The Championship Round Is Here!

Congrats to all of the teams in both the FFPC Main Event and the Footballguys Players Championship this past weekend that were able to snare their individual league crown. I also wish the best of luck to all playoff teams in the ancillary, VP Money, dynasty and satellite leagues this coming week as well.

With Week 14 upon us, every single classic format FFPC and FPC league has now entered the playoff stage of the season, so it’s going to be a fun three-week ride leading into the holidays. The FFPC, FPC, Consolation, and Toilet Bowl leaderboards are all updated as well, so you can see where you currently stack up among the rest of the field. Please bear in mind, you will need to be logged into your account to view the leaderboards.

This week begins the most thrilling three weeks of fantasy football. Nearly $4,400,000 will be won over the next 21 days in the FFPC’s two major tournaments alone. Weeks 14 through 16 will determine the $250,000 FFPC Main Event winner and the Footballguys Players Championship $250,000 winner, as well as countless other prize winners. Championship round winners will be determined based on each team’s combined total points scored during weeks 14, 15 and 16 added to its one-game average from the regular season. Good luck to you all!

Classic & Dynasty League Waivers

Owners that made the playoffs in FFPC Classic Satellite and Dynasty leagues still have waivers for Weeks 14, 15 and 16. Please remember to place your bids by tonight at 10 p.m. ET. Waivers will also be processed on Friday as well. Again, this is only for FFPC Classic Satellite and Dynasty leagues. The waiver wires for the Main Event and the Footballguys Players Championship are locked for the remainder of the season.

And for a look at last week’s waiver details, check out the results at the link to Fantasy Mojo below:

ALL Owners Please Read

Congratulations to you if you qualified for your league playoffs!

Please remember that stats are not final until Friday, and the NFL may issue changes as they do weekly.

If this should occur, stat changes may impact head-to-head results and playoff seeds which will then be adjusted retroactively, even though Week 12 games will begin Thursday. We encourage everyone to set their lineups for Week 12, especially if you have been involved in a close head-to-head game or missed the playoffs by the slimmest of margins.

The four (4) qualifying league playoff teams will be able to continue free agency on Wednesday and Friday in Week 12 & 13. All other teams no longer have access to free agency.

Any team which did not qualify for either the Championship Round or the Consolation Round will compete in the Toilet Bowl. The Toilet Bowl will run during NFL Weeks 12 through Weeks 16. Each team will start the Toilet Bowl with a zero score. Toilet Bowl winner(s) will be determined based on each team’s total points scored during Weeks 12 through Weeks 16.

Should you have further questions, please email support@myffpc.com.

Zucca in 1st in Bare Knuckle Challenge

Michael Zucca’s Mongooses continue to hold the 2018 FFPC Bare Knuckle Challenge lead over second-place Matthew Jon and Monty Phan’s Straigh Outta Whatcom by a slim six points. Leading the way for Zucca in Week 11 was Kelce, Stefon Diggs (31.6), Kenny Golladay (25.3), the Rams defense (25) and Russell Wilson (20.85).

This draft took place live after the opening game in Las Vegas on Thursday night at Planet Hollywood. Players were not allowed to use any device, cheat sheets or any other draft aid as all 336 picks needed to be selected strictly from memory. The champ will take home a $4,500 prize in this 12-team league.

Regular Season Prizes & Waivers Info

As a reminder, all FFPC dynasty and satellite teams, as well as all league playoff teams in the Main Event and Footballguys Players Championship can submit waivers for processing both Wednesday night and Friday night this week.

All regular season cash prizes will be deposited into your player profile accounts this weekend after the Week 11 stats become final.

There is a quick turnaround this week between waivers getting processed and the kickoff of the first Thanksgiving Day game. I would encourage each of you to get those newly-bought players on waivers Wednesday night into your lineups as early as possible so you’re not scrambling to do so on Thursday when family and food take priority. 🙂

Dropped Players Are Locked

As a reminder, quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers and tight ends that are cut during Week 10, Week 11 and Week 12 free agent bidding processes will be REMOVED from the free agent pool and may not be re-acquired by any team for the remainder of the season. Dropped defenses and kickers will still be available for acquisition. This is done to minimize the possibility of potential collusion.

And as a reminder, even if injuries or other issues derailed your 2018 season, make sure you are still setting your lineups! Please don’t anger the fantasy gods, and keep karma on your side for 2019 by being competitive this weekend the rest of the season. 🙂

Week 10 Big Payback Leagues Update

Brian Owens’ No Mercy squad is out in front of the Big Payback League #1 heading into Week 11. He has already amassed 37 victory points on the season and was able to tally a 192.75 last weekend. Ertz, Hill and Gurley all led the charge for him there.

Over in Big Payback #2, it’s Left or Right? I forgot ahead of the pack with 34 victory points in 2018. Todd Range’s 161.35 Week 10 score was helped along by Mitchell Trubisky’s 39.55, Mark Ingram’s 25.2 and Gurley.

Kimra Schleicher has her Grand Theft team still in first in Big Payback #3 as well. Thanks to her 146.7 this past weekend, she has accrued 29 victory points on the year. Ben Roethlisberger (39.1) and Gurley were the big contributors for her in Week 10.

All three of these drafts were held live at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas at the FFPC Live Events in September. Each champion in these three 12-team leagues will pocket $25,000 at the end of the year.

