FFPC Side Action Has Arrived

Get in on Some Side Action Now

Some of you have already reached out to us, and many more of you have also undoubtedly noticed the “Side Action” button next to some of the other teams in your league and on contest leaderboards. But what is Side Action, really?

The FFPC Side Action contest is designed to supplement your existing season-long teams to increase fantasy football excitement during the NFL season.

In Side Action contests, you can use your existing fantasy teams in one-week head-to-head contests to compete against other existing teams for cash prizes. No additional draft or roster creation is required to participate in Side Action. The Side Action winner is the higher scoring fantasy team for that week, as per FFPC scoring rules. Side Action will act as a separate weekly contest from the original leagues that you’re competing in, and Side Action results will obviously have no effect on your original league results.

With our initial rollout, Side Action involves two teams for each contest, but we plan to allow for more teams to be able to compete in a future Side Action contests.

Entry fees range from $10 to $1,000, with $11 price intervals. Payouts are as follows:

Side Action is initialized by you or another FFPC player by inviting another participant to accept and join his invitation to compete. The owner on the receiving end of the invitation offer may accept, decline or send a counter offer. You also have the right to cancel the Side Action at any point before the official start of the contest.

Winner of each Side Action contest will have the prize amount deposited into their account when statistical corrections and scores are finalized for that particular week.

Roster lock for Side Action purposes is the same as that used for the original league/contest. As an example, just like any FFPC season-long weekly roster lock, any player can be moved in and out of a lineup until their NFL game has begun. Once an NFL game begins, all players in that game are locked into fantasy lineups.

Your Side Action contest lineup will always be the same lineup used by the participant in his original league/contest. There are no additional modifications to the lineup allowed or required for the purposes of Side Action. It must be the same.

If you have any questions players, hit me back here or email support@myffpc.com. Now get those lineups set for some Side Action!

Sincerely,

Eric Balkman

Dropped Players To Lock

QBs, RBs, WRs and TEs which are cut starting from Week 10, Week 11 and Week 12 free agent bidding processes will be REMOVED from the free agent pool and may not be re-acquired by any team for the remainder of the season. Dropped defenses and kickers will still be available for acquisition. This is done to minimize the possibility of potential collusion.

And as a reminder, even if injuries or other issues derailed your 2018 season, make sure you are still setting your lineups! Please don’t anger the fantasy gods, and keep karma on your side for 2018 by being competitive this weekend the rest of the season. 🙂

Haupt Atop Off-The-Grid Competition

Mahomes and Josh Gordon’s 24 helped Ed Haupt stay in first place after nine weeks of action in the 2018 FFPC Off-The-Grid League. The tally gives Haupt 27 victory points and 1383.45 points on the season, both good for tops in the league. In addition to the weekly prizes in this format, the overall champion of this 12-team league will take home a $10,000 grand prize.

Saluting Our Veterans

On behalf of Dave, Alex, Chris and Mike, a big thank you goes out to all of our veterans out there from the FFPC. No matter if you’re still in active duty or retired from the service, we appreciate everything you’ve done for this country and us so that we can enjoy playing fantasy football and our lives in general.

I encourage all of you to take a few minutes out of your Sunday to shake a vet’s hand and tell him or her how thankful you are for the sacrifices they have made in their lives. Thanks again!

Side Action Is Coming!

Maybe you’ve already noticed the “Side Action” button next to the other teams playing in the FFPC beside you. We’ll have a separate email coming on this very shortly explaining what it is and how you can maximize your FFPC fantasy enjoyment each week. More to follow, players! 🙂

Michigan Players Take Note; New Leaders in National Contests

Attention Michigan Players

And Anyone Who Wants To Pretend They’re From Michigan

Before we get into this week’s update, once again, we are asking for your help in keeping Michigan residents eligible to keep enjoying the hobby they love. We encourage all of you Michigan residents to call Representative Brandt Iden now to let him know that his bill HB6420 will crush fantasy sports small business in his state.

