His 39 pass attempts were his most this season, eclipsing his previous high of 28 in Week 1, but Mahomes was far less efficient as this was his lowest completion percentage of the year. The loss of Isiah Pacheco out of the backfield will take time to adjust to, but Mahomes will get a chance to turn it around against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4. The divisional rival Chargers have been above average against the pass, with the 13th-fewest passing yards allowed, but they have been more stingy against the run. Mahomes must improve his passing efficiency to extend the Kansas City winning streak to four games. The Chiefs quarterback has been lackluster so far, so he may be a mid-to-backend QB1 instead of the top-end option he was drafted to be.

The Falcons offense appeared to figure some things out on their game-winning drive and will look to build on that momentum in this matchup. The Chiefs defense has also been relatively lackluster compared to their high expectations, so this could be a high-scoring affair. Mahomes has been disappointing at the start of the season, but the injury to Pacheco could pave the way for a shift in offensive play-calling. Start Mahomes with confidence in their Week 3 contest at Atlanta.

It was a disappointing performance from Mahomes, who passed for under 200 yards for just the ninth time in his career. Despite having field-stretching playmakers, Kansas City could not find a rhythm on offense in this contest. Mahomes will look to improve his output next week on the road against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in 2023, so Mahomes should have no issues dicing up the Atlanta secondary. Despite being a disappointing starter in fantasy, it will be difficult to bench an MVP-caliber quarterback like Mahomes. Mahomes will still land within the QB1 conversation until proven otherwise.

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard heads to Miami to face the Dolphins in a Week 4 primetime matchup. After two strong weeks to start the season Pollard took a major step back last week with only 4.4 points in half-PPR scoring. The positives were that he still drew four targets, and managed to out-rush his backfield mate Tyjae Spears for the third consecutive week. With Levis' struggles at the helm of this offense, the Titans may opt to lean on their dynamic RB duo more often, and this coming week against a porous rush defense that just let James Cook go hog-wild, Pollard remains a strong play.

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard ran six times for 14 yards, adding three receptions for 15 yards in a loss to Green Bay. It was a putrid fantasy day for the former Cowboy, who was looking like a great value in the later rounds of drafts after being featured heavily in Weeks 1-2. Game script definitely played a huge part in the low volume for Pollard, as the Titans went down very early and were forced to rely on the arm of quarterback Will Levis, which did not get them very far. Green Bay had been weak against the run coming into this game, but completely dominated the Titans up front, which did not bode well for Pollard. He will look to bounce back in Week 4 vs. Miami.

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard faces the Green Bay Packers in Week 3. While the Titans' coaching staff keeps implying that Tyjae Spears will get more touches, Pollard continues to dominate the backfield work for Tennessee. The former Cowboy has received 25 more touches than Spears through two weeks and has also been more efficient with these opportunities. With Spears potentially sitting out or at the very least limited with an ankle injury this week, Pollard is an absolute smash play that should see a ton of volume against a run defense that has been gashed in both games to start the year. Fantasy managers should start Pollard with confidence this week.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk once again disappointed in a 27-24 loss to the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on Sunday. His final line amounted to five catches of 10 targets for 48 yards and no touchdowns. While technically an improvement from last week -- which was itself an improvement from Week 1 -- today's game had to sting for fantasy managers. Aiyuk's inefficiency juxtaposed with backup wideout Jauan Jennings' capture of all three receiving categories was frustrating, especially since we're almost a month removed from Aiyuk starting team workouts after a lengthy holdout. It's worth noting that Aiyuk's fantasy day -; and the 49ers' -; could have ended very differently had quarterback Brock Purdy seen him streaking down the middle wide-open behind the Rams' secondary in San Francisco's penultimate drive. Aiyuk's frustration was apparent when he was involved in a scuffle after San Francisco's last-gasp lateral play bounced off his hands near the Rams' sideline. There are no indications that any disciplinary action will follow. Perhaps Aiyuk will have renewed fire when the 49ers host the New England Patriots in Week 4.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is in Los Angeles to face the Rams in the team's first divisional matchup of 2024 on Sunday. Predictably, Aiyuk has yet to offer much to fantasy managers in the early going after choosing to sit out virtually the entire preseason. In Week 2 in Minnesota, the former first-rounder caught four of five targets for 43 yards, which was an improvement from Week 1's two-for-five, 28-yard performance versus the Jets. He has yet to score a touchdown. San Francisco is going to need him in LA though, as Deebo Samuel (calf) has been ruled out and George Kittle (hamstring) is doubtful. This game is as good as any for Aiyuk to get it going, with the Rams being shredded by rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. last week for 29 half-PPR points. The stars seem to have aligned for Aiyuk to make his first splash this season, with the matchup and likely heavy target share intersecting with another week of rust being shaken off. Start him this week as a low/mid WR1.

