a row where Achane has eclipsed 14 PPR fantasy points. The 23-year-old was able to carry the offense on a day when moving the ball through the air was hard to come by. With Miami needing to win the next two games to have a shot at the playoffs, Achane will almost certainly be a big part of the game plan. Miami will travel to take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 17.

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane heads into Week 16 with five top 15 running back finishes in a row despite only averaging 36.8 rushing yards per contest. His receiving output and his knack for getting in the endzone have kept him a top-10 fantasy running back. He remains 34 receiving yards behind Alvin Kamara for the league lead by running backs. This week, he gets a matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, who struggle at allowing fantasy points to running backs. They rank 21st in fantasy points and 30th in rushing touchdowns allowed per game. The 23-year-old should look to see plenty of targets with the injuries Miami is dealing with at the receiver position this week. He is a must-start top 10 play and is the RB8 in the RotoBaller weekly rankings.

Herbert also added 28 yards on the ground on eight carries despite clearly not being 100% with his wrapped up ankle. Herbert completed passes to 10 different receivers and threw his touchdowns to Hassan Haskins and Derius Davis. The Chargers will have a little extra time to rest and heal and will take on the New England Patriots in Week 17.

Justin Herbert Ready To Go For Week 16

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has been removed from the injury report for Week 16 and is good to go for a Thursday Night Football game against the division-rival Denver Broncos. Despite an ankle injury that was clearly affecting his play in Week 15 and kept him limited in practice all week until Wednesday, Herbert will go into the game without an injury designation. He's been far less mobile due to the injury, but he still played well in terms of things he could control against Tampa Bay last week. The Broncos defense is tough against opposing quarterbacks, so Herbert's ceiling is limited by both his ankle and his opponent. Still, he'll likely need to lead the offense with his arm since the Bolts backfield hasn't done much of anything in the run game. Herbert is a safe QB2 option with some possible upside in what should be a close game.

CeeDee Lamb Ruled Out For Remainder Of The Season

According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. A source noted that the star wideout is not expected to undergo surgery but will go through a process for treatment. The 25-year-old has been dealing with this lingering shoulder injury for several weeks and will now set his sights on the 2025 season. Through 15 games, Lamb caught 101 passes for 1,194 yards and six scores. He added 70 rushing yards on 14 carries. He averaged 17.6 PPR points per game and saw his production drop slightly once Dak Prescott underwent season-ending hamstring surgery after Week 9. With the Cowboys out of the NFC playoff picture, they will opt to ensure their top playmaker is at full strength for the 2025 campaign. As a result, fantasy managers should expect Jake Ferguson, Brandin Cooks, and Jalen Tolbert to operate as the top pass catchers over the final two weeks of the season.

CeeDee Lamb Absent Again On Thursday

However, he continues to post big totals almost every week. He is up to 1,243 rushing yards on the year and 15 total touchdowns in his 15 games this season. Next week, he'll have a good matchup against the Cardinals at home on Saturday night.

Kyren Williams Draws A Tough Matchup In Week 16

With Los Angeles looking to make the playoffs, Williams and company will meet the Jets in Week 16. New York has allowed 23.2 points per contest this season, which isn't the most efficient mark in the National Football League. However, the Jets have surrendered only nine rushing touchdowns during the 2024-25 campaign, which isn't good news for Williams, who has relied heavily on his ability to find the end zone for most of his fantasy production.
