Metter & Cobb Make It 4 in a Row

Metter’s 140.95 Keeps Him in First

Winner Winner Continues To Lead Main Event by 24.75

With just one week to go in the regular season portion of the 2017 FFPC Main Event, 2010 Main Event champ Don Metter remains the class of the competition, averaging more than 160 points per week. It was Mark Ingram’s 31.1 and Eli Manning’s 21.65 that helped him stay atop everyone else in Week 10. Monty Phan’s Straight Outta Whatcom shot up four places to be the closest team in the field to Metter right now.

Eric Randall probably is not as upset about his draft time anymore as his “I guess we are stuck drafting on Thursday at 12:30” ascended 14 spots to third with Bo Berman’s Esquires flipping spots with Joe Stutesman’s Who Wants IV? squad to complete the top five.

Week 10 Big Payback Leagues Update

Jeff Tirabassi’s Cornfins squad now leads the Big Payback #1 as we head to Week 11 of the season. His 27 victory points and 1380.85 points were shaped by Kamara, Jimmy Graham (23.7), Marcus Mariota (21.3) and Davante Admas (20) over the weekend.

Over in Big Payback #2, Chad Schroeder’s Cocktails and Dreams continue to stay ahead of everyone else with 31 victory points and 1486.35 points on the season. Adam Thielen’s 30.6, Kamara, Wilson and Larry Fitzgerald’s 21.3 led the way for the former Main Event champ.

Blake Bohn and Aalok Arora also remained in first place in Big Payback #3. Thanks to Wilson, Golden Tate (21.7) and McCaffrey’s performances in Week 10, the duo has tallied 29 victory points and 1362.65 points for the year. Each champion in these three 12-team leagues will pocket $25,000 at the end of the year.

Finally! Week 11 Completes Bye Weeks

I hope you’re as thrilled as I am that we no longer have to worry about bye weeks for the remainder of the season after this weekend. Here are the teams that are out of action in Week 11. This completes your bye week issues for 2017:

  • Carolina
  • Indianapolis
  • New York Jets
  • San Francisco

And for a look at last week’s waiver wire results, check out the stats at the link to the Fantasy Mojo site below:

Regular Season Ends This Monday

One of the most important weeks of the season is upon us, as the FFPC Main Event and the FPC hold our final regular season games. Remember, the playoff seeds are determined by the following criteria:

  1. The team with the best record
  2. The remaining team with the highest point total
  3. The remaining team with the best record
  4. The remaining team with the highest point total

As you can see, points are huge this week. Teams with losing records could make the playoffs if they score enough points, so make sure you are finishing out your season strong. If you look at both contests, there are still a lot of teams in contention for a playoff spot heading into Week 11. And even if your squad doesn’t move on to the playoffs, you will start accruing points for the Toilet Bowl competition beginning in Week 12.

As a reminder, you can see the Playoff bracket by clicking on the PLAYOFF tab on the league home page, next to the STANDINGS tab.

Dropped Players Are Locked

As a reminder, QBs, RBs, WRs and TEs which are cut during Week 10, Week 11 and Week 12 free agent bidding processes will be REMOVED from the free agent pool and may not be re-acquired by any team for the remainder of the season. Dropped defenses and kickers will still be available for acquisition. This is done to minimize the possibility of potential collusion.

And as a reminder, even if injuries or other issues derailed your 2017 season, make sure you are still setting your lineups! Please don’t anger the fantasy gods, and keep karma on your side for 2018 by being competitive this weekend the rest of the season. 🙂

Based on your lineup decisions this week, you could find yourself battling to get into your league title game in Week 12 or fending off competition in the Toilet Bowl. Make sure you are getting your guys started this week as this is the most crucial weekend so far in 2017.

Good luck in your bids tonight players, and I’ll see you in the chat room Friday night!

Sincerely,

Eric Balkman

Thank You, Veterans!

On behalf of Dave, Alex and Chris, a big thank you goes out to all of our veterans out there from the FFPC. No matter if you’re still in active duty or retired from the service, we appreciate everything you’ve done for this country and us so that we can enjoy playing fantasy football and our lives in general.