With San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. (calf) set to miss a couple of weeks with a calf strain, Brandon Aiyuk is now set up to serve as the team's WR1 heading into a divisional matchup in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams. Aiyuk played only 60% of the offensive snaps in the Week 1 win over the New York Jets after a lengthy contract hold-in during training camp this summer. He played 87% of the snaps in the Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, but through two games, Aiyuk has been a fantasy disappointment with six catches on 10 targets for 71 yards and no scores. Despite the poor start, fantasy managers need to keep the 26-year-old locked into starting lineups for Week 3 with Samuel sidelined. In addition to Aiyuk being more involved, receiver Jauan Jennings should operate as the WR2, while tight end George Kittle will also have a safer target floor for as long as Samuel is out.

Coming off an excellent performance against the Raiders, Carolina Panthers Andy Dalton looks like a good play in Week 4 against Cincinnati. Dalton's former team, the Bengals, just gave up a big quarterback performance to Jayden Daniels of the Commanders. Dalton was 26-of-37 passing for 319 yards and three touchdowns in his Week 3 start after taking over for Bryce Young. He will be without one of his top weapons in Adam Thielen (hamstring) who was placed on IR. Still, Diontae Johnson, Xavier Legette, and Jonathan Mingo should be able to pick up the slack in a favorable matchup. The Red Rifle popped up on the Panthers' first injury report of the week with an ankle issue but was listed as a full participant on Wednesday. Dalton looks like a potential starting fantasy quarterback this week depending on roster construction at the position. He finished as the QB6 in Week 3 and a similar performance this week is not out of the question.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton (ankle) appeared on the team's injury report Wednesday but was a full participant in practice. It's unclear when the 36-year-old sustained the injury, but Panthers fans can breathe a sigh of relief as it does not appear to be serious. The long-time Bengal lit it up in his first regular-season action since Week 3 of 2023, becoming the first signal-caller this season to rack up 300 yards (319) and toss three touchdowns in a single outing. It was a vintage performance from the Red Rifle, leading Carolina to its first victory of 2024 and first win since Week 15 of last season. The Panthers will host the 0-3 Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4, and Dalton has worked his way into streaming consideration ahead of this matchup after his dominant performance. The "revenge game" narrative only makes this contest more exciting. He'll be a QB2 with upside.

Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales reiterated that veteran quarterback Andy Dalton is the starting QB after he led the team to their first win of the season over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3 on Sunday. "Andy's our quarterback. He gives us our best chance to win," Canales said. Carolina decided to bench Bryce Young, the first overall pick in 2023, after two disastrous outings to begin his sophomore campaign. Dalton proceeded to go 26-for-37 for 319 yards with three touchdowns and no interception in a surprising 36-22 win over Vegas. The Red Rifle instantly made the Panthers' offense better in his first start of the year, and while Young is expected to start again at some point in 2024, this is Dalton's show for now. QB-needy fantasy managers in superflex leagues could do worse than Dalton in a pinch heading into Carolina's Week 4 meeting against his former team, the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy managers who selected Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn deep into their drafts have seen an outstanding return on investment so far. The ninth-year pro, whom Houston rewarded with a contract extension before this season, has made six field goals of 50 or more yards and ranks third among fantasy kickers. Given that Fairbairn is tied to one of the league's better offenses, is indoors for a fourth straight game, and plays the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars' defense in Week 4, he's a set-it-and-forget-it option at kicker this week.

Purdy came out of the Week 3 loss to the division-rival Los Angeles Rams with some minor back soreness on Monday, but he appears to be just fine and should be in the clear to start this weekend for a Week 4 matchup against the New England Patriots. The 24-year-old signal-caller displayed why he should be seen as a high-floor fantasy QB after throwing for 292 yards and three touchdowns in the loss to the Rams while being without running back Christian McCaffrey (Achilles, calf), receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. (calf) and tight end George Kittle (hamstring), arguably his top three targets. Purdy could be without all three for a second straight week against an underrated Pats defense. Consider him a low-end QB1/high-end QB2 in Week 4.

If Purdy plays in Week 4, he'll be more attractive as a QB1 in fantasy if one/both of Samuel or Kittle can return.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy had his best fantasy day of the young season in a 27-24 loss to the Rams in Los Angeles on Sunday. He finished with 22 completions of 30 attempts for 292 yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions, and one fumble lost. Purdy also took 10 rushing attempts for 41 yards. San Francisco led the entire game -; save for the last two seconds -; largely propelled by Purdy's connection with receiver Jauan Jennings who caught all three of Purdy's touchdown passes and was his favorite and most productive target. The former seventh-rounder could have done even more for his team and fantasy managers but failed to see a wide-open Brandon Aiyuk streaking down the middle past the Rams' secondary in San Francisco's penultimate drive. Purdy and the Niners have a Week 4 home matchup against the New England Patriots next Sunday.

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (knee) missed Wednesday's practice with a knee injury, but he's back on the field on Thursday leading up to a Week 4 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders. Needless to say, his return is promising for his chances to suit up on Sunday for the AFC clash. Ford is averaging 10.4 half-PPR fantasy points per game this year, but his last two contests were unproductive. However, the Raiders have surrendered the third-most rushing yards to running backs (398) and the second-most fantasy points per game (29.1) to the position. Assuming Ford is active, he could be in a perfect bounce-back spot. Ford should continue to operate as the lead back, at least until Nick Chubb (knee) returns to action. It will likely be a committee when the aging back returns.UPDATE: Ford was officially limited on Thursday.