Regular Season Ends This Monday

One of the most important weeks of the season is upon us, as the FFPC Main Event and the FPC hold our final regular season games. Remember, the playoff seeds are determined by the following criteria:

  1. The team with the best record
  2. The remaining team with the highest point total
  3. The remaining team with the best record
  4. The remaining team with the highest point total

As you can see, points are huge this week. Teams with losing records could make the playoffs if they score enough points, so make sure you are finishing out your season strong. If you look at both contests, there are still a lot of teams in contention for a playoff spot heading into Week 11. And even if your squad doesn’t move on to the playoffs, you will start accruing points for the Toilet Bowl competition beginning in Week 12.

As a reminder, you can see the Playoff bracket by clicking on the PLAYOFF tab on the league home page, next to the STANDINGS tab.

FFPC Quick Resource Links

In case you have any questions or want to check something at a moment’s notice, I will be including this section of the email every week. While you are ramping up for the 2018 season, consider this your guide to all things FFPC:

Based on your lineup decisions this week, you could find yourself battling to get into your league title game in Week 12 or fending off competition in the Toilet Bowl. Make sure you are getting your guys started this week as this is the most crucial weekend so far in 2018.

Good luck in your bids tonight players, and I’ll see you in the chat room Friday night!

FFPC Side Action Has Arrived

Get in on Some Side Action Now

Some of you have already reached out to us, and many more of you have also undoubtedly noticed the “Side Action” button next to some of the other teams in your league and on contest leaderboards. But what is Side Action, really?

The FFPC Side Action contest is designed to supplement your existing season-long teams to increase fantasy football excitement during the NFL season.

In Side Action contests, you can use your existing fantasy teams in one-week head-to-head contests to compete against other existing teams for cash prizes. No additional draft or roster creation is required to participate in Side Action. The Side Action winner is the higher scoring fantasy team for that week, as per FFPC scoring rules. Side Action will act as a separate weekly contest from the original leagues that you’re competing in, and Side Action results will obviously have no effect on your original league results.

With our initial rollout, Side Action involves two teams for each contest, but we plan to allow for more teams to be able to compete in a future Side Action contests.

Entry fees range from $10 to $1,000, with $11 price intervals. Payouts are as follows:

Side Action is initialized by you or another FFPC player by inviting another participant to accept and join his invitation to compete. The owner on the receiving end of the invitation offer may accept, decline or send a counter offer. You also have the right to cancel the Side Action at any point before the official start of the contest.

Winner of each Side Action contest will have the prize amount deposited into their account when statistical corrections and scores are finalized for that particular week.

Roster lock for Side Action purposes is the same as that used for the original league/contest. As an example, just like any FFPC season-long weekly roster lock, any player can be moved in and out of a lineup until their NFL game has begun. Once an NFL game begins, all players in that game are locked into fantasy lineups.

Your Side Action contest lineup will always be the same lineup used by the participant in his original league/contest. There are no additional modifications to the lineup allowed or required for the purposes of Side Action. It must be the same.

If you have any questions players, hit me back here or email support@myffpc.com. Now get those lineups set for some Side Action!

Eric Balkman

Aberli & Siegel on This Week’s Shows

On Rotoviz Radio‘s The High-Stakes Lowdown podcast this week, the 24th-place team owner in the 2018 FFPC Main Event Jason Aberli rejoins me on the Internet airwaves for a lively discussion on Alvin Kamara, the Patriots and Eagles backfield situations and much more.

You can check out a new episode of The High-Stakes Lowdown every Thursday on Rotoviz.comRotoviz Radio’s BlogTalkRadio channel and Apple Podcasts. I’d also encourage you to check out all of the other great podcasts that Rotoviz Radio has to offer including Fantasyland, a show that has already featured many FFPC players and covers our live events at Planet Hollywood, too.

Joining yours truly and David A. Gerczak this Friday night is the second-place team owner in the 2018 FFPC Main Event, Josh Siegel. He’ll tell us his story of how he not only built this squad but how he overcame a huge challenge in his life to enjoy where he is today. Plus we answer your calls, emails and tweets and more on The High Stakes Fantasy Football Hour!

The High Stakes Fantasy Football Hour normally airs Friday nights at 10/9c, and the Siegel episode can be heard here. You can hang out with the high stakes players in the show’s chat room if you want to listen live. Plus, on-demand streaming is available for listening anytime via the HSFF Hour websiteApple PodcastsGoogle PodcastsStitcher RadioTuneIn RadioSpreaker, or Overcast on your iPhone or Android device as well.

In case you have any questions or want to check something at a moment’s notice, I will be including this section of the email every week. While you are ramping up for the 2018 season, consider this your guide to all things FFPC:

Zucca on Top of Bare Knuckles

Michael Zucca’s Mongooses are out in front heading into Week 6 of the 2018 FFPC Bare Knuckle Challenge holding a 14-point lead over Brian and David Petrucnich’s UB 2. It was Gurley, Brady, Graham Gano (22.6), Stefon Diggs (21.6) and Demaryius Thomas (21.5) leading the way for Zucca in Week 5 in this best ball format.

Good luck in your bids tonight players, and I’ll see you in the chat room Friday night!

Sincerely,

Eric Balkman
