He found his wideout Terry McLaurin quite often for 125 yards and on an impressive 61-yard reception. Derrick Henry Remains A Must-Start In Week 9

Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry finished in RB2 territory in Week 8 after the offense was getting stifled by the Cleveland Browns and then had to play from behind. They take on another solid defense in the Denver Broncos in Week 9, but Henry remains an undeniable part of the offense and will get the opportunity to bounce back in a big way. Even with the down week, he still sits at RB1 in half-PPR leagues and averages 21.4 fantasy points per game. Fantasy managers should continue to start him each week.

Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry scored a late touchdown to continue his scoring streak and salvage his day for fantasy managers. This game looked bleak for the offense as a whole while they failed to convert on many third downs and the Browns got out to a second-half lead. Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry will step into his second AFC North matchup against the Cleveland Browns in Week 8. He has found the end zone in every game so far this year including two receiving touchdowns which ties a career-high for most in a season. Despite the fact that the Browns are ranked as the 25th-easiest matchup against opposing backfields, Henry has the ability and talent to remain a must-start. Especially since this doesn't seem to have the makings of a shootout-type of game with the injuries that the Browns have endured.

Joe Burrow Hoping To Rebound In Week 9

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow couldn't lift his squad to a win over the Philadelphia Eagles. With Cincinnati sitting at 3-5 on the season, the signal-caller will try to get the Bengals on track with a win over the Raiders on Sunday. Burrow had thrown at least two touchdowns in five of his seven appearances leading up to the meeting with Philly. But he was a step above mediocre in Week 8, ending the game by throwing for 234 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Fortunately, Burrow and company have an excellent chance of earning a win over the 2-6 Raiders, and the former LSU Tiger will have the luxury of facing a team that has allowed 26.3 points per game during the 2024-25 campaign, one of the worst marks in the National Football League. Although Burrow likely won't have Tee Higgins (quadriceps) or Zack Moss (neck), he'll still have Ja'Marr Chase, Chase Brown, and others to increase his odds of having a productive afternoon for fantasy managers.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow threw for 234 yards, one touchdown, and one interception off 26-for-37 passing in Sunday's meeting with the Eagles. He added three carries for 15 yards. The Bengals were without Tee Higgins (quadriceps), who had three touchdowns in the previous three games. However, the signal-caller still had an acceptable showing, although his efforts couldn't bring his team to .500. Hopefully, Higgins will be healthy enough to return for the Week 9 matchup with the visiting Las Vegas Raiders. Still, even if Higgins isn't back on the field, Burrow should remain a starting fantasy option.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow looks to lead his squad to a .500 record with a win over Philadelphia in Week 8. The signal-caller has been a quality fantasy quarterback in 2024-25. In the Bengals' seven games this season, he's thrown at least two or more touchdowns in five of those contests. Burrow has also completed 70.4% of his throws. Tee Higgins (quadriceps) is questionable for Sunday's contest. However, Burrow still has Ja'Marr Chase at his disposal. Andrei Iosivas, who had three touchdowns in the first three games of the season, should also have no issues filling the void if Higgins can't go. Keep Burrow starting in all fantasy formats versus Philly.

Geno Smith Can Be Viewed As High-End QB2 In Week 9

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith checks in as a player you can play in a pinch once again in Week 9. The Seahawks will host the Los Angeles Rams who are No. 15 against opposing quarterbacks in fantasy. This matchup is about as middle-of-the-pack as they come. Smith currently leads the NFL in passing yards. Unfortunately, we got a good look at life without wide receiver DK Metcalf (knee) in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills and it was not pretty. Smith was limited to 212 yards and an interception. The Seahawks actually moved the ball relatively well in the first half, but they fell apart in the second half. The Rams should have no problem scoring on the Seahawks defense so Seattle will likely need to put the ball in the air. The volume will be there for Smith, but the question is whether or not the Seahawks will be effective without Metcalf who is slated to miss his second straight game. For those reasons, Smith will be a QB2 with upside this week. However, he has a great chance to throw for over 300 yards and a couple of touchdowns if the offense has adjusted to life without Metcalf.

Geno Smith Finally Throws For Multiple Touchdown Passes

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith finally threw for more than one touchdown in a game in Sunday's win over the Atlanta Falcons. The Seahawks dominated this game from the second quarter on. Smith finished the game with 207 passing yards and two touchdowns. Most importantly, Smith avoided throwing interceptions after throwing five in his previous four games. The game was encouraging for fantasy managers. Smith had been a solid streaming option for much of the season, however, it felt like there were a lot of plays left on the field. Week 7 helped change that narrative as the Seahawks' offense and defense worked in conjunction on the way to a great win. Hopefully, Smith can keep this momentum rolling in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills.