Cleveland Browns running backs Jerome Ford (knee) and Pierre Strong Jr. (hamstring) are both expected to miss the first practice of the week on Wednesday. It's unclear right now if Ford's knee injury is serious enough to potentially keep him from playing in Week 4 against the Las Vegas Raiders or if they're just giving him a day of rest. The 25-year-old had 10 carries for 37 yards and also caught three passes for 33 yards in the Week 3 loss to the New York Giants. We'll have a better idea of Ford's status for Sunday's contest on Thursday, but this is definitely a situation to watch going forward. If Ford is indeed in danger of missing the Week 4 game, D'Onta Foreman would become a popular waiver-wire pickup for fantasy managers hurting at the position early in the year. In the Week 2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Foreman had 14 carries for 42 yards.

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford carried the ball 10 times for 37 yards and caught three of his four targets for 33 yards in a 21-15 loss to the New York Giants in Week 3. Ford wound up leading the Browns in carries and rushing yards while finishing second on the team in receiving in the close loss. Meanwhile, teammate D'Onta Foreman only saw two carries for five yards in the contest. The Cleveland backfield has been tough to predict through three weeks with Ford leading the way in Weeks 1 and 3 while D'Onta Foreman took the majority of the workload in Week 2. Ford will remain involved, especially in the passing game, heading into a road matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (concussion) will not play this Sunday due to a concussion. The 25-year-old took a hard helmet-to-helmet hit during last weekend's game and will need at least another week to recover from his injury. However, fantasy managers could expect the Alabama product to potentially return in his next game in Week 6 as the Eagles are off next weekend. This weekend, Jahan Dotson and Johnny Wilson should continue to see an increased role in this offense, while No.1 wideout A.J. Brown (hamstring) remains questionable for Sunday's game. Smith has performed very well in the revamped Kellen Moore passing attack this season, averaging 17.0 PPR points per game.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (concussion) was not seen at the portion of Friday's practice open to the media. Smith also didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday, so he's trending towards being ruled out for the Week 4 contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday after suffering a concussion on a cheap shot in the Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints. Fantasy managers will want to check back for the 25-year-old's official status later in the day, but there's a good chance they won't have him available this weekend. A.J. Brown (hamstring) returned to practice on Friday after missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but it's still unknown if he'll play against Tampa. If both Brown and Smith are unable to go, tight end Dallas Goedert could be in line for another monster game.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receivers DeVonta Smith (concussion) and A.J. Brown (hamstring) are both absent from practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday's session with a concussion and hamstring injury, respectively. It's not looking for the star wide receiver duo heading into the Week 4 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, fantasy managers should monitor their practice statuses on Friday and see how the team officially lists them for Sunday. If both are out, young wideouts Jahan Dotson and Johnny Wilson figure to be in elevated roles, but tight end Dallas Goedert should be the No. 1 option in the passing attack.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Gabe Davis (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant in the first practice of the week on Wednesday. Davis is dealing with what seems to be a minor shoulder injury after he played 76% of the offensive snaps in the team's Week 3 blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. Unless he has a setback with his shoulder in practice later this week, he should be active for the Week 4 tilt against the division-rival Houston Texans. The 25-year-old former fourth-round pick by the Bills in 2020 out of Central Florida has been inefficient so far through three games in his first year in Jacksonville. Davis has caught just half of his 16 targets for 123 yards and currently carries a career-low 15.4 yards per catch in what has been a Jaguars offense that just hasn't figure it out yet. He caught two of six targets for a season-low 18 yards on Monday night.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Gabe Davis (shoulder) is considered day-to-day with a shoulder injury, according to head coach Doug Pederson. The former Buffalo Bill has seen 16 targets through his first three games with the Jaguars and has racked up 123 yards on eight receptions. His shoulder injury was not evident on Monday Night in the loss to Buffalo, but it doesn't sound as if the ailment is considered long-term. Either way, based on what we've seen thus far, he has limited upside as a part of a struggling offense led by Trevor Lawrence. Davis can continue to be stashed in deep leagues, but he's likely not worth rostering in traditional 10 or 12-team setups. Like when he was in Buffalo, he's mostly a touchdown-or-bust flex option in deep formats.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Gabe Davis saw six targets against the Buffalo Bills on Monday night but could only turn those into two catches for 18 yards. Christian Kirk and Brian Thomas, Jr., saw most of the targets for the Jaguars as they were routed by the Bills in Buffalo. Davis was unable to get loose against his former team in this one. Even at his most productive in Buffalo, Davis was a boom-or-bust fantasy option. The big-play threat has yet to break free for a long catch from Trevor Lawrence this season. With Kirk and Thomas ahead of him on the receiving pecking order and tight end Evan Engram (hamstring) likely to take targets away from him upon his return, Davis is best left on the waiver wire.