Please be very respectful and polite, but also let Rep. Iden know that the fee structure along with the proposed audits will effectively end your ability to enjoy FFPC leagues going forward. Tell him that this bill will drive season-long fantasy sports small businesses from the state leaving only two giant DFS corporations: DraftKings and FanDuel. Make sure he knows that his fee structure is not fair to the three dozen companies that operate in his state, Currently their revenue combined is less than 10 percent of what DraftKings and Fanduel are taking in.

Do not email him.
Please call and request a sit-down meeting or call with Rep. Iden.
His phone number is below:

Big Payback Leaders Through Week 4

Over in the $5,000 entry Big Payback leagues, we have the Working Stiffs, owned by Miyagi Dojo, leading Big Payback #1 so far. In addition to Kamara, the Stiffs enjoyed nice scores from Patrick Mahomes (25.9), Sterling Shepard (25.7) and Travis Kelce (24.3) to take control of the league.

Todd Bargstadt’s Killer B’s are leading the way over in Big Pyabck #2 thanks in part to a 176.4 in Week 4. It was Mitchell Trubisky’s 47, the Packers’ defense and Saquon Barkley’s 22 that helped him to a win and first place in the league.

And in Big Payback #3, it’s Kimra Schleicher’s Grand Theft that sits atop the other 11 owners at the quarter pole of the NFL season. Matt Ryan (33.45), Amari Cooper (26.8), Shepard, Todd Gurley (25.6), and Calvin Ridley (21.5) spurred her to a 191.75 score that has her in first place going forward.

Bibo on Top of Off-the-Grid Contest

It was Thomas, Christian McCaffrey’s 21.4 and Matthew Stafford’s 21.1 that led Dave Bibo’s No White Flags to a 0.75-point victory over Alex Bulazo’s Spearmint Rhinos in Week 3. Bibo used his 142.8 points to ascend to the top of the leaderboard with the highest-scoring team in the 2018 FFPC Off-The-Grid League.

The draft for this league was held at our live events at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, and each of the 12 teams used real cash to purchase their first two draft slots in this format with bidding routinely topping more than $1,000 each for several of the picks. In addition to the weekly prizes in this competition, the overall champion of this 12-team league will take home a $10,000 grand prize.

Schroeder & Weinhauer Lead Varsities

Thanks to a big 172.6 in Week 2, Chad Schroeder’s Cocktails & Dreams sits above the other 11 owners in the $3,000 Varsity #1 league after two weeks. Ben Roethlisberger (43.5), Adam Thielen (31.1), Mike Evans (24.3) and Chris Thompson (22.3) did the heavy lifting for Schroeder this past weekend. Over in Varsity #2, Troy’s Boys–owned by Larry Weinhauer–holds the overall lead in part because of a 185.2 in Week 2. Stefon Diggs’ 35.9, and Todd Gurley’s 32.3 led the way with Deshaun Watson’s 26.9, Brandin Cooks’ 22.9 and Hill contributing as well.

Both of these leagues’ drafts were held at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas during the FFPC Live Events. The winners of each of these total points leagues will pocket separate $20,000 first place prizes for their efforts.

Good luck in your bids tonight players, and I’ll see you in the chat room Friday night!

2018 Live Events Recap

Things got rolling early on Thursday morning last week with our first Varsity and live Super Bracket leagues before moving onto the Main Events and Off-The-Grid drafts in the afternoon. Then it was off to the Viewing Party for the Falcons and Eagles.

Friday not only featured Main Event drafts all day, but plenty of auctions, Draft Experts and Big Payback leagues, too. We finished up on Saturday with some Main Event drafts and capped it with our second Varsity draft and our $10,000 High Society league.

Big props go to Planet Hollywood for the fantastic spreads they served to all of our live players during all of the drafts. And special thanks go to Alex, Sam and all who helped facilitate, register and organize the weekend’s festivities. A HUGE thank you to Chris for coordinating everything as well!

It was awesome to meet many of you for the first time and catch up with a lot of you that I had met before. Probably my favorite thing about our live events each year is those interactions I can have with you in between drafts and at the Viewing Party. Good luck to each of you this year!

Don’t forget to place your waiver bids tonight and enjoy Week 2, players!

Sincerely,

Eric Balkman