I encourage all of you to take a few minutes out of your Saturday to shake a vet’s hand and tell him or her how thankful you are for the sacrifices they have made in their lives. Thanks again!

Schroeder & Brown Lead Varsity

After eight weeks of action, Chad Schroeder and Brody Brown have taken over the leads in each Varsity League we have this season.

Over in Varsity League #1, Schroeder’s Cocktails and Dreams is holding a 17-point lead over second-place Left or Right? I forgot, owned by Todd Range and Richard Moore. Schroeder’s 165.8 Week 8 score makes his season-long tally 1,134. His lineup was led by Russell Wilson (40.6) and Travis Kelce (29.8).

In Varsity #2, Brown’s Das Coffee entry was able to tally a 139.85 this past week thanks to Jamison Crowder’s 22.5 and Harrison Butker’s 21.8. Brown’s squad has scored 1,111 points on the season, good enough to hold an 18-point lead over Larry Weinhauer’s Troy’s Boys team. The first place winner in each of these total points leagues will cash a $20,000 prize.

Lee Continues to Lead Pros Vs. Joes

Branon Marianne Lee’s 181.4 kept the HerFantasyFootball.com entry atop the 2017 Pros Vs. Joes competition again. In Week 7, she had Kenny Stills (26.5), Gurley, Ertz, Jarvis Landry (22.3) and Blake Bortles (21.6) all help her keep a 23.9-point lead over fellow Joe, JJ Zachariason from Numberfire. Jeff Howle is leading the way for the FFPC Joes as he sits in third with another Joe Don Lacknett behind him in fourth. Completing the top five is Rotoviz’s Mike Beers after seven weeks of play.

Joining Lee, Zachariason, Howle and Beers as division leaders are DraftSharks.com’s Jared Smola and FFPC Joe Shelby Stewart. Each one of the division winners will take home a free 2018 FFPC Main Event team at season’s end.

His Squad Maintains 10.15-point Lead in Main Event

Baer/Puskarich Take Over FPC

Often times, it only takes one big week to shoot yourself up the leaderboard in the 2017 Footballguys Players Championship. And while Matthew Puskarich (right) and Randy Baer (left) have been doing well all season, it was their 214.5 score from this week that vaulted them from 35th place all the way to first. Thanks to Fournette, Carson Wentz (31.3), the Jacksonville defense (29), Ed Dickson (25), Harrison Butker (23.2), Zach Ertz (21.1) and Will Fuller (20.2), their UMNRaider squad now holds a slim 0.15-point lead over last week’s leader Dallas Grimes. You can hear Puskarich talk about his team and more on a special episode of the HSFF Hour TONIGHT!

Adam Grossman’s Atom Bombs moved up to third place this week with Michael Cobb’s Boss Savage!! ascending to fourth. Larry Erlichman’s AP15 falls to fifth after five weeks of play to complete this week’s top-5 spots.

Dynasty IR Function Updated

Dynasty players, please take note that the IR capability in your leagues has changed. Thanks to the new automatic injured reserve enforcement feature for our dynasty leagues, a player’s IR status will be listed per Sportradar, the official stat provider of the NFL.

Only players with the official IR designation will be able to be moved to IR status. This way, no one in any of our leagues will be able to take advantage of IR-ing a player before his own NFL team does.If you have any further questions about this, feel free to email our dynasty commissioner Dave Gerczak.

Set Your Future Lineups Now

More news this week from us on managing your lineups better. You can now edit future lineups from one page in your FFPC leagues! Set those lineups in advance and make sure you are ready to go in case you can’t get to them in time before kickoff of weeks in the future. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Also, for any of you who are wondering about J.D. McKissic’s position this week, he will remain a wide receiver for the remainder of the season in accordance with FFPC rules. This was the same application that Ty Montgomery received last year as well. The FFPC does not change or add positional eligibility in the middle of the year so that a level playing field is in place for the entire drafting and fantasy seasons for all players.

Good luck in your bids tonight players, and I’ll see you in the chat room Friday night!

