Caleb Williams: Not scheduled to play Sunday
Friday, August 8, 2025 9:27 AM
Williams isn't scheduled to play in Sunday's preseason game against the Dolphins, per CHGO Sports.
This likely means most of Chicago's projected starters will be held out, although we figure to see them at least once this preseason as they continue learning coach Ben Johnson's playbook. With Williams held out, Tyson Bagent or Case Keenum figures to get the start Sunday.

Anthony Richardson: X-rays come back clean
Friday, August 8, 2025 9:11 AM
Richardson's X-rays on his dislocated finger came back clean Thursday night, and he's expected to return to practice "in the coming days," NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
Richardson was injured while taking a sack in the first quarter of Thursday's preseason opener against the Ravens. He was immediately removed and ruled out for the remainder of the exhibition, but it sounds like Richardson has avoided any serious issues. However, any missed practice time will allow Daniel Jones to soak up all of the reps with the first-team offense, as Jones and Richardson continue to battle for the starting job. Richardson has been one of the most injury-prone quarterbacks in the league since entering the NFL as the No. 4 overall pick of the 2023 Draft. Both Richardson and Jones are good bets to make multiple starts each in 2025.

Anthony Tyus: Generates 23 yards
Friday, August 8, 2025 8:29 AM
Tyus rushed six times for 23 yards in Thursday's 23-23 preseason tie versus the Raiders.
Tyus initially signed as an undrafted rookie with the Lions but was cut in July before joining the Seahawks. The Ohio product didn't play until the fourth quarter of Thursday's game. He looks like a longshot to make the 53-man roster with five other running backs ahead of him on the depth chart.

Jason Myers: Misses extra point Thursday
Friday, August 8, 2025 7:47 AM
Myers connected on a 48-yard field goal and made two of three extra-point tries in Thursday's 23-23 tie versus the Raiders.
Last season, Myers hit 86.7 percent of his field-goal attempts, ranking 12th in the league among kickers who played at least 10 games. He also finished 24th by making 92.5 percent of his extra-point tries. Myers has been a mostly steady starter for the Seahawks, and he still has plenty of leg at 34 years old, evidenced by a 59-yarder last season.

Ricky White: Makes one catch Thursday
Friday, August 8, 2025 7:38 AM
White (undisclosed) caught his lone target for 14 yards in Thursday's 23-23 preseason tie versus the Raiders.
A rookie seventh-round pick, White missed practice time during the week with an undisclosed injury, but he returned to action in the fourth quarter of Thursday's exhibition game, catching a short pass from fellow rookie Jalen Milroe. With rookie fifth-round pick Tory Horton on track for a roster spot, White is competing with Dareke Young and Cody White for a depth role in this offense.

Cody White: No catches in preseason opener
Friday, August 8, 2025 7:34 AM
White didn't catch either of his two targets in Thursday's 23-23 tie against the Raiders.
White started the first half with Drew Lock but was unable to haul in a pass all game. The 26-year-old wideout played four games with the Seahawks last season and caught two passes (three targets) for 44 yards. He's on the roster bubble this season and is primarily competing with fourth-year Dareke Young and rookie Ricky White.

Dareke Young: One long catch Thursday
Friday, August 8, 2025 7:30 AM
Young caught one of three targets for 31 yards in Thursday's 23-23 tie against the Raiders.
Young tied with rookie Tory Horton for a team high in yardage, although Horton was targeted seven times and scored. Heading into the final year of his rookie contract Young is battling for a depth roster spot and Horton's emergence in training camp slims those odds. However, Young has consistently reeled in deep balls during training camp, and his willingness to work on special teams could help him land one of the final spots.

Jacardia Wright: Scores in preseason tie
Friday, August 8, 2025 7:25 AM
Wright rushed seven times for 34 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 23-23 preseason tie versus the Raiders.
Wright started the second half and immediately broke off an 11-yard carry. He put forth another 10-yard carry in the fourth quarter before punching in a touchdown from the one-yard line. Meanwhile, George Holani was the clear top running back in Thursday's game, finishing with 81 yards on eight touches. Damien Martinez -- who played only in the first half -- rushed six times for 10 yards and caught two passes for 15 yards. Holani is the leader for the No. 3 job behind Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet, so Wright likely needs to compete with Martinez for the No. 4 role.

Damien Martinez: Outplayed by Holani
Friday, August 8, 2025 1:35 AM
Martinez rushed six times for 10 yards and caught both of his targets for 15 yards in Thursday's 23-23 preseason tie against the Raiders. He also totaled 25 yards on two kickoff returns.
Martinez was the second running back into the game after George Holani, who had 81 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on eight touches. Holani has the early lead in the competition for the third spot on Seattle's running back depth chart behind Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet, and the gap between him and Martinez likely grew Thursday. Martinez will try to make up some ground in the next preseason game against the Chiefs on Aug. 15.

George Holani: Strengthens case for roster spot
Friday, August 8, 2025 1:34 AM
Holani rushed seven times for 61 yards and a touchdown while catching his only target for 20 yards in Thursday's 23-23 preseason tie against the Raiders.
Holani made the most of his opportunity as the starter Thursday with the Seahawks resting numerous key offensive contributors, including running backs Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet. Holani's production came in just two drives of action, the second of which he capped with a 24-yard rushing touchdown. The second-year pro seems to have the early edge in the competition for the third spot on the depth chart over rookie seventh-round pick Damien Martinez, who mustered only 25 scrimmage yards on eight touches Thursday. Holani will look to keep building momentum in Seattle's second preseason game, Aug. 15 against the Chiefs.