Kirk Cousins A Solid Option At QB In Week 9 Versus The Cowboys

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 276 yards and four touchdowns last week against the Buccaneers and draws another favorable matchup in Week 9 versus the Cowboys who have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to the QB position. Atlanta typically leans pass-heavy, throwing almost 57% of the time, and with the Falcons as three-point home favorites with a relatively high expected total in this contest (48.5), it sets up for a good day for the 36-year-old signal-caller. Keep in mind, however, that outside of the two games against Tampa Bay, the veteran QB has posted only modest production in the six other contests, averaging 220 yards passing with a 6:6 TD:INT. Nevertheless, with 2x All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons still out and Dallas likely missing a couple of other key defensive pieces, Cousins projects as a low-end QB1 for Week 9.

Kirk Cousins Throws Four Touchdown Passes In Win

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins enjoyed another big day versus Tampa Bay, completing 23 of 29 passes for 276 yards and four touchdowns without throwing a pick. The 36-year-old signal-caller even chipped in 16 yards on three carries. The veteran QB probably wishes he could face the Buccaneers every week, now with 785 yards and an 8:1 TD:INT in two games versus their divisional foe. He'll finish the week as a top-five QB for fantasy, however, the 13-year pro has been fairly pedestrian otherwise, averaging 220 yards per game with a 6:6 TD:INT, those two games versus the Bucs notwithstanding. Cousins will get a somewhat favorable matchup in Week 9 against the Cowboys and figures to be a QB2 with QB1 upside again.

Kirk Cousins Looks To Bounce Back Against Tampa Bay

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins posted another lackluster performance in Week 7 despite facing an undermanned Seattle defense, finishing as QB23 for the week after throwing more interceptions (2) than touchdown passes (1) for the third time in seven games. Looking ahead to Week 8, the 36-year-old has a chance to get back on track against a Tampa Bay team that he faced in Week 5 and completed 42 of 58 pass attempts for 508 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. The Buccaneers have been vulnerable versus both the pass and the run this season, but are allowing 254.0 net pass YPG (fourth-worst) compared to 132.0 rush YPG (19th), and just yielded five touchdown passes to Lamar Jackson in Week 7. Without their top two receiving options, Tampa Bay could look to the ground game in this one, chewing up clock and limiting offensive opportunities for both teams more than they otherwise would have, so view the veteran quarterback as a volatile high end QB2 with QB1 upside in this matchup.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has a banged-up receiving core, making it hard to trust him in a difficult matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. However, with Christian Kirk out for the season and Brian Thomas Jr. and Gabe Davis potentially out, the only certain reliable option for Lawrence this week is Evan Engram. Even Travis Etienne Jr. and Tank Bigsby out of the backfield are questionable. The former top pick is coming off a 308-yard performance against the Green Bay Packers, but it is hard to imagine Lawrence improving on that performance with the surrounding uncertainty. Lawrence can be viewed as a solid QB2 with potential for more if all his weapons play in Week 9.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence had a good fantasy outing in a 30-27 loss to the Green Bay Packers. The former top pick finished with 21 completions on 32 attempts for 308 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a rushing touchdown, an interception, and a lost fumble. The Packers have been one of the top teams and passing defenses in the NFL this year, so this effort from Lawrence and the Jaguars should leave people optimistic about their season going forward. The offense has steadily improved as the season has gone on, especially now that top target Evan Engram has returned from injury and rookie Brian Thomas Jr. has developed. Lawrence did lose Christian Kirk for the season with a broken collarbone, but he still has great weapons to continue playing like he did against the Packers. Lawrence and the Jaguars take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9.

Lawrence has averaged just under 15 fantasy points per game this season, which should be his expected output against Jaire Alexander and the stout Packers secondary. Evan Engram, Brian Thomas Jr., and Christian Kirk have all been serviceable weapons for Lawrence and the Jaguars offense, but that hasn't translated to great fantasy success for the former top pick. While the Packers have been one of the top defenses against quarterbacks in fantasy, one reason fantasy managers can be optimistic is that the Chicago Bears have been even better against quarterbacks, who Lawrence put up a solid 17 fantasy points against in Week 6. In a tough Week 8 matchup, Lawrence should be considered a solid QB2 with limited upside.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley will take on the 2-6 Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9. The 27-year-old crossed the century mark in scrimmage yards gained for the sixth time in seven games last week during the Eagles' statement win over the Bengals but left fantasy managers wanting more with no touchdowns scored. He has the chance to rectify that this week against the Jaguars. Jacksonville allows the sixth-most fantasy points per game to running backs this year and struggles to keep offenses out of the red zone in general. Barkley has about the safest fantasy scoring floor in the league and that is no different this week. He should be considered a top-three option heading into the weekend.