Sincerely,

Eric Balkman

Modaff& Zoretic Top Off-the-Grid

For the second straight week, Tom Brady led a high-stakes league team to the lead in the contest. This week, it was John Modaff’s and Tom Zoretic’s CHI-TOWN entry in the Off-The-Grid competition. Thanks to Brady’s 41.5, Jordan Howard’s 33.40, Hunt and Prater, CHI-TOWN notched a 171.9 in Week 3, which gives them 477.9 on the season. In addition to the weekly prizes in this format, the overall champion of this 12-team league will take home a $10,000 grand prize.

FPC Leader, Grossman & Sousa on Pods

On Thursday morning, remember to check out Rotoviz Radio‘s The High-Stakes Lowdown podcast with Nelson Sousa taking Evan Engram and FAAB budget management and the fourth place team in the FPC Adam Grossman discussing Zero-RB and Stefon Digg’s rise.

You can check out a new episode of The High-Stakes Lowdown every Thursday on Rotoviz.comRotoviz Radio’s BlogTalkRadio channel or iTunes. I’d also encourage you to check out all of the other great podcasts that Rotoviz Radio has to offer including Fantasyland, a show that has already featured many FFPC players as well.

After three weeks of play in the 2017 Footballguys Players Championship, Dallas Grimes finds himself sitting in the driver’s seat for the $250,000 grand prize. Dave Gerczak and I quiz him on why he drafted six tight ends, including three in the first six rounds. Plus Grimes gives his thoughts on what he sees happening with both the Washington and Cincinnati offenses going forward.

The High Stakes Fantasy Football Hour normally airs Friday nights at 10/9c. You can always catch the replay of our show on the Fantasy Sports Radio Network as well as terrestrial radio stations all over North America in syndication. Plus, on-demand streaming is available for listening anytime via iTunesYouTubeGoogle PlayStitcher RadioTuneIn RadioSpreaker, or Overcast as well.

Targets Per Game Now Displayed

If you look at the stats section for pass-catchers on your leagues, you’ll notice that Tgt/Gm is now displayed as a sortable column. Since many of you have requested it, we were able to add this on as another piece of information you can use right on the site as you place your bids and set your lineups.

Also, as a final bit of housekeeping this week, some players have asked why they cannot bid on David Johnson in certain leagues where he has been dropped. As previously announced, since his availability to be acquired later in the season could obviously have a negative impact on how leagues were are decided, he was automatically locked in any leagues he was dropped after Week 1.

Good luck in your bids tonight players, and I’ll see you in the chat room Friday night!

Sincerely,

Eric Balkman

Previous Waiver Wire Results in 2017

Bruce Kinder and Larry Weinhauer’s teams are both sitting atop each Varsity League we have this season. Kinder’s RHODO, which has scored 306 so far this year, tallied a 146.55 in Week 2, thanks in part to Aaron Rodgers 24.95 and Hunt. Weinhauer’s Troy’s Boys entry scored a 163.75 this week, which contributed to his 302 season-long score. His lineup was led by Tom Brady’s 35.25, Davante Adams’ 239 and Melvin Gordon’s 20.8 Week 20.8 points. The first place winner in each of these total points leagues will cash a $20,000 prize.

Things got rolling early on Thursday morning last week with our first Varsity and live Super Bracket leagues before moving onto the Main Events and Off-The-Grid drafts in the afternoon. Then it was off to the live Fantasyland show (which you can download here) and the Viewing Party for the Kareem Hunt show.

Friday not only featured Main Event drafts all day, but plenty of auctions, Best Ball and Big Payback leagues, too. We finished up on Saturday with a pair of Main Event draft times and capped it with our second Varsity draft and our $10,000 High Society league.

Big props go to Planet Hollywood for the fantastic spreads they served to all of our live players during all of the drafts. And special thanks go to Alex, Sam and all who helped facilitate, register and organize the weekend’s festivities. A HUGE thank you to Chris for coordinating everything as well!

On a personal note, it was awesome to meet many of you for the first time and catch up with a lot of you that I had met before. Probably my favorite thing about our live events each year is those interactions I can have with you in between drafts and at the Viewing Party. Good luck to each of you this year!

Don’t forget to place your waiver bids tonight and enjoy Week 2, players!

Sincerely,

Eric Balkman