Saquon Barkley Tallies 111 Yards In Win Over Bengals

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley took 22 carries for 108 yards and caught one of his three targets for a three-yard gain during the team's 37-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. After thrashing the Giants last week, the 27-year-old crossed the century mark in scrimmage yards for the second week in a row and for the sixth time in seven games played. The story here that is sure to frustrate fantasy managers is the three rushing touchdowns scored by quarterback Jalen Hurts. Two of these touchdowns were done via the brotherly shove while the other was a designed run for Hurts inside the 10. This was a fear heading into the season for Barkley, but he has been so productive in every other aspect that it has not caused fantasy managers many issues. The star back now faces a terrible Jacksonville defense that is reeling after a tough loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Saquon Barkley Looks To Stay On A Roll In Road Matchup With Bengals

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley will go on the road to take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8. The 27-year-old nearly broke his career rushing record in the team's win over his former team, the New York Giants, last week and ended the day with 187 total yards and a touchdown. With that revenge game behind him, Barkley looks to take on a Bengals defense that is much better at stopping the run than they are at stopping the pass. Quarterback Jalen Hurts only needed to throw 14 times last week, but do not expect the same run-heavy game script this week against the Bengals. Barkley is a set-it-and-forget-it RB1, but this game could see him being more involved as a receiver if the Eagles have to try and play catchup.

Jared Goff Primed For Efficiency Against Green Bay’s Secondary

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is positioned for a productive outing against the Green Bay Packers in Week 9. While Week 8 saw a modest 85 passing yards from Goff, Detroit's ground game was the primary scoring method. Over his last three games, Goff has demonstrated impressive efficiency, completing 80% of his passes for 680 yards, eight touchdowns, and zero interceptions, securing his status as a reliable QB1. The Packers' defense ranks 29th in blitz rate and allows one of the league's higher yards per completion, presenting an opportunity for Goff to connect on longer throws. Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson had a quiet day on the ground in Week 8 (13-63-0), but surprisingly led the team in targets and receptions with seven apiece, totaling 43 yards and a touchdown. The volume was the eye-opener, but Robinson has been involved in the passing game throughout the season, catching at least three passes in seven of Atlanta's eight games. Even so, Week 9's matchup with the Cowboys points to a return of success on the ground with Dallas giving up the second-most fantasy points to running backs with 12 TDs allowed via rush, second-worst only to Carolina (14). Being the lead back who is involved in both the run and pass game in a contest that has a high expected total on the fast track inside the dome against a poor rush defense all indicates that the 22-year-old will be a high-end RB1 on Sunday.

Bijan Robinson Reaches 100 Total Yards, Scores In Week 8 Win

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson had a productive day in Sunday's 31-26 win over the Buccaneers, carrying the ball 13 times for 63 yards while adding six catches for 37 yards and a score. The 22-year-old ceded 12 rush attempts to backfield mate Tyler Allgeier but was clearly the preferred option of the two in the passing game. It was the third consecutive game in which the second-year back recorded at least one TD and at least 100 total yards, producing like the fantasy asset he was drafted to be. With the Falcons offense clicking and the Cowboys defense struggling, having allowed 77 points over their last two games alone, Robinson and company look to have a favorable matchup again in Week 9.

Bijan Robinson A Mid-Range RB1 In Week 8

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson is coming off his biggest workload of the season so far (26 touches, 143 total yards) and the 22-year-old is averaging a solid 4.7 yards per rush through seven games. His Week 8 opponent, Tampa Bay, has been poor at stopping the run, yielding 5.3 yards per rush, which is third-worst in all of football. Despite this, teams have attacked Tampa Bay through the air, and in Week 5, Robinson totaled just 12 rush attempts against these same Buccaneers. Look for a slight uptick in workload since Kirk Cousins likely won't be throwing 58 passes this time around, and with at least three receptions in six of seven contests, the former first-round pick should be involved in the passing game regardless. Also keep in mind that running backs Derrick Henry and Justice Hill recorded touchdown receptions against the Bucs last week. With Tampa missing their top two receivers, this one has the look of a slower-paced contest which should keep the running backs busy, so trust Robinson as an RB1 again in Week 8, albeit a mid-range one.

Jahmyr Gibbs’ Big-Play Potential Makes Him A Must-Start In Week 9

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs offers intriguing upside in Week 9 as he faces the Green Bay Packers. Gibbs showcased his big-play ability last week with a 70-yard touchdown run, extending his streak of at least one 20-yard rush to six games. In his last three games, Gibbs has totaled 306 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 38 carries, along with 78 receiving yards on eight catches.
